---> Motivation under investigation.

Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was “violently assaulted” by an assailant who broke into the couple’s San Francisco home early Friday morning, the speaker’s office said in a statement.

“The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation,” read the statement from Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill.

Paul Pelosi, 82, “was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time,” Hammill said.

The San Francisco Police Department did not immediately respond to CNBC’s inquiries.

Apparently the person came in with a hammer (CNN).

This story reminded me of that time when another member of the American society came at the house of Senator Rand Paul:

Rene Boucher broke several of the senator’s ribs when he tackled him while Paul was doing yard work at his home in Kentucky in 2017.

Is the video online?

It is but I forgot where I saw it. I went looking for it and couldn't find it again.

Sometimes when they don't want to tell you background facts they'll wait a couple days.

Unless he's a white Christian Trump supporter, of course.

Right now if anybody knows anything about the assailant or his motive nobody seems to be talking.

Could be anything. Maybe when Paul Pelosi got nailed for drunk driving he wasn't alone for all we know. Maybe this guy who jumped Paul has a daughter. Who knows.

CNN is saying the following:

A source tells the assailant who attacked Paul Pelosi was in search for the Speaker of the House.  The intruder confronted the speaker’s husband in their San Francisco home shouting “where is Nancy, where is Nancy?”

Apparently the security detail was not there, and spouses do not get security detail.

A video was obtained by Capitol Police which is working with the FBI & San Francisco Police Joint Unit.

I don't think the video is public yet. If you find it, post it.

Or maybe you just enjoy wild PARTISAN speculation.

What we KNOW is that on Jan 6th, violent Trump MAGA were searching for Pelosi and saying what they would do to her ON TAPE.

I think you missed my point, Hero.

What I said was at this point we know nothing about the assailant or the motive.

I expect the info to trickle out though. Even so it will be a bit before it can be trusted.

Remember the "Brian Sicknick murdered by fire extinguisher" BS following Jan 6.

CNN is saying now that the person tried to tie up Pelosi's husband.

Now, I hope CNN is verifying all this as I don't think the network can survive another Jussie Smollett episode.

I highly doubt it though, Pelosi did not make it into political leadership to make such amateur mistakes/scenarios.

No, I don't remember that. What I remember is he got face full of a chemical irritant which might have been bear spray.

What I was talking about is you NOT KNOWING what happened, but your entire speculation options were leftists and victim blaming.

What I'm saying is we do KNOW the history of who was looking to harm Nancy. It was MAGA goons.

We know that he was shouting “Where’s Nancy?”

So it’s not random violence or a botched burglary.

The assailant has been identified as David Wayne Depape.

I don't know anything about him yet, but would anyone like to make bets about his motive, facebook groups etc.?

Yes, Wayne from Berkeley.

Some are circulating a MAGA account, not confirmed is his just yet.

Rand Paul also had a few words:

No one deserves to be assaulted. Unlike Nancy Pelosi’s daughter who celebrated my assault, I condemn this attack and wish Mr. Pelosi a speedy recovery.

Report from local CBS News, cited CNN says Depape posted multiple conspiracy theories about Jan 6th, COVID and videos of Michael Lindell (pillow guy).

Alleged Paul Pelosi attacker posted multiple conspiracy theories

Quote

The man who allegedly attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband early Friday posted memes and conspiracy theories on Facebook about Covid vaccines, the 2020 election and the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol, and an acquaintance told CNN that he seemed “out of touch with reality.”

....

Last year, David DePape posted links on his Facebook page to multiple videos produced by My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell falsely alleging that the 2020 election was stolen. Other posts included transphobic images and linked to websites claiming Covid vaccines were deadly. “The death rates being promoted are what ever ‘THEY’ want to be promoted as the death rate,” one post read.

DePape also posted links to YouTube videos with titles like “Democrat FARCE Commission to Investigate January 6th Capitol Riot COLLAPSES in Congress!!!” and “Global Elites Plan To Take Control Of YOUR Money! (Revealed)”

Yeah, surely has mental health issues, whoever he is. But I'm sort of at the point like with dogs- you hear that a family dog has killed one of the kids you sort of assume it's a pit bull and then wait to be corrected as necessary.

So many MAGA fringe nuts have talked about killing Pelosi it's easy for a deranged person to think it sounds like a great idea from inside the wrong media bubble.

Sounds pretty confusing at present. Lots of conflicting details. For example he either entered with a hammer or took the hammer from Pelosi in a tussle.

Might be a name mix up as well.

For now I imagine people will be grabbing the detail they like for partisan purposes and running with it.

Yes depending on where you read. The hammer is being reported that it was taken during the struggle now.

Not Bullshit.

From your wiki cite:

On March 14, Julian Khater and George Tanios were arrested for assaulting Sicknick with a chemical spray and for other charges.[11] The medical examiner found no evidence that Sicknick had an allergic reaction to the chemical spray.[3] Prosecutors later said on April 27 that the chemical spray was pepper spray.[12]

That wasn't the BS.

The BS was you trying to cover up what my claim was with a diversion to a tiny factoid that didn't actually matter.

What was my actual claim? Here ya go. Also from my link:

Quote

Some initial media reports regarding Sicknick's cause of death were incorrect.[3][34][10] On January 8, the Associated Press,[19] The Wall Street Journal,[37] and separate stories in The New York Times cited two anonymous law enforcement officials as saying that Sicknick was struck in the head by a fire extinguisher.[38][39] Similar reports followed on January 9.[40]

My point was don't take first reports as gospel. I could also have mentioned Jussie Smollet, Nick Sandman. NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace's lynch noose hoax or too, too many other warnings of why not to take early news to heart.

BTW:

Quote

In an April 19 press release, the medical examiner's office said that Sicknick's death was by natural causes.
