And even if 100% of the power was generated from Coal, an EV uses a fraction of power the equivalent of several dozen litres of gasoline represents. So it would be worth it just to remove the wildly inefficient gasoline industry. Drilling, Refining, Transportation all before you put it in your car to burn it. The luxury of having thousands of litres of Gasoline a few kms from every home in Canada is wildly inefficient compared to delivering it directly to your home through electricity. The reason wind outpowered other sources is that they were turned down on purpose to let wind prevail because it is so inflexible as well as expensive. Frankly just about anybody can outsell their competitors if their competitors are ordered by the government to sell less so they can sell more.
