Al Gore's prediction in his movie "Inconvenient Truth" that sea levels would rise 20 feet and cover coastal cities was an outrageous claim and extreme fear-mongering.   Turns out even the IPCC, the phony political UN climate change body, said it would only rise 0.18 to 0.6 meters.  Unfortunately mainstream media gave endless attention to Al Gore's movie and caused a lot of panic and division across the western world.  Critics only got a miniscule amount of media attention later.  This is the problem with mainstream media.  They love to focus on the bizarre and fear mongering, but are not very interested in the reality or truth.  The mundane doesn't interest them.  It's the scary reports that draw the big audiences.

You seem to be bothered by someone bringing up the subject of Al Gore as an attempt to deflect and deny. Are you suggesting that Al Gore is not as deeply committed to climate change as Greta Thunberg? Given the rather outrageous scenes in Gore's movie, why can't anyone point that out?

I think it's fair game to bring up Al Gore and his own, very high carbon footprint lifestyle. Greta is also fair game.

I'll give her some credit here. She actually does give responses to the questions posed to her, but not good answers. She is pretty good at deflecting too as you will see.

There's so much fear and hate that any climate change discussion is totally wasted.  What we want and what we do are totally disconnected.

Something to think about...The Persians invented the windmill in about 600 AD.  Then for about 1,000 years, until the dawn of the industrial revolution, the earth used green wind and wood energy; no fossil fuels.  On the evolutionary scale humans were just as intelligent then as they are today.  Yet at the end of that period the earth could support a population of only about 600 million people mostly struggling to survive.  The economy was agricultural and territorial wars and colonisation were used to gain added agricultural production.  Most of the energy was human labour supplied by serfdom and slavery.  Not a glowing achievement for the green economy.

She’s come to symbolize the anti-human.  Reduce the human footprint out of existence.  That’s where this is going. It’s the utopian Puritanism (dystopian nightmare) of an environmentally pure world of shivering, starving humans worshiping a Gaia that will carry on with or without humans. It’s a death cult.  Extinction Rebellion uses similar rhetoric.

I wasn’t a Trump fan but he made a hilarious comment about Greta when he said, “She seems like a happy girl.”   Greta is the exemplar of wet blankets.
