I fear no man, only God

I would close with and destroy without any fear at all

I would be too busy trying to execute the no fail mission to the Canadian standard to be afraid

if I got killed, it would be a surprise

yet I would go to the foot of the Lord serenely

as we will all be together again, over the river, under the shade of the trees

Canada is a freeloader... How many times do we need our government reminded just how cheap we are... before they act, Russia did not even make them blink, Justin stood up and told his usual lies we are going to do it...promising new money, which was money already allotted in the last budget...Another lie.

Canadian military holds large exercise, simulating an attack on Baltic states by guess who... This scale of exercise is a rare treat these days... they used to be well over 20,000 troops on these exercises, any training is good training.

Justin is not mum on the topic, he has no intention of placing the Canadian military in any country, it would mean a huge investment, and he is not ready to spend any money right now...Besides his new teammate will never allow it...

Canada sent 60,000 Canadians to die for the Belgians in Flanders

Canadians only fight other peoples wars, never their own

which is why Canadians don't care, it's not Canada's war and never was

After being asked to increase Canadian military presence in Latvia Justin pulls out all the stops.

Justin announces his big move to increase Canadian presence in Latvia, wait for it one general and 6 staff officers. And we wonder why we can not be taken seriously on the world stage...

History repeats itself over and over again in this country, We are too cheap to spend money on our troops, it is much cheaper to bury them... and then they have the balls to come out on Nov 11, and rub our noses in it, so they can wash all that guilt off their bloody hands... Now that's something to be proud about...

Yes, we did send 60,000 troops with equipment that would make a bigger think twice about owning, Ross rifles, that soldiers dropped once they could get a Lee Enfield rifle off a dead brit,  not to mention all the other shit they equipped them with... it is no different now as it was back then, young soldiers will pay for this mistake with their lives...as they already have...as recent as Afghanistan war...

Yes I've heard tons of stories of all ill equipped our soldiers are.  Borrowing equipment from the yanks to complete missions, ect.  Cretien achieved surpluses on the back of the Canadian army.  In my perfect world we would CUT programs and give that money to the military.  How much could we fund the military on all the corporate welfare?

at the time, in 1914, Canadians outside of Quebec were more British than the British themselves

on the trace against the American menace to the south

kicked out of the British Empire in effect, in 1867,

when Britain told Canada : we are not going to fight the Americans

you will have to defend yourselves against the Americans, raise a militia for that purpose

so Canadians actually charged into the Great War,

to prove to the mother country that they were British to the bone

the Canadians fought famously at Second Ypres,

held the line in the face of the gas, when the French colonials fled

but that all was torn to pieces

on the morning of 21 June 1916

commencing the Somme Offensive

over the the next three months, the British Empire impaled itself on the banks of the river Somme

the decimation of the Somme offensive broke the back of the Empire

from there Britain was forced to go cap in hand to the Americans for gold to fight the war

and Canadians were shattered by the losses, the love of Empire died for Canadians there

my great grandfather fought from Second Ypres to the Mons on the last day

he was an Ulster Scots Loyalist

who moved from County Antrim in Ulster to Vancouver British Columbia

he was charging off to war, he was keen for it,

I have his war diary, I know his thoughts on the matter from a great distance across the years

You mention GOLD.  The Federal Reserve rescued Britains actual gold which lead to the great depression in america but only a mild recession in the UK

disagree

the Great Depression was incited by the Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act

there was a catastrophic stock market crash at the end of the Roaring Twenties bubble

this caused panic worldwide

as a result, countries retreated into fierce protectionism, led by the Amercans

and this is what caused the persistent deflationary spiral, otherwise known as a Depression

Canada has failed it's Military since just post WW II.

As soon as Lester Pearson helped create the UN Peacekeeping force, the governments of Canada have not helped or supported the Military and let it decay to todays levels.

Sorry to say but your numbers are way too high for Canada that is, Active personnel are about 55,000, and reserves are about 28,000. DND is having a manpower crisis right now with troops leaving by the boatload, and very few new recruits coming on board. With very little training money troops are tired of sitting around doing nothing...and what little deployments that there are, they are training missions. Combat units are hit the hardest, with most missing entire companies worth of troops... To bad the media won't cover that...

The budget accounts for many things such as RCMP is accounted as a paramilitary organization, and all of the National emergency preparedness budgets is also accounted for under the DND budget, along with many items under VAC also taken out of the DND budget, and last but not least any deployment DND is tasked with, and all expenditures that occur under those deployments like building schools, wells, new fire halls police stations, etc... I'd say it is more in the range of 18 to 20 bil.

CBC is dragging up old news and bashing DND once again... I guess it did not get enough traction the first time...DND is no more racist than any other government department in the federal or provincial government.

Now the Military ombudsmen are getting in on the shit show, Must be blood in the water...Not enough diversity in the ranks, maybe and I'm just guessing here maybe those people of ethnic backgrounds are not interested in joining the military. What's the next step "kidnapping" them and forcing them to serve, So the charts in Ottawa will look good on the walls.  Promotions and hiring practices used to be based on merit, and qualifications now it looks like they are going to be based on skin color. Ya, that's not racist at all.

Or perhaps Vimy Ridge, where Historians say it was the day Canada became a nation.

I say Queenston Heights

the War of 1812 is when the British here stopped calling themselves "Americans"

and adopted the French title "Canadians"

also when the border was created between the British & American colonies
