House Republicans Set to Launch Probe into "Weaponization" of FBI, Intel Agencies

Recommended Posts

House Republicans are now planning on forming a new select committee to investigate the Department of Justice and the FBI, including their “ongoing criminal investigations,” setting up a showdown with the Biden administration and law enforcement agencies over their criminal probes, particularly those into former President Donald Trump.

The new expanded committee proposal is a result of one of the key concessions House Speaker Kevin McCarthy made to his populist (I added this word) opposition to secure the gavel.

The proposal is included in the House rules package, which establishes the rules and committees for the 118th Congress.

If the proposal passes, McCarthy would be able to select 13 lawmakers to serve on the subcommittee, five of whom would be chosen in consultation with House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries.

ABC News

Was the FBI good in the Republican book when they announced the decision to investigate Hillary Clinton? Remember that moment? Trumpists were thanking the FBI like they were Santa Claus.

Not saying I disagree with the decision of the FBI, politicians do need to be investigated, but if I were a conspiracy theorist, definitely the timing was very suspicious. I will dismiss it as a coincidence and just stick at pointing out the hypocrisy:

If Trump says FBI is bad, is bad. If tomorrow Trump wakes up liking the FBI, FBI is good. And everyone follows.

We expected this nonsense.
Was there sufficient cause to investigate Donald Trump? Yes. Most of it was done while Trump was President and most be an independent prosecutor selected by Trump’s own AG.

Republicans put on these political clown shows whenever they’re in power, because Republicans have no solutions for America except to pollute more and to slash taxes for the filthy rich. They’re going to investigate why AOC went to the Met Gala, and then they’ll get very offended when their own people get investigated for the same thing. They’ll investigate Hunter Biden’s laptop, then get offended when their own children get investigated for getting similar patronage jobs. It’s all a lot of fluff intended to distract.

b) sharkman you are here on this forum for a long time. What bothers you? that someone might be your age but can play with technology like one plays the piano? I grew up in a competitive society. I have multiple screens open and with one button my sources which are divided by political orientation get refreshed based on trend (meaning on how many people click on it). Then I grab it, say my piece for a few seconds and post it here as a mental exercise when i break from analysing my work. I don't like ideology in general, not very political as it leads to anger, but don't like charlatans and conspiracy theorists that lie to readers through fear mongering. There is a limit to my tolerance. So in a way my presence here is a combination of those things up there.

Some people would argue that it's pretty important to find out why the FBI has been committing crimes, lying to Americans about important election topics, plotting kidnappings, running farcicl political investigations, controlling social media and why so many FBI officials have committed acts of political interference that were serious enough to get them fired or demoted.

Ok, let's see what this commision finds and their conclusion.

but if they only find maybe 1 case like weak minded agent Peter Strzok talking to a girlfriend, so no major conspiracy, are you going to respect the commision and the process?

or you only respect it if they find what you want them to find there?

I like The FBI's social media reach, especially the wanted pages for both proud boys and antifa in Portland.

Well, obviously there's the case of Kevin Clinesmith committing a crime to get search warrants to spy on Republicans, and keep the witch hunt going. That's probably not the only known crime from that investigation but at least one person had to fall on their sword, and he wasn't even disbarred, so does that look like an arrangement or what?

Peter Strzok wasn't the only person demoted or fired for his political bias in the collusion witch hunt.

Then there's the question of why the FBI and Dems had a secret hangout at a Perkins Coie law office, and Hillary's lawyer had a key card to the fBI headquarters at a time when he was spreading disinformation.

And the insane amount of disinformation that the FBI pumped out during the collusion investigation...

The lies bout the laptop were brutal. The FBI is basically just a bunch of criminals, political activists, and bold-faced liars now. They're honestly not much better than the KGB. They've dropped like a lead balloon in the last 5 years.

This commision will be made of several other members not only Trump's students. Is democracy still, if they find something except speculation, i want to see it.

Your group's issues with the FBI started when Comey would not bow down to Shepherd Trump.

Remember the supper at the White House? In Trump's world that is a big no no. He only wants followers like Putin with the FSB.

so because of this, 100 years from today the Trump movement will never like the FBI as before (when they announced Clinton's investigation, gave Trump a few %).

This is comical.  Just who is the GOP Congress planning on sending the referral to?

No one is as 'loyal' to Trump as you think they are.

When people said things like: "The MSM is a joke for pretending that Trump said: "All immigrants are animals'", it wasn't out of loyalty to Trump. The MSM really is a joke. If you can't appreciate that the MSM is completely out of control with their lying and disinformation then I have no respect for you at all.

The Dems spent the last 4 years lying about the 2016 election, they cheated on the 2016 election several times, and they spent the last 4 years trying to implement voter-fraud friendly reforms, then after 4 years of saying that the 2016 election was illegitimate, CNN was calling the 2020 election awesome on election night.

