I'll never watch it

Canada denied me the chance

I will hold Canada to that, for the rest of my days

Canadian government treats Canadians like unworthy serfs.   If the provinces can’t give their due to the longest running, arguably most successful monarch and our head of state, what does that say about our level of respect and lack of regard?  Very poor.

I don't identify as a Canadian anymore

if you ask what I am : Scots - Irish

if you ask what my nationality is : American

if you ask what I'm doing here : married to a "Canadian"

otherwise, I am a stranger to this land

where I work, it is all White Anglo Saxons, born in Canada

the only immigrant I work with is an Israeli Jew

but literally nobody cared

it was announced that the Queen was dead over the radio

and everybody just shrugged and went back to work

even the Americans care more

I celebrated it in my workplace.  Played God Save the Queen and talked about her very worthwhile life.  A shining exemplar of the strength of a woman.

I just don't feel it in my heart anymore

the love & patriotism

I'm not feeling it

the Crown of Canada is supposed to defend me

defend my rights

defend my property

that is the entire purpose of a Westphalian nation state, dating back to 1648

I just don't believe that is the case in Canada anymore

Canada only serves the elites, the professional managerial class

I served Canada, but Canada doesn't serve me anymore

instead, the Crown of Canada  is selling me down the river to the Communists in Beijing

I don't have any love for that, I don't have any patriotism for that

I am not bound by oath nor spirit to a Post National State

Well that’s why the next federal election is so important.  I’m just not sure the majority of Canadians are fired up over what’s at stake.  I also don’t know how much Poilievre will cave into international pressure.  He certainly says the right things and doesn’t seem afraid of a fight.

you know who were the only men who sent me condolences upon the death of the Queen ?

American Republicans

all my Republican compatriots sent their solemn respects

but I told them, with the passing of Elizabeth Windsor

there is nothing left binding me to Canada now

all my fealty falls upon inalienable rights endowed by the Creator in the wake of HM

to which they said

welcome home, brother

We need the oppressive, unscientific, inhuman woke-green puritan fakes out of office as soon as possible.  The joke is getting too real.  School boards assigning police to “protect” imagined victims against concerns about a male teacher who shows up to class with massive fake breasts, Trudeau showing off his flat distaste singing Queen on the eve of our honourable Queen’s funeral, children being told they’re racists or victims solely on the basis of the colour of their skin, carbon taxes during high fuel prices, ArriveCan, frozen bank accounts of legal protesters, Emergencies Act.  This insanity must stop

Pah most watched Super Bowl had a paltry 144 million viewers.

Not even in the ballpark.

Life goes on.

Remarkable really how fast after Monday the Queen's death has disappeared from the headlines. It's old news. Back to Ukraine and the cost of living-crisis.

A sad lesson for us all. The world will go on after we die. The radio will talk about traffic at rush hour. People will crowd into hockey arenas or baseball fields and enjoy themselves. Children will play. People will laugh, sing, dance, make love, and not care that we are gone.

that conflict playing out centrally, with the American Hegemon

all the central banks in the world printing their currencies into debasement

forcing a flight to King Dollar

next to come, cascading sovereign defaults, starting in the Third World

working its way towards the centre

America, the last to fall

the global financial system born in the wake of Breton-Woods in 1971

has started to collapse, this is the death throes

Charles is not going to make it to his mother's age but you will have to put up with him at least 10 years.

like you said, we are in the throes of a global financial & associated military crisis

the Crown in Canada is not actually protecting us from it

the Canadian military is in a state of collapse

the Bank of Canada is simply enabling the Government to flood the economy with newly created dollars

this is bidding the prices of everything up, when people's wages aren't rising

so the Crown is actually throwing gasoline on the fire by way of its central bank

I'm pretty well off, I don't have children

but people where I work are on the verge of bankruptcy

some of them work two jobs, back to back shifts, 18 hour days, just to pay the rising bills, particularly rent

so the cost of living crisis as you called it, is on the threshold of catastrophic

the military crisis is entirely within the hands of the Americans, from a functionally disarmed Canadian pov

so putting up with a distant monarch who seems totally detached from the plight of the commoners

is the least of our problems

The Crown is largely symbolic in the lives of Canadians, but if the shit hits the fan I want to be on team Britain. They have the strength, independence, and institutions that have stood the test of time.  When Britain was almost a quarter the size of France the Royal Navy ruled the seas.  They were the first to declare war on Hitler and the fastest out of the gate with vaccines.  I’m proud of the Commonwealth.  Let’s not forget that America also shares that legacy.  Canada started to define her own identity in WW1 and a series of events from the Suez and peacekeeping through Pearson and Trudeau Senior, but this last year under Trudeau the Lesser has illustrated that our government still won’t assert Canadian interests above foreign influence.  Well as long as that continues to be the case, I’d far rather stick with the Yanks and the Brits than China and the UN.

nah, I'd go with the Americans

I've worked with them enough to know

they pull out all the stops

unlike Canada & Britain,  which do everything on the cheap

Rangers, lead the way

Well I would be interested in a revised union with the US where Canadian and American citizens could live and work in both countries.  I’m okay with keeping the border as a security checkpoint.  I just don’t want to see Canada become some Puerto Rico type protectorate without representation.  Better to be masters of our own destiny, even if it’s already compromised.  Also, American violence and homicide rates are a worry, especially if shit hits the fan.

Well you were right about Payette.  She was terrible.  Thank God we had ELizabeth 2.  If we had a republic and Justin was head of state?  Yikes.

the greatest reason not to have fealty to the contemporary Canadian nationalism

is that it is all based on insecurity

it's not about being a proud, confident Canada, it's not the Vimy Myth anymore

it's about being a fearful Canada,  wanting to be a hermit kingdom

that's nothing that I have any interest in joining

oh goodness no, American Republicans don't want Commie Canadians flooding over the border

keep those lunatic Bolsheviks where they belong, in America's frozen GULAG
