Contrarian
The UK has now reached its pledged target of training 10,000 Ukrainian troops in just six months, with 20,000 more to be trained this year. Future Ukrainian soldiers have been taught the skills they need to defend their homeland from Russia, in Britain. The troops have been learning the skills needed to help save their country, including techniques for entering buildings, moving through trees, and handling rough terrain. 500channelsurfer
What is arms production like in NATO countries? There was a video a while back about France planning on spending lots of money for upgrading its ground vehicle force. Does NATO have the capacity to replenish what is being supplied to Ukraine and to keep up and expand its arsenal?

Does NATO have the capacity to replenish what is being supplied to Ukraine and to keep up and expand its arsenal? In 2020, the total value of arms exports from NATO countries was over $163 billion. Regarding the specific case of France, it is true that the country has planned to invest heavily in upgrading its ground vehicle force. The French government has allocated around 1.5 billion euros for this. I think it depends on various things, including the specific weaponry, as well as the political commitments of NATO member countries. Politics is unstable around the world, political sides have different approaches. In recent years NATO did increase its spending, 2021 being the latest. The war has changed those limits, which is true. I believe the training that is done now with Ukrainian soldiers in the West, and I have seen videos about this, focuses on precision and not the quantity of ammunition. Data from NATO news channels. Michael Hardner
I can't believe this story got so little coverage. NATO now has a huge presence on Russia's border, rendering the goals of the Ukraine invasion defeated. I understand Finland was the victim of a cyber attack too. I'm not sure whether to be happy about this, or very worried.

I am confident NATO provided the best help possible when it comes to cyber there, knowing what it was coming. Contrarian
⬆️ Reuters Analysis: NATO struggles in the shadows to find a new leader. The race to be the next NATO boss is heating up. But it is a race run largely in the dark, with no sign of a winner yet. Jens Stoltenberg, the transatlantic military alliance's Norwegian secretary-general, is due to step down at the end of September after nine years in the post. Many alliance members would like his succession settled at, or even before, a NATO summit in Lithuania in mid-July. That does not give NATO's 31 nations, spanning from the United States through new member Finland to Turkey, much time to forge the consensus needed to pick a new leader. They could also ask Stoltenberg to extend his term for a fourth time. Whoever takes the reins will do so at a critical time, facing the twin challenges of keeping allies together in supporting Ukraine while guarding against any escalation that would draw NATO directly into a war with Russia. British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace declared last week that he would like the job. But, as some governments push for a first female NATO secretary-general, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is also emerging as a serious contender. Though a very public role, the contest is extremely opaque, played out mainly in consultations among leaders and diplomats. Those consultations continue until all NATO members agree they have reached a consensus.
