"Shameless": Antifa back in Atlanta with their "antics"

Recommended Posts

I am posting this article because the right wing populists on the board are sleeping today, they complain about how dare others are critiquing Trump so much, are defending their man so much, that they forgot to do their work @Infidel Dog

Sky News host Rita Panahi says it is not good news for Atlanta as extremist group Antifa is back with their “antics”.

Ms Panahi said the media has gone back to their “lies” about the group’s protests being mainly peaceful.

“This is just shameless stuff,” she said.

Can you  point to evidence in your cite which proves participants were "antifa"?

Also, what are their NAMES?

Fosters Lager - Can | Beer | D'Agostino"Sky News. It's Australian for Fox."

If they can't convince the suckers that all other media is corrupt, no one will swear allegiance to their hate cult.

Meanwhile, her point is rather neatly undermined by reality, in which the "mainstream" media reported heavily on the outburst of violence in Atlanta--including the title of the USA Today video in the post.

I thought Sky News is Sky News from the same home, UK?

Anyhow, I seen those videos, who cares who reported it?

That particular story was from Sky News Australia. Besides, the joke works better that way.

But yes, they are both Rupert Murdoch creations.

But why are having this discussion and you are treating this with soft gloves and talking about Fox News?

There were 5 domestic terrorism charges filled. Who was it there, Ninjas?

If this was the other thugs, proud boys would you talk about who reported it?

General skepticism when there is no evidence.

You know, like when Trump claimed all those carrying Trump flags attacking the Capitol were "antifa." Even McCarthy told Trump he was FoS.

This is National Review, so you better get with CNN, NBC, and the rest of the left-wing outlets to see what they have to counter this:

Six Antifa Extremists Arrested, Charged with Domestic Terrorism in Fiery Atlanta Riots:

The OP seems to be focused on the "media lies" rather than on the event. I didn't really consider that the event had a "two sides" option that would lead to debate. AFAIK, everyone is opposed to riots or violent protest. (Except for Jan 6, apparently, for which endless excuses and apologetics are made.)

As for who it was, I assume it's probably the people who were arrested, along with some number of less violent or peaceful protesters who were arrested. Antifa is more an idea than an organization or club or something. If people wanna say that the protesters thought the cops were acting like fascists and they showed up to protest that so they are "Antifa" then I guess that's fine. Some of them may identify that way, particularly those who came prepared for violence and followed through. Others probably identify as environmentalists or just plain citizens who found this most recent shooting alarming.

As for the shooting itself, the official story seems justified, but there is a lot of distrust of the police, who do seem to keen to open fire in many cases, and that distrust goes up to 11 when there is a gaggle of cops and "no body cam" footage.  -- As I understand it, the GSP doesn't provision a lot of body cams, but this is a pretty good example of why it's a good idea. When the citizenry doesn't trust the police, transparency is a way to earn that trust.

Again Evidence-Boy asking for evidence while offering none. I bet there's more than a little context missing in whatever you're talking about. There were some antifa and at least one BLM activist among the activists that preceded and prepared the ground for the ralliers coming from the Trump speech. Also Boogaloo Bois, fed contractors and varieties of anarchists.

You want evidence, right? Here's the deal. You show me yours and I'll show you mine.

Now, let me ask you ask a direct question.

Why do you allow your BIAS for certain things to defend thugery from the left in Atlanta done by AntiFa group which is a radical group of fanatics, like Proud Boys?

But sure, is an idea 😅

Charged in a Republican state. Good for them. Let's hope Georgia has better luck at actually prosecuting them than say, New York or Minnesota did with their domestic terrorists.

Quote

although the 2020 riots were the most destructive in modern American history and claimed the lives of several people, the “vast majority of citations and charges against George Floyd protesters were ultimately dropped,” an analysis by The Guardian found. In New York alone, hundreds of charges against rioters and looters were dropped.

I reject the premise of your direct question. A, I don't think I've defended any "thuggery" and B, Antifa is an amorphous "thing" (other than being a convenient scapegoat of the right) and I'm therefore disinclined to take any of those labels/accusations at face value.

At this point, whenever violence happens right wing politicians and media are sure to shout "Antifa!" But WTF does that actually even mean? It a boogeyman, for the most part, but even separating that out, if some violent actor goes too far, gets arrested and says "Yeah, I support the Antifa movement." what does that actually mean? Antifa isn't a visible organization. It's isn't a club. There are not chapters. There's no organization. There's no leadership. There is no guidebook. There are no rules. There is no set agenda. There is no membership. And anyone who wants to support the movement can do so. So who is to blame? Is the whole organization responsible? Oh wait, there isn't an organization. So what meaning is to be derived from saying "Antifa did it!"?

So yes, it's more an idea than anything else. Some people may take action in support of some or all of the ideas associated with Antifa, either implicitly or explicitly. But nobody controls who or what an "Antifa" is.

If you have some deeper knowledge of an actual Antifa organization, please feel free to share.

I still don't get your main point, you were not defending thuggery, that was me getting you going, so what you are saying, as your conclusion, I am not allowed to label the 6 people above antifa because that upsets you, and you will do another cross examination to show me there is no proof of a structure called antifa?

Am I missing something else?

---> Well in that case, I will still call them 6 antifa radical members.

As I would with Proud Boys.

"At least one...." out of at least 1000 (mostly charged, some still sought). LMAO.

Fact check: Video shows a pro-Trump mob with floor plans inside Capitol building on Jan. 6

Quote

The claim: A video shows antifa inside the Capitol building with floor plans and dressed as Trump supporters on Jan. 6, proving the attack was a setup

But the claim is baseless.

Security experts told USA TODAY antifa was not involved in the Jan. 6 attack, and USA TODAY and other news outlets have repeatedly debunked the claim that antifa agitators played a role in the riot. The footage provides no evidence to support the claim. It shows pro-Trump rioters as the attack was underway; some of the rioters identified in the video are well-known Trump supporters.

Rumor has it that antifa members were told to STAY AWAY.

Good for you Sherlock. You found proof something I'd never heard of, didn't exist.

Now, if you're through playing games. Show me the evidence Trump believed only antifa was in the advance troops of agitators preparing the ground for the arrival of the Trump ralliers. (Which is a better way of stating your claim.)

Do that and I'll show you there's good reason to believe the advance force was made up of multiple groups of agitators including Antifa.
