Republican Candidate from New Mexico does not accept elections result, takes it a step further

Recommended Posts

Yet another example where political anger and narcissism leads to.

Politics is like a drug it seems, people lose their mind when they can't access it.

The story is below:

Albuquerque police said Monday they have arrested Solomon Peña, an unsuccessful Republican candidate in the last state House elections, in connection with recent shootings at the offices and homes of elected Democratic officials.

For the record: Peña's arrest follows that of another suspect on Jan. 9 in connection with the six shootings that police believe targeted the Democratic officials.

What we're watching: Peña is accused of conspiring with and paying four other men to shoot at the homes of two county commissioners and two state legislators, per a tweet from Albuquerque Police Department Chief Harold Medina.

Context: Albuquerque police had been investigating the shootings that began on Dec. 4, when Bernalillo County Commissioner Adriann Barboa's home was targeted.

Background: After losing his election by a wide margin, Peña tweeted that he wasn't conceding the race. Police allege that he also visited three of the targeted officials' homes unannounced to complain the election was fraudulent.

Flashback: Peña in November posted online a photo of himself with the comment: "This is one of the last pictures I have of the Jan 06 trip. I lost that phone at the Trump rally in Phoenix, July 2021. Make America Great Again!"

What they're saying: Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) in a statement Monday commended law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office's actions following Peña's arrest.

  • Contrarian changed the title to Republican Candidate from New Mexico does not accept elections result, takes it a step further

Is also a good idea to mention the score:

It was not even close.

5,679 votes to 2,033 votes, or 74% to 26%.

Anger ---> leads to irrationality ---> leads to this.

Social Media allowed this phenomena that any loser can come out and say I won even though, clearly you lost pal.

This is the real marxism let me tell you. 😄 Everyone has to be equal to everyone even though some deal only with ideology based anger or conspiracy theories.  😄

Well, if he really thinks the election is stolen then can you blame him ?

I would, though, blame people like Hannity who tell millions that the election was stolen on their show - to get money - even though they know it's not true.

Stacey Abrams refuses to concede lost election, perpetuates big lie

And let's not forget the Democrat goose steppers denied Trump's landslide victory because of alleged "Russian" interference.

A new report alleging Russian spy agencies were told to help Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election is “disgusting” and “fiction,” the former president said Thursday.

“This is disgusting,” Trump tweeted through spokeswoman Liz Harrington. “It’s fake news, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA was fake news. It’s just the Radical Left crazies doing whatever they can to demean everybody on the right.

“It’s fiction, and nobody was tougher on Russia than me, including on the pipeline, and sanctions,” the tweet said. “At the same time we got along with Russia.

“Russia respected us, China respected us, Iran respected us, North Korea respected us. And the world was a much safer place than it is now with mentally unstable leadership.”

At issue is a new report by the Guardian that Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered a secret spy agency to find “practical” ways to support Trump’s bid for the White House during a Jan. 22, 2016, meeting at the Kremlin.

Left wingers were election deniers LONG before the 2000 Mules stole the 2020 election.

More details are coming out.

Mr. Peña accompanied the men to the house of State Senator Linda Lopez on Jan. 3 and “attempted to shoot,” but the automatic rifle he was using malfunctioned, the police said. Another man shot more than a dozen rounds from a handgun, the police said, including into the bedroom of Ms. Lopez’s daughter.

The politician in question seems to have had an operation going, as him being the mastermind.

1. Have you heard of McLuhan's concept of "Global Village" ?  The Global Village has village IDI0T.  In an actual village, the village IDI0T was compartmentalized so that their perspective was that of a stopped clock or cracked mirror.  You might smirk at 1% of the things they yell, such as "THE KING IS A TURNIP !!!"  There was a natural fit for the mentally ill and/or the socially alienated and indeed they kept people on their guard. But...

2. They're NOT equal.  If I yell things that make people angry, then the algorithm BOOSTS me above reasonable people.  As such, the social media negate the natural tendency of people to pay attention to important and valuable people and/or messages and to ignore the rest.

Do you want legislation to deal with this problem ?  It's a problem of technology and monopoly.  So maybe they could make it illegal to censor legal messages, and to boost messages unless they are paid ads.  Maybe.

Better yet would be for those of us who are reasonable, open to other points of view and sane to IGNORE tainted opinions to a greater degree.

That time is over, social media destroyed the concept of "ignore".

