Apparently it is still on his Instagram account. Does that mean Musk will try and buy out Zuckerberg next?

An update:

Musk explained the suspension Wednesday evening, saying that "real-time posting of someone else’s location violates doxxing policy, but delayed posting of locations are OK."

(Axios).

So no, he is not buying Instagram. 😄

Here’s the thing: When you WANT a conspiracy theory to be true, you can make it seem true.

Yes.

And when you want to be blind to what's going on, nothing will make you see.

"It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled".....as they say.

All I know is that experts in their fields said from the beginning that the inoculations would not stop transmission, they would not stop hospitalizations or deaths, natural immunity was real and was important to attaining herd immunity, that risk was stratified, that myocarditis was a SAE, that women were experiencing menstrual issues post-jab, that children were remarkably resilient, that ivermectin worked and was NOT just ""horse de-wormer", that lockdowns would be more damaging than not locking down, that multiple jabs would eventually make people MORE susceptible to infection because immune function would slide into the negatives, and a myriad other things that were "conspiracy theories" until it was all proven true.

All of these things were denied until it was all so obviously lies, that they couldn't deny them any longer.

Twitter Suspends Reporters From WashPost, NYT, Others Who Wrote About Elon Musk

Twitter suddenly suspended a host of the nation’s preeminent tech journalists on Thursday, many of whom have reported about billionaire Elon Musk’s chaotic leadership at the social media giant in recent weeks.

The accounts for The New York Times’ Ryan Mac, The Washington Post’s Drew Harwell, CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan, Mashable’s Matt Binder and independent journalist Aaron Rupar all disappeared Thursday evening, as did several others. All of those reporters have reported deeply about Musk’s $44 billion takeover of Twitter, the fallout after he laid off half of its employees and the company’s decision to ban, then un-ban, then re-banan account that tracked Musk’s private plane flights.

Details - The following accounts were suspended:

- New York Times tech reporter Ryan Mac

- Washington Post tech reporter Drew Harwell

- Journalist Aaron Rupar

- CNN politics and tech correspondent Donie O'Sullivan

- Mashable tech reporter Matt Binder

- Sports and political commentator Keith Olbermann

- The Intercept tech reporter Micah Lee

- Voice of America's chief national correspondent Steve Herman

State of play: The notice that appears on the now-suspended accounts reads: "Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules."

Why it matters: The suspensions raise questions about Musk's commitment to free speech on Twitter, a value he has directly linked to his takeover of the platform.

In response to a tweet about the suspensions, Musk indicated that the accounts violated Twitter's doxxing policy, which he revealed Wednesday after suspending an account that actively tracked his private jet.

It's unclear how long these suspensions will last. Musk has said he does not believe in permanently banning accounts.

The suspension of several journalists on Twitter Thursday immediately set off a firestorm, with mainstream press crying foul over what they perceived as an attempt by Elon Musk to silence his critics and right-wing voices arguing that the liberal media finally got a taste of its own medicine.

Why it matters: Musk has said repeatedly that he stands for free speech, but the inconsistency of his content moderation decisions has begun to alienate traditional media outlets.

What they're saying: "The suspension of (Washington Post reporter) Drew Harwell's Twitter account directly undermines Elon Musk's claim that he intends to run Twitter as a platform dedicated to free speech," said Sally Buzbee, executive editor of The Washington Post.

CNN said in a statement it will "reevaluate" its relationship with Twitter based on Musk's response to questions from CNN about why one of its reporters' accounts was suspended.

The other side: "TABLES HAVE TURNED: Elon Musk suspends CNN, NYT, WaPo journalists, reminding them the rules also apply to them," Fox News tweeted.

"Oh so now you care about censorship and having your Twitter accounts banned?" tweeted conservative activist Charlie Kirk, founder and president of Turning Point USA.

Between the lines: Musk later confirmed that reporters were suspended for linking to a Mastodon account that actively tracked Musk's private jet. Musk suspended a similar Twitter account on Wednesday.

