I love the phrases and accents . "A cat can look at a king." Or, "Two shakes of a lamb's tail." I wonder how Fellowes wrote the script. Did he tell the director also to blend to the kitchen?  

Fellowes wrongly portrays propinquinty - the relation of the up/down. Such people were not so close. There's a reason sophisticated people in Europe spoke French - and local people now only speak Spanish.

Casting & Dickens. The guy with a limp: Brendan Coyle (Mr Bates). It is too obvious. I wondered how Fellowes wrote this. If you have not seen this, you must understand how Dickens, Zola and Balzac wrote.
