You must know alright. I cannot see anyone with an ounce of brains wanting to walk with you on your liberal path that you are walking on. I can see already that you are pretty much lost on the path of liberal la-la land. Chuckle-chuckle.

Not asking anyone to walk with me.

It is the few here that go nuts if one is not on the same path as them...you being one of them. Insults, name calling, cursing, anything to demonstrate their superiority.

What would you folks do if everyone was like you....no one to diss, no one to crap on, no one to disagree with....it could turn to cannibalism LOL. You would eat each other.  LOL

Anyway, while I agree with what some of you have to say, you make it so difficult to say so. It is much more fun stirring you up.

exactly

I served 16 years in the hardest job there is in the military

and it was my honour & privilege

it was the time of my life, non stop fun & adventure

all my best friends with me, everywhere I went

all we did was have a good time with anything we were ordered to do

we worked hard, then we played hard, and the girls all loved us

you don't owe me anything, I have gratitude to you as the taxpayer paying me to do something which I loved to do

thank you for your service, bro

Well, it's nice to hear that you had lots of fun on my taxpayer's dime. But dictator Trudeau is doing the same thing also, and he is having plenty of fun on your taxpayer dime. Whether it be someone in the military or one of those crummy politicians, it would appear as though we the taxpayer's will always be getting the double whammy from both up the arse.  ?

Anyone who walks with you will surely end up getting lost in lefty liberal land, and also become pretty much brain dead at the same time.

Sometimes one has to go nuts in order to try and get people like you to wake up from your lefty liberal slumber and stop attacking and mocking people that are trying to do something right like fight for rights and freedoms as what the truckers were trying to do. You appear to have not got or read the memo yet.

I am not trying to promote any kind of superiority here at all, even though I consider myself a bit more superior over you. Ha-ha. Geez, I wish everyone thought like me. It would be a perfect world then. Liberalism and socialism would be dead. Then conservatism would rule the day and the world. What a concept. We would have more freedom, less government and less taxes. Shit, I can live with that, military man. LOL. I kind of enjoy trying to stir you up also. Touche! ?

it was an honour & privilege to serve in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps

I honestly would have done it for free

I actually would have paid money to do the things we got to do

it was an elite, the best small army in the world when I joined back in the 80's

it was the adventure of a lifetime, which shaped the warrior that I became

one never leaves the regiment, but feet first in a pine box

TBH, it's not very often that someone who's as entrenched in their dogma as the avg CTVtard is can start to think independently unless something happens to them personally.

Part of the whole military shtick is to be a good soldier, do what you're told, question nothing, and never in any circumstances speak your own opinion anywhere, much less in a public forum, or god forbid, to the media.

That's why in the whole debacle of the Afghan withdrawal, the only person to pay any price at all was the one US Marine officer who told the truth. The official company motto was "evacuating so many people so quickly was a monumental success" and for him to call a spade a spade was an actual crime.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/10/14/court-martial-begins-marine-criticized-afghanistan-withdrawal-lt-col-stuart-scheller/8450536002/

Quote

Marine pleads guilty to violating military law when he slammed Afghanistan withdrawal

Biden got a dozen of his soldiers needlessly killed, the US left $80 billion in weapons behind in Afghanistan, and the US drone-striked a UN aid worker and a family and pretended that it was a successful strike on a military target for almost 2 weeks, but after all that, "The worst thing that happened is that someone told the truth."

That guy's career is 100% over, he spent over a week in confinement, and all the people responsible for the actual Custerfock in Afghanistan who managed to keep their mouths shut will get promoted faster than ever.

That's the military, and if Flyer really served any amount of actual time there, then it's deeply ingrained in him.

That's the military

the CF is not a monolith

the army, navy & air force all have different cultures

the Regular Force & the Militia are quite different

nobody joins the infantry for a job

and not everybody in the infantry wants to be in the Sergeants & WO's Mess

if you don't covet rank & privilege, then the Brass doesn't have much leverage over you

TBH I didn't have any contact at all with air force or army personnel after basic training so I wouldn't know much more about life in the other branches than a civilian.

