Is Giorgia Meloni Far-Right?

So, did you hear this one?

Italy's right wing, led by Meloni, wins election, exit polls say

"Far-right leader Giorgia Meloni's electoral alliance appears to hold a wide lead in Italy's national vote. If Meloni becomes premier, she will be the first woman in Italy to hold that office. Her party, with neo-fascist roots, would need to form a coalition with her main allies to command a majority in Parliament."

I'm not that up on Giorgia Meloni. Not sure what makes her far-right.

Here's her victory speech where she gives her platform:

Why is that "far-right." Not too long ago it was mainstream.

What exactly is this "far-right" thing of which the stenographers of the 'Powers That Be' taking down copy in their media so often refer to anyway?

It's far-right, it's just not neo-fascist.

Leftists like to compare her to Benito Mussolini because she doesn't play their stupid games, but she's not a socialist at all.

Giorgia Meloni is fierce and she's smart and she's almost certainly the best leader in the free world right now.

Because most people are too lazy to try to understand economics, 'left' and 'right' have morphed 100% into issues of identity politics.  And those are about opinions, no need to think or reflect... just "do you like how a man in a dress looks".

This is the result of media, consumer society and advertising consuming all of the public imagination and making every opinion equal to every other.

So theoretically the fresh new look of politics is like this:

"She likes Putin... well i don't know about that but she wants to ban that horrible Peppa Pig so I like her !"

Mindless.

But... sure... it's a big problem... gotta ban that Peppa Pig episode because there are two mama bears in it...

1) Shows for toddlers shouldn't be about sexuality

2) Two mama bears didn't make a baby bear, and it's not up to the people who make cartoons to confuse children on the very basic math of life.

Believe what ?  That they won ?

Yeah, I don't start screeching that the election was stolen when it doesn't go my way - that's other folks...

Your very language has changed in the last few months. You haven't noticed, have you?

Well, I have...in you and other true believers.

Enjoy...may the best political system triumph.

I get a kick out of Mike wanting to pull his hair out and run around in circles about the Peppa Pig thing.

First of all that wasn't Giorgia and second I don't think much came of it.

I think one of the reasons whoever's behind the idea for that Peppa Pig episode push it out there is because they can get people like Mikey squealing all over the internet like it's the end of world or something if somebody doesn't like it.

1. Not pulling my hair out.  Just sneering at the gullibility and scrambled values in display.
2.Right... it was almost 3 weeks ago after all and only a senior member of her govenment...
3.Sorry I didn't start this thread.  I'm not offended, just continually surprised and disappointed with citizens with scrambled values and priorities.

No ... that was Meloni's government that brought that up...

Me pointing out that scrambled values and priorities are reflected in that is not me caring about Peppa Pig.  These are your heroes and their cancel culture at its shining best...

Well look at what she posted, she checked every box in the definition of fascism except the 'glory of past days'.
And who gives a shit; it's a coalition and it's Italy. She'll be history in a short time.

And YES, if you're anti-immigration, anti-gay, anti-any specific group/religion, think family values should be like 1955 was portrayed, you're not "conservative", you're far right.

It's REALLY amusing when Communists define what Conservative means.

Even funnier how simple people think anything that's not fascism must be communism.

You can come out from under the bed it's not 1949 anymore. They let the air out of the Red Menace bogeyman balloon over 30 years ago.

The media conflates right-wing/conservative politics (IE family values, not being ashamed of your own culture, rule of law, personal freedoms, small gov't, etc) with fascism somehow, and that's not the case at all.

Fascists are big government, anti-freedoms, anti-religion, and they want to BE the culture, like the Nazis under Hitler and obviously Mussolini's fascist gov't. They're always socialists, which is as "left wing" as it gets.

In this society left means: huge social spending platforms, anti-religion, no freedom of speech, no bodily autonomy, no rule of law, no constitution, etc. Every one of those 'values' is fascist in nature.

To call someone a fascist for being pro-religion, pro-family, pro-freedom, small gov't is the epitome of stupid.

This is the result of media,

Yup. They're awful.

Again, Peppa's episode crossed the line for small kids and it's no big deal that it's banned. Gender issues are for the family, it's not up to Dr Seuss and Hannah Barbara to teach/confuse your children about homosexuality.

1. Not in every case, no.  They do LOVE a salacious story though and Meloni's little love notes to the past Fascists are exactly what they love.
2. Or like the Meloni government official saying gay folks shouldn't be free to adopt, trying to ban Peppa Pig.  You're on my side on this.
3. Left AND fascists are anti-religion ?  Ok, well maybe...  Fascists were always right-wing... the Nazis weren't big on religion and Soviets definitely not so ok on that point.  Bodily autonomy for women is something the left prizes... Rule of law is something all governments love, and the leftist government of Chile just submitted a constitution so I agree with some of these
4. Not really.  The Fascists are all about 'cleaning up the scum' ... etc.  Nazis also were concerned about the birth rate so had so-called pro family policies including clamping down on birth control so...

5. Not at all.  There are families with two moms and although you might lose consciousness at the idea, the rest of us are moving forward with a culture that shows families as they really are not as you would like them to be.  It's not up to Meloni's far-right government to confuse children about real families and the freedom to be who you are.

Of course someone who calls everyone a Communist is NOT far right ... ?

Of course not ...

Everybody is now either far right or far left. There is no middle. Fence sitting just earns one a picket up the butt. So relish your new role and I'll embrace mine.

That's just the opposite of what is true.  The three main parties converged decades ago.
