Clueless

You combine the best features of all political orders and regulate population growth and private ownership.

Anything else will not work.

Fuck social engineering.  Follow the natural free markets.  That’s the reality principle.

Social engineering is in place and has been in place for a very long time under capitalism.

The numbers of immigrants and where they come from is all predetermined.  The ruling class is also predetermined.

There are already all kinds of restrictions in place, that people find normal.  There are hunting limits and fish retention limits and places you can go and you cannot go.   But tell people there should be a limit to the real estate they can own, and they start screaming "socialism"! Not because its bad for them, but because they were made to believe this would be outrageous and bad.

They would rather remain slaves to the system, than fight for equality.

De-regulate and shrink government.

Because you don't need it for yourself and are only using it as a tool to oppress others and deny them their retirement security.

Our messed up government is at the bottom of it again.

I still cannot swallow the fact they keep my RRSPs locked, generating zero interest income for me and depreciating in value with inflation, while I am paying interest to the same bank for my mortgage.   A fucked up system working against us, not for us.

What a bunch of smoking bullshit, if anyone can afford it they should be able to buy whatever they want. That is the difference between communism and democratic society where you are free to own almost anything if you can afford it.

Unless it scares the liberals then they ban it, like a huge swath of firearms.

I pulled them out of mutual funds when COVID hit.    Didn't want to lose it all; now they depreciate at a rate of 10-20% a year.

You need another financial advisor, and do it before you bleed out, I have many mutual funds and they are all doing quite well, with some stocks paying out 7 % dividends per quarter at minimum.

It is not smoking bullshit, because it has been accepted by governments in the past.

People should not and cannot buy whatever they want.  Your system created the conditions for slavery and inequality.  This is why the gap between poor and rich is constantly growing, although, what the rich do not seem to know is, they are getting poorer too.

Making 30% of Canadians rent, would usually mean they will have no substantial equity upon retirement.  All of the equity that they could have built went to the landlord.

Then people scream about increased number of homeless, affordable housing, rising rents.   It is all due to your flawed ownership concept.

From 1978 when inflation was 8% to 1983 when it was 12% then slowly came down, it was difficult.

We only had single income.

Pretty slim living for a few years but we did it.

That is why I may be cynical about housing costs and inflation making things difficult for people. We did it and so can the folks now, if the have to or want to.

Actually they peaked at 21%. I had to renew in 83 at 18%. However, people weren't having to commit as high a percentage of their income toward buying a home back then. The home I paid $72K for in 1979 is now assessed at $1.245M.

Hey muffin man, our governments have been based on capitalism, since before i can remember.

Well that is how capitalism works my communist friend, and yes we have had slavery, and we still do around the globe, inequality, is going to be around long after me and you are turned to dust...

Nothing is for free, don't want to rent then do something about it, improve your job, education, anything, do not think for one second someone is going to hand you the keys to the kingdom, that's only in fairy tales... Millions of Canadians do this every day to climb the ladder to a better life.

It's not my concept, it was here way before me, and will be here for some time, after... capitalism is here to stay, everyone is chasing the old almighty dollar, those that do not chase well they are the ones that get left behind. I like most Canadians have worked hard for what we have in life, and i don't want to give any of it up because people want things handed to them...like the newer generations..

You see in the past they could go and shoot as many bison as they wanted - but no more, there are no large herds of bison left to shoot.  They could go and catch fish without any limits.  No more.  There are no more countless fish left to catch.  People could go everywhere.  No more.  You have all those fucking no-trespassing signs now.

So when it comes to population and land ownership, there must be limits set , like there are limits on other finite resources.

Capitalism must adjust to the reality of limits and boundaries or die.

He's sick, right, but hours later, nobody has cleaned up after him.   I asked that he be immediately banned.

Yep. Communism is bad, mmmmkay? And he listened.

We just sold the summer cabin, nothing wrong with owning one. Where I'd agree with cougar is if you own 2 residential homes and one sits empty. That's how the Empty Homes Tax came about. If you rent them out, own as many as you can.

When we bought our first home in 1983 the BC gov't was handing out a $5000 First Time Home Buyer's Grant - that doubled our down payment. Now you'd PAY the BC gov't $30,000 in 'transfer tax' to buy a $1M home in the Lower Mainland. Almost as much as I bought the place I now live in 10 years ago.

Get outa the fucking city FFS!