We were all made aware of the fact that we could never speak to the media about anything related to the military though. Not that it would have stopped me.

that was the not the policy

the policy was that you could could speak about your experiences, what happened to you

so long as you were simply recounting what you witnessed and participated in, that was your prerogative

You know as well as I that promotion is based on performance and competition amongst your peers.

If you do not accept the promotion when it comes, so be it but, again as you know, your salary remains stagnant (the occasional military pay raise excepted) and your pension remains lower. Pension may not be of concern to you but, you lose higher salary as the only way to make more money in the Military is to move up the ranks.

I worked with an excellent aircraft technician that refused to take the Junior leaders course on principal. He was definitely on the rise and a good leader, instructor and as I said, technician. He remained in and retired after 25 years. that principal cost him lost of lost salary, who knows how many promotions and most of all, a huge pension cut.

So, it is not just a matter of coveting rank, it is a matter of just moving forward in ones career. Your pension as a M/Cpl is a lot less than that of your possible position as RSM.

Some may think that a military person has nothing to say and cannot think for themselves but that is far from the truth. Yes, one has to be a bit careful as a military person is bound by National Defence Act but then, if you work for large corporations you are often bound by non disclosure agreements too.  If you derogatorily speak of your employer, your job is in jeopardy regardless where you work.

Maybe he was being 'true to himself' . . . . not dancing to someone else's tune.

It is not a matter of being true to themselves, it is a matter of pride, recognition, and in the end, failed opportunities.

The loss of higher wages alone over the subsequent 15 or so years and loss of pension income could be a hundred thousand.... is that worth being true to them self? Yes, money isn't everything but, you fail your family on principal. Is that everything?

OH...OH...OH OH OH!!! I can answer that!

We'd smile and watch the economy flourish. We'd be free to express our displeasure with our governments and free to voice our opinions. Our bank accounts would be safe from the governments. Common sense and actual FACTS and actual SCIENCE would rule over fear mongering and some tweenkie's "feelings". Kids would not be taught about gender bending and people would not be inclined to put dumb-ass crap like (he, him, his) on their emails.

Things would be...normal...for a gawd-damn change.

Oh, how very NDP of you LOL

Oh and if your ever thought your bank accounts were safe from governments.... you are dreaming. Out of 36 million, those 200 folks that had them frozen for trucker occupations is the most useless cause ever.

Carry on.

Lots of ways to be "true to yourself".

Pretty selfish of you though if your family suffers because of your principals.

But hey, you can be proud that all your one time peers have bettered themselves and you remain far behind. That's lots to be proud of LOL

Your posts are all about you and your so called prestige . . . .

But hey,  sell yourself, trumpet yourself, let all know of your greatness . . . .  look down on the veteran aircraft technician because you don't understand his reasons.

Bottom line . . . . you just don't know about being true to yourself.

Of course. NDP give you whatever you want, no matter how much it costs.

Remember though, the government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

I'm surprised you would even try this one.

I need nor want anything from anyone...except my freedom to operate as i see fit within the confines of the law. I do not want excessive taxes, I do not want censorship, I do not want government spending the nation into a grave, I do not want Canadian jobs sent to India.

These are things I would think you want. But for the life of me...I can't figure out why.

Not about me at all. I am a nobody.

I look down at no one.

The point is about missing opportunities and failure to achieve due to principal..

To be honest, employers and bosses love people with no ambition and drive and principals. They love workers that are OK with just being the low person on the totem pole. Principals do not cost them any money.

So, what freedoms within the law have you lost?

Taxes pay for what you do want (you meaning the democratic collective you)

As for jobs lost to India, what has that to do with government and your freedoms? Why are jobs lost to India (or China or Philippines or other countries)? Could it be cheap labour and manufacturing capabilities which we don't have because companies get it done for less over there?

Nice try though :)
