Canadian Government must support the Women of Iran against the repressive Islamic Republic.

Recommended Posts

The nation of Iran are risking their lives to confront the most brutal regime in recent history of the world. This regime has hanged tens of thousands, imprisoned hundreds of thousands more and subjected them to worse acts of torture and now is shooting live bullets against unarmed defenseless peaceful demonstrators who are simply asking for their very basic human rights.

There has been many uprisings against this brutal regime dominated by of Shia clergy which is a sect of Islam. But the most recent violence started when the islamic morality police consisting of regime mercenaries arrested a young woman for improper hijab and in the police van they beat her to death and made false claims that she had bad heart and suffered heart attack while refusing her father to see her in hospital. Her father denied government's allegations as lies and said his daughter was in complete heath.

Protest erupted in Iran and Iranian women are leading the protests all over Iran. Iranian women burning their head scarf in protest against this discriminatory islamic law and demanding an end to morality police, mandatory hijab and the crowd is demanding an end to this murderous islamic regime.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/iran-mahsa-amini-protests-spread-death-toll/

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-62994003

The regime has ordered its murderous mercenary security forces to crack down harshly and end these widespread protests by any possible means and usually the islamic Republic way is a massacre as proven in the past. In 2019, the murderous regime leader supervised the murder of 1500 young protesters including women and children.

I am asking the democratic forces, feminists and human right supporters to please write to your MPs and demand of your politicians to hold Iranian regime accountable for their criminal actions and demand of them to stop murdering defenseless nation, their own people.

The murderous regime of Islamic republic is in close relationship with similar murderous regimes of Assad of Syria, Putin of Russia and repressive regime of North Korea. Recently providing drones to Russia to murder Ukrainian civilians.

This Islamic republic is a danger to everyone not just the people of Iran. Once they soon have their murderous hands on weapons of mass destruction they will be a serious danger to you too. This cancerous organ is being taken out by the brave women and men of Iran nation risking their lives in the process. Support these brave women and men of Iran in their struggle against this fascist regime.

No military invasion. Read the post carefully before making stupid comments.

Support the people of Iran by cutting off all ties with this brutal barbaric regime. Publicly condemn their murderous actions and take them to international courts and prosecute them in absence.

You will not be spared of this regime. Today Iran nation will die and tomorrow it will be your turn. Islamic terror must be contained starting with Iran. If you are so coward not to support women and defenseless people then hide and stay out.

So we write to our MP's and suggest they do...what exactly?  "Hold Iran accountable?"  That's a very Trudeau-esque platitude, isn't it?

Though Iran is far from a benevolent state, it's also most certainly not the primary hotbed for Islamic terrorists.  I suggest you read a bit about the differences between Shia and Sunni Islam and their respective extremist wings.  Then go investigate how the former operates on a more discrete and state-oriented scale, with narrow objectives, while the latter sees itself in an existential battle against pretty much the entire world.  It wasn't Iran backing Al Qaeda, or the Caliphate or Boko Haram.  Those were all enemies of Iran, as a matter of fact.

The Shia one is in power in Iran and believes in exporting its power to the region and involves in government (state sponsored terrorism) and is the one which soon will be getting its murderous hands on weapons of mass destruction.

If you don't feel in danger of this regime who is sworn to wipe off Israel and has murdered many of its opponents in foreign soils and imprisoned many foreign citizens and is fiercely anti-West and western civilization then I am appealing to your humanity to support the women of Iran who are being killed by this regime as we speak for just asking for their basic rights

Where was your voice when women were getting 100 lashes and decades in prison for removing their hijabs? Your spinelessness and lack of empathy contributed to this death.

Side note: why do leftists act like wearing a hijab in the western world is "supporting women's rights" when the hijab is the world's foremost symbol of religious bigotry and misogyny? The hijab is so drenched in violence and hate that it makes the wife-beater look like a symbol of hope.

As I said, I do feel the regime is a bad actor and do agree it's a (regional) danger, though far from the worst (even regionally).

I do agree that it's a disaster for women's rights, but that whole region of the world is and I'm not sure what my local MP is going to do about it, especially considering how we just abandoned all of the women in Afghanistan to an even worse fate than those in Iran.

How do you feel about abortion rights in the USA?  I'm not throwing shade.  I'm genuinely curious.

