I can't abide by watching some people try to convince other people that institutions that have obviously failed us miserably, are trustworthy. THAT bothers me.

I'll be honest, I'm from the US, so I don't really know about any of this. In the US, when conservatives talk about 'freedom,' they usually mean the right to restrict the rights of the less powerful.
