 . . . I don't like parasitic slack-ass' of any profession.

Well, there's no end of those higher up the food chain and plenty of whom think nothing of letting someone else pick up their slack. There must be a lot of people you don't like.

Farming...forestry...tourism...retail... there's all sorts of seasonal employment where employers rely on EI to retain their work-forces.

And this is so damn wrong !!!!

I cannot get 2 weeks off straight, working and paying taxes every day, year after year after year.

Those fishermen working half the year and the other half on a paid vacation in the southern US states?

Send them plowing snow on the ski hills or some other winter activity to earn their living!

Because otherwise, I will look for similar half year employment - I've had enough.

Lol...thanks for making my point for me.

your point ?  did you have any point at all beyond drinking beer and playing golf?

Stick to what you do best - the rest is way over your head.

Drinking beer, playing golf and showing just how silly Libbies and Climate Change fear porn mongers are...

It doesn't pay much...but the work is steady and satisfying.

i am looking forward to dental program or pharamacare programs because its long overdue even if i dont qualify for them i can only imagine how expensive dental is for someone on minamum wage .. 8b  On spending for defence is  nothing but a waste cause our defence will still be  useless.

Thank you for mentioning this.  A means-tested dental care program paying for Canadians making less than $70K is a good idea.

Not being talked about enough.

Do you guys in those seasonal jobs also get vacation time? I don't mean the several months of every year that you collect pogey but vacation time during the time you're actually working?

It seems there are platforms within the budget that are no more than broken promises...

Justin plan to fix over priced homes has already been deemed a failure....

Douglas Todd: Trudeau's crackdown on real-estate investors won't work. Here's why.

There’s another political problem – of potential conflict of interest. Last month I reported Housing Minister Ahmed Hussen , who wants to protect “mom and pop investors,” is one of those bringing in extra income by renting out an apartment.

Global News reporter Amanda Connolly helpfully went further this week and revealed that roughly one third of federal Liberal cabinet ministers, including Freeland, own investment properties.

You’d be forgiven for wondering if the ministers’ first instinct would be to keep rents high and property-values increasing, even as cities like Vancouver and Toronto now have among the most unaffordable “homes” in the world.