Back in the day if someone texted you or called you, one could ignore the communication that was just arriving.

Now, if you start your phone, on a social media, you have access to thousand of random Joe's thoughts from any dark corner of the world, most thinking that by sending a Tweet they are smart as Einstein.

This provided a drug to the masses that you could not imagine. Karl Marx's book is nothing for brainwashing purposes.

Social media provided the platform to anyone to be at equal ground with people that built careers and worked their entire life for something.

As you pointed it out, if one says something even more in low IQ, bonus the points.

Not sure how you reverse that, the world is not going back technologically. Is a "price"  needed to be paid for technological progress.

but I also believe even engaging with people that annoy me  (radicals too), it helps me not to become a fanatic. If it was up to me, unless you can do basic mathematics, you should not be allowed near a computer. This is why people like me should not be in charge of stuff like this.  I have a potential to become a dictator, I recognise that in me. 😄

1.  Social media makes money from "noise".  Nature abhors noise.  Animals use it sparingly but social media wants it to happen forever.
2. It's a perpetual din, available whenever you want it.  Marx could never compete with popular culture.
3. It's not to be 'reversed'.  People WANT this, whether they know it or not.  Humanity seeks out results without knowing exactly why they do.  Certainly they are looking for some kind of short term gains but those goals seem really murky or ridiculous in retrospect.  Example: The Easter Island statues.
4. Which is why you will never be one.

You might look at Marshall McLuhan who talked about the hypnotizing effects of technology, and - in terms of adjusting to the perpetual social noise that will be part of our world moving forward - Albert Toynbee's concept of "challenge and response".  We will develop a response to this new problem, I assure you.

^Far from the full story. Peña had been convicted of 19 felonies, served 7 years in jail and Republicans still thought he was the best candidate for the office.

New Mexico Republicans ought to be tried along with Peña.

I had to dig to find out this detail because someone finds it hard to post a link. 😄

I would fire whoever does the background checks for the Republican party or maybe they knew and tried to run a "I am a changed man" type of platform. Clearly, he could not control his emotions, and change did not happen in this case.

After the Santos embarrassment, with a record in Brazil, it appears another prize winner was allowed to run.

Imagine this guy would have won, what an alliance would have been. Peña - George Santos.

Yes, yes I would. He, like trump, had no viable evidence of fraud, yet attacked the winner. That's like killing someone because you thought they had sex with your wife. There's no justification for his actions.

No, but there's an explanation.  That means if you can remove the trigger you can stop the others from doing it.

Hannity is the trigger.  Sean Trigger.  Pretty easy solution: there's a single empty pod in the ISS presently.  Job duties include floating upside down and basically staying away from Earth.

Let me say it in plain terms so you can have compassion for Michael:

@Michael Hardner is anti-Trump.  😃

Also - let's be clear on what the F*ckle-Chuds, Deplorables, and Trumpian Asteroid-Huggers represent.  In software development it's called "technical debt".  If you don't educate and engage with the electorate... if you treat them as masses and not a true public then you have to deal with the results.

They adopted the thoughts of a School of Economics and sold it by stoking populist paranoia.  Now those people are everywhere... claiming that every librarian is a pedophile, that thermometers are lying etc. etc. etc.

They are the American Khmer Rouge.  Now we know how it can happen.

Fight them by isolating the infection and letting the limb die.

Ironic that you post the bolded and then fail to post the link you found. Or did you find a link?

Thing is, *I* heard it on TV news, so I never saw a link.

I don't post far left sources, you know where, The Daily Beast, left's Breitbart.

They were right about this one.

Don't play California games.

So you found a link and posted info from it, despite being too embarrassed to identify a link which told you the TRUTH.

How does that make any sense? Just because you consider "the beast" to be "far left sources," does not automatically mean they are not credible. Unlike right wing propaganda sites which never adhere to ethical journalistic standards.

Yes, just because a broken clock is correct twice a day, i am still embarrassed for the clock so i don't promote it. Was too early and I don't trust them as a source.

Now we can post: 😎

What do you call posting info from a link you don't even trust? Gambler or troll?

Is "the beast" really wrong that often? Or you're just engaging in hyperbole?

Educated guess?

Also, you mentioned it first, so you have robo from California part of Newsom's machine saying it.

then i found it there with a search.

The probability was high to be true but because the big newspapers were not reporting yet, I did not want to promote a tabloid.