He alleged that by posting links to the account, those journalists had "doxxed" him, and doxxing is a violation of Twitter's policies.

Doxxing is typically defined as publishing private or personally identifying information about someone online, often for the purpose of inviting scrutiny or harm to the subject.

Musk later joined a Twitter Spaces audio discussion among journalists, including some of those who were banned, where he doubled down on his decision.

In that discussion, the Post's Harwell disputed the notion that linking to the jet account — which aggregates publicly available location information — constituted "doxxing," and reiterated that he never posted Musk's address.

In response, Musk repeated that doxxing is against Twitter's rules and violators of those rules would be suspended. He then abruptly exited the audio event, which had roughly 31,000 listeners.

Be smart: Regardless of how they were perceived, the suspensions on Thursday were unprecedented.

There's never been an attempt by a major social media platform to suspend so many journalists all at once.

The Committee to Protect Journalists said that if the reporters' suspensions are confirmed as retaliation for their work, "this would be a serious violation of journalists' right to report the news without fear of reprisal."

The big picture: Musk's long-held frustration with the mainstream media has put him at odds with one of Twitter's most active user groups.

When asked about the role that the traditional press should play on Twitter, Musk has said that he believes in "citizen journalism" as a way to counter the mainstream media's power.

"I'm not saying we should somehow downplay the major publications or prominent journalists. I'm simply saying we should elevate people and give voice to the people. Much more, " he said on a Twitter Spaces chat last month.

COVID vaccines saved 3.2 million US lives, researchers say

Elon Musk reinstated the Twitter accounts of several journalists that were suspended for a day over a controversy on publishing public data about the billionaire’s plane.

The reinstatements came after the unprecedented suspensions evoked stinging criticism from government officials, advocacy groups and journalism organizations from several parts of the globe on Friday, with some saying the microblogging platform was jeopardizing press freedom.

A Twitter poll that Musk conducted later also showed that a majority of the respondents wanted the accounts restored immediately.

“Accounts who doxxed my location will have their suspension lifted now,” Musk said in a tweet on Saturday.

Exceed? Hardly.

Question: why would a bunch of known Libbie reporters, post updates on Musk's plane location?

Probably a good decision.

Contrarian...what "news" value is there in doxxing Musk...and his family? What "intent" do you think that had?

I think doxxing should be a bannable offense.

Mark this on paper. It might be a day when me and you came to an agreement for the first time.

Can you imagine if a darling of the left, take any presenter from MSNBC/CNN show with some random person tracking their movements via social media.

They would have been screaming about danger, privacy, fascism, journalism, etc, etc.

But Musk -> they cheer on such activities.

--> Elon Musk supplies technological equipment to Ukraine which helped the Ukrainian military in the war against Russians and are helping communications even to this day. This is after the Ukrainian ambassador told him to **** off.

Why in the world is he allowing these people to track his movement in the first place? I would come to them with 20 lawyers and drag them through court.

Sharing the location with the Russians? They do it for the money and to become viral on social media.

Lol...true.

I think the idea was to get the response they actually got. Some jack-ass jumping on their car, probably scaring the b'jeebers outta his wife and kids.

In other words, left wing hacks with no real contribution to offer.

Musk merely cleaned house and kicked out the useless bums. The money he is saving is probably beyond six figures, because those idjits are about as journalistic as Florida kindergarteners playing show and tell.

A fascist fires useless hacks?  In WHAT alternative universe?

You goose steppers and your occupation of Twitter were more along the lines of Benito and Adolf.

If anything, Musk was the allied liberation of Europe. Twitter will now embrace real free speech and the concentration camps will be gone.

This is just breaking now, from the World Cup, I can imagine what firestorm will cause tomorrow.

I am surprised CNN does not have an article on it already. Is it a conspiracy? = )

Speaking of breaking now...

I hear Elon put up a new poll where he swears he'll step down if a majority says they want him to.

Kind of brilliant if he plans to lose. He had some fun. Got the structure in place he wanted and now he can move on. I'm sure he has bigger fish to fry.