You'd have to be a complete 'maroon' to expect the Dems to go into the 2020 election without a plan to cheat, and even if they didn't get caught, it definitely happened. They're like a ripped, 350 lb 14 yr old who pretends that he didn't do steroids.

Trump isn't the ideal president, but he is a far better president than Biden and Obama put together, and his track record was almost flawless.

Your group's issues with the FBI started when Comey would not bow down to Shepherd Trump.

No one said that Comey had to bow down, but there's far more evidence that Hillary committed crimes than Trump, and there was a 3-yr show trial into Trump's non-crime, complete with crimes, boatloads of lying, 17 errors and omissions that all convenienty swung one way, and so much bias that top level FBI agents were fired and demoted. Then the MSM barely even reported on it. You'd think that would be a big deal in a democracy, but nah.

Hillary had evidence destroyed 2 weeks after it was subpoenaed and she wasn't charged. Other people went to jail for saying something incorrect to the FBI.

It's not like it's a bit odd-looking. It's a duck.

Quote

Remember the supper at the White House?

It's only a big deal if you believe Comey, and Comey's as phoney as a $3 bill.

Conservatives like law enforcement because that's smart. They like the FBI because they used to be involved in law enforcement.

The FBI is just the Dem Mafia now. Of course they're reviled by conservatives.

NO !  The Department of Justice DEPARTMENT is NOT the Department of Justice, it's the DEPARTMENT of the Department of Justice...

At a certain point the DEEP STATE gets so DEEP it comes out the other side again and gets shallow....

Their office is an old shed with a screen door, and an old fat guy with his boots up on a wooden desk...

That's why the Republicans trust the DOJD you see ;)

Misuse of a government agency to try to overthrow an election is not nonsense. Your goose stepping Democrats yelled RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA for three years, and even tagged an independent counsel (Robert Mueller) to waste taxpayer time and money on that witch hunt.

Nazi Pelosi and her fellow Fourth Reich Democrats deserve to be thrown in prison for this flagrant violation of the law.

Thanks for revealing your complete IGNORANCE of the FACTS:

Quote

On May 17, 2017, Robert S. Mueller III was appointed by acting Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein to serve as Special Counsel by the order below.

Order 3915-2017

FYI, Rosenstein is a Republican appointed by Trump.

Quote

President Donald Trump nominated Rosenstein to serve as Deputy Attorney General on February 1, 2017. Rosenstein was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 25, 2017. In May 2017, he authored a memo that President Trump cited as the basis for his decision to dismiss FBI Director James Comey.

Was it your attendance at FL schools which made you so stupid and arrogant?

Irrelevant. Mueller was the witch hunt against Trump, just because he kicked Hitlary's ass. And you cretins yelled RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA for three fcking years.

The Mueller fiasco was a waste of taxpayer dollars. It was a witch hunt, plain and simple.

Did I misunderstand something?

When did these weaponization of government committees get such a narrow focus?

When did they all become about the old Russia Russia Russia hoax?

Because I heard they were about a lot things, ranging from Covid and Fauci to the border to government collusion with social media to censor and other scattered points.

What evidence do you guys have they're only going to be looking at Russiagate?

In fact...

I just stumbled onto this:

Quote

The panel is billed as one tasked with looking into the authority of the executive branch “to collect information on or otherwise investigate citizens of the United States” and to delve into whether the branch has engaged in “illegal or improper, unconstitutional, or unethical activities” against U.S. citizens. But its scope appears to be broad, giving the panel the authority to investigate actions by a range of government agencies that House Republicans take issue with – and wield their newfound subpoena power to seek access to details about ongoing investigations in the process.

Indeed, House Republicans for months have enthusiastically shared the onslaught of investigations they have pledged to undertake, including a probe into the business dealings of the president’s son Hunter Biden, the origin of COVID-19, the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and various investigations into recent actions by the Justice Department and the FBI – including those related to former President Donald Trump. But what in particular the new subcommittee chooses to take up remains to be seen.

You're just as wrong about ^this as you were about your previous claims.

But thanks for proving YOUR ARROGANCE and IGNORANCE about the evidence of Trump's collusion with Russians.

You can deny it all you want, but ignoring the FACTS will NOT make them go away.

Again, you want to go off on a tangent about some minor possible point in the context of the whole issue and portray it as if it is the whole issue.

It definitely is not.

In fact I notice you conveniently cut out the part that better described the macro of what this is all about. Let's see it again then:

The panel is billed as one tasked with looking into the authority of the executive branch “to collect information on or otherwise investigate citizens of the United States” and to delve into whether the branch has engaged in “illegal or improper, unconstitutional, or unethical activities” against U.S. citizens. But its scope appears to be broad, giving the panel the authority to investigate actions by a range of government agencies that House Republicans take issue with – and wield their newfound subpoena power to seek access to details about ongoing investigations in the process."

Now you apparently want to lasso that last little underlined bit and divert into a proposal that they're only talking about getting classified information from the DOJ.

The problem for you is that's not true, and I noticed.
