Misinformation and hair-brained conspiracy theories have a price, Mr. Jones - $50M and more to come

Pretty funny when you think about it.  He takes advantage of the absolute dumbest members of society, hawking worthless, overpriced garbage to them (not even during commercials - just straight from a lying rant into peddling directly to the camera) and he gets rich doing it.  He makes his fans dumber and poorer every time he tunes in, and they love him for it.

And the same set of laws that kept extremism out of media prevented snake oil from being sold to these rubes.

Now those rubes demand to have access snake oils, as a proud mark of their identity.

He didn't f*ck up on Sandy Hook.  He completely made up a story he knew would upset the smooth-brains that listen to him.  He knew that the more sensational and ridiculous he made the story, the more of his flea-market garbage he could peddle to his flock of angry and uneducated morons.

A reasonable human being would have concluded after Sandy Hook that Alex Jones has literally zero credibility.  He couldn't even stop perjuring himself during his trial.

The only positive he offers anyone is that he's loud and angry, and big noise is far more interesting to his doofus fans than boring stuff like the truth.

It's also like stamping out fires as far as the cult is concerned. If we can just charge Trump...or Jones...or anyone not in lockstep HARD enough...victory will be mine...as Stewie Griffin says. Their MAGA followers...will just melt away.

I've seen the very salty ARMY waiting...perhaps you have as well. The efforts at stamping-out fires will be in vain. Hanky-panky? Expect civil war for real. It's not looking terribly good from many angles as they are pretty much forced to use skullduggery to remain in power. So what'll it be, gents?

Hope you're well, Dr Soong.

Destroying other peoples lives with lies is obviously of no consequence to you folks.

Alex Jones has plenty of credibility

he is right far more often than he's wrong

you are only looking at the negative

assuming that the positive doesn't exist

nobodies lives were destroyed by AJ's Sandy Hook hot takes

the shooter destroyed lives not Alex Jones

lies are protected free speech

only certain kinds of lies are not

such as libel or slander

Yes, the jury determined his lies amounted to slander; that's why there was a judgement against him and he has to pay a bunch of money to the victims of his slanderous lies.

Death threats, being accosted on the street, having your home and car shot at. One can only hope that you too get to experience the joys of someone lying about you in the media.

You are free to lie but you are not free from the consequences of those lies. The victims can sue your ass off as we are seeing.

Jones credibility issues  besides having his ass sued of by the Sandy Hook lies:

"Claimed the federal government has turned “weather weapons” on its citizens.
• Claimed the government has used chemicals to turn people gay — and that “the majority of frogs in most areas of the United States are now gay” because of the experiments.
• Said people would “let [Robert] Mueller rape kids in front of people, which he did,” before walking back the assertion.
• Promoted the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton and top aides were running a satanic sex-trafficking ring out of a D.C. pizza restaurant, then backtracked and apologized.
• Suggested the following were inside jobs and/or false flag operations: 9/11, the Boston Marathon bombing, Charlottesville, the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), the Brussels terrorist attack and the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
• Falsely connected the Chobani yogurt company and its employment of refugees to child sexual assault and a rise in tuberculosis. (Jones later settled a defamation suit brought by Chobani.)
• Was sued after Infowars falsely identified the shooter in the Parkland massacre."

Do you think money is the most important measure of the success of a person?  Or a measure of their contribution to society?

he barely notices

this is not some huge victory against him the way his haters want it to be

and that pisses them off

Whoopsy.  Free speech only goes so far.  When you're deliberately lying to people in order to make a buck, and when those lies are so egregiously shameless and harmful, and when the idiots who listened to you to harass and threaten people because they believe your made-up bullshit, the Law says you can be liable.  Even a Texas jury agrees.

Gee...that sounds like Biden.

Nope.  He has none.  That's how credibility works.  When you get caught lying over and over, especially with stuff as brazen and stupid as Sandy Hook, you demonstrate your lack of integrity.  There's no accountant scoring how many times you tell the truth vs how many times you lie, with 51% truths making you an honest person.

Are you the type of guy who'd be happy with a wife/gf who was faithful 90% of the time, or a financial advisor who only lied to you about your money occasionally?  Sounds like it...

Jones made up the Sandy Hook hoax story.  He wasn't misinformed or ignorant on the subject.  He just lied about.  Once you're caught making shit like this up, everyone knows you're a comfortable liar and everything you say from that point onward is in doubt.

I'm still trying to figure out why so many are so freaked out by this.

An internet personality who makes his fame and money saying fringe and silly things. He said some very silly things about the parents of the kids who died at Sandy Hook. The ideas he voiced were terribly hurtful and frankly...stupid as hell. He's been changed and convicted of Defamation and sentenced to pay millions in reparations. None of this will bring the kids back to life. But...some sort of repercussions had to be exacted...and they have been.

Q: Why the hell are you folks still carrying on about this?