You had a pretty sensible post going, then... BLAMMO! Full stupid.

This topic is about whether or not women should face harassment, threats, physical violence, rape, and even be subjected to criminal justice just for taking off a headscarf. How does that compare with a woman's right to abort a healthy fetus at 3 months vs 7 months?

Women in leadership roles can twerk upside down in a thong and it's perfectly fine here. If anything, we could probably benefit from some morality policing.

Canadian government must publicly condemn Islamic regime and together with other democracies , US and EU take legal steps to take those in power to international courts.

Women have the right to decide what to do with their bodies as long as the fetus is a fetus it is their bodies and abortion should be their decision but after a while into pregnancy when that fetus is clinically evolved into a baby (I let medical professions decide on that timeline) then they have no right to decide on the life or death of a baby happen to be in their bodies. I prefer prevention than abortion.

The international courts have no power there, especially considering Russia would just veto any resolutions against Iran.  The problem with rogue states is that they don't much care about global institutions, or what the bleeding hearts say.

Our politicians can and will voice their support for women's rights in Iran, but real change in Iran is going to come from within, rather than without.  This time the protests do seem different though, so let's see what happens.

The fetus is a fetus until it's born, so that's a rather vague/meaningless distinction that you draw, but at least you support a woman's right to chose in principle.  The consistency is nice to see.

FYI Iran is majority Shia, and that puts them at odds with most other muslim countries. Criticizing their religion would be a foreign affairs nightmare.

Why my posts are being misunderstood all the time. I didn't say condemn their religion, I said condemning the murderous regime who is killing the followers of that religion. The fact that they call themselves islamic doesn't mean they represent that religion. Hitler calling his government democratic, didn't make it a democracy.

I was frozen when I read this, if it was directed to me. I have been a strong feminist all my life campaigning for women's rights especially in oppressive islamic countries like Iran and Afghanistan. Where were you? I was here and other places condemning islamic groups and conservatives in other places.

Are you on drugs calling me a leftist or like I support hated hijab? Hijab is a symbol of women's oppression. I oppose it with all cells in my body and bones. However, if a woman wishes to observe it freely I respect a her wish unconditionally.

You said that our gov't must condemn their Islamic regime. I'd just say regime next time.

Yes but us in the West need to start first in our house, with our so called allies.

Any news from Riyadh? Are they willing to be more open minded?

Anyhow I remember a story about a conservative Iranian reporter that got caught drinking beer in Germany 😃 years ago.

WTF, are you going on about, you're talking to a man that served his nation in the military as a Search and Rescue Tech, jumping out of planes to save Canadians... and somehow a few words make him a coward, grow the F*** up. And when it comes to our turn, i hope you do more than write a few letters.

You think sending a few letters to our MP's is going to change anything considering our political clout in this universe I say you're the one with the problem, Iran will change when its people want it to change, and they will be the ones that change it. Not your letters.

WTF is your problem?. Read the post you are quoting. I said IF. How the hell could I have known he has been saving Canadians? We don't have member Wikipedia here!!!!! My apology to ExFlyer, but I have been very upset about the event and you seem to be saying it is not my business.

The Thread  was addressed to Canadian Government not you to condemn the cowardly actions of a terrorist government who as we speak is murdering its own people.

I repeat not caring about murderous actions outside your borders saying it is their own business is cowardly for the same reason that if you see a woman is being beaten to death and you turn the other way is cowardly. The former did not happen in your backyard but 10000 miles away. They arrested a 22 year old woman for improper hijab, beat her to death and then when other people came out to protest then they are killing them too. If you look the other way and say it is not your business then you are a coward no matter how many times you jumped out of plane in your life.

Ottawa condemns death of Mahsa Amini and state crackdown on protests in Iran

Sorry, I don't care about Iran.   They can do whatever they have to do and have been doing for thousands of years.

You, with your 100 years as a country experience probably don't even have the right to look outside your border and condemn anyone.

Look at Canada's internal issues.

But on another note, I do not even give a rat's ass about all those issues they talk about in the news any more - war in Ukraine, Russia, inflation and standard of life, Covid, Trudeau and Poli-whatever, hurricane in the east.   Don't care.  I am living my own life.  Tomorrow I will go fishing or mushroom picking and I give no rat's ass about anything else.
