Got a Warning

I am quite new here.

I just got a warning informing me to use the quote function to ensure it was not me that wrote the post.

I was unaware of the quote function. I did use the authors name and photo in the cut and paste or the article.

I tried to edit the post to use the quote fiction to comply with the warning but could not figure out how. Can someone provide assistance to be able to do that?

Yes, I did read the New Members Please Read. Saw the quote statement but did not understand. . Also saw the rules against Personal Attack and Insults paragraphs.

From top left, the first 4 icons are for character effects, then there's a hyperlink icon, where you can paste links to awesome websites and then the " icon is the quote function. 

Just do this...

Do not worry about editing your previous posts.  Can you find the Quote button at the bottom of each post?  There should be a "+" sign in bold to its left.

I've been told repeatedly that the warnings are meaningless, and can not be used against you in the future....by Charles himself...it is him using his god like status to tell you he does not like your behavior...nobody can see them except you, and off course the mods...

kind of like someone wagging a finger at you...nothing that will get you banned...

Most people have a collection of them... don't put to much thought into it, you'd almost have to kill someone in order to get a temporary ban , just look at some of the wingnuts on here "Crazy is the new orange"

Personally, I'd rather give someone that benefit of the doubt (a private warning to calm down and relax), than kick them to the curb (i.e. ban them) and never hear from them again...

But that's just me, the guy that's been running this political forum successfully for the past 22 years.

Amen. It is that simple. That is how I would want to be moderated as a member of any discussion forum.

A good honest sense of humor goes a long way.

Just for clarity, Micheal is a spam cop. His only official role is the help remove any spam postings/posters.

Charles is a moderator, and as everyone probably already knows, is responsible for day-to-day moderation of the forums.

Prestige? LOL  I do not even know what those guys do anymore.  If anybody can tell me, I am all ears.  The last few who spoke to me seemed very confused but clearly more pissed off at having to get out of their cars than they were interested in upholding any semblance of rules.
