Liberals start to get it on Covid

Recommended Posts

On some other thread some hard core "Progressive" type was getting angry at me on something concerning covid and I said to him, something like, "I'll make a prediction. In another year all of you will be thinking like me and those who share my stance on the mandates and masks and passports. "They're a dumb idea," you'll say. This is good but when the logic hammer does finally bang you over the head so hard you'll have to say 'hi there' you're going to say 'I always thought like this' and accuse me of being slow to get it.

Oh well...such is life in a world with Progs.

But there's a better thing happening right now. What I'll call the softer or more rational left of actual liberals are starting to get it. I expect this to continue. Would you like an example?

Better clarify what I'm actually saying because the Prog left has a hard time hearing anything they don't want to hear. They simplify convert it into something they'd prefer to believe.

I'm not saying the truth about what went wrong with the understanding and handling of covid is starting to penetrate classic liberals' minds therefore the soft left like Bill Maher is therefore always right or now everyone must now agree with anything they ever said.

I'm saying they are starting to notice they got a lot about the covid thing wrong and they're coming back to join us in the land of the rational.

I'll go farther than that. It won't be too long after that, that what think of themselves as moderates or independents start to get it too. Specifically on covid.

Progs unfortunately will never get it. Most likely, when convenient they'll say they do and always did but the lack of sincerity will drip to a pour so hard even the softer (as in capable of reason) left will be able to tell.

I find this to be soft at best and the typical "left" versus "right" horseshit that passes for political discourse these days.  Let's keep COVID alive and spinning out variants for spite, who's with me?

Even in Progressive Socialist BC, Covid Tsar Bonnie Henry is at least talking the talk, if she's not walking the walk.

Quote

On Friday, British Columbia’s chief medical officer Dr. Bonnie Henry gave a detailed press conference where she laid out how the province’s response to COVID-19 was transitioning to become “much more like how we manage influenza” and other seasonal viruses.

[clip]

There’s one little problem though. Dr. Henry didn’t really announce substantial changes to the actual rules. The mask mandate and the vaccine passport are still in place. The key difference is tests are being reallocated to focus in on identifying high-risk persons who stand the chance of winding up in hospital.

Now lose your apartheid style 'papers to pass' and demands for compliance-facial-identifiers and maybe we'll take you seriously, Bonnie.

One idea that's going to get harder for Big Pharma, the Resetters and their corporate shills looking to advantage control from "the pandemic" is this idea of consensus.

It seems to require an insinuation of near unanimous scientific and medical support. That wall is getting chipped away and soon it will be torn down like the one in Berlin.

Right now you'll still meet hardcore Prog resistance by personal vilification against anything like say Doctor so and so said the "vaccine is experimental and one of the things we don't know is how the immune system will react long term" or the increasing number of nurses noticing things like the large percentage of beds used not for vaccine patients but adverse reactions to the vaccine. (And yes I can post examples upon request.)

This is making less and less sense as time passes because the number of medical and scientific experts noticing the current practices of dealing with the Chi-Comm virus and its variants haven't and don't work keeps growing.

Here's an example:

US Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) is holding a panel discussion: COVID 19: A Second Opinion, this morning.

I've been noticing you're starting to catch up, Eyeball. Good for you. No matter how you're doing it.

Actually, I've been circling back - you know us lefties we just can't stand leaving anyone behind.  That said would pick up the pace a little please?

Oh you've always been against the mandates and such have you? You only insisted on wearing your cloth masks because of your keen fashion sense. It's was us who refused to listen to common sense, was it?

What did I tell you all in the OP? I told you all this is what they'd do.

They knew all along, you see. Forget all the ugly arguments you had with them along the way. It's you who were rejecting common sense when, for instance, they told us a bat that wasn't native to Wuhan was in bat soup in a market where it wasn't sold  while a Chi-Comm biolab up the road was doing experiments on that very species of bat. It's you who didn't get it all the way back to when they were calling everything that seemed rational, a conspiracy theory and every credentialed expert from the wrong side of the endorsed narrative, fringe loons.

I told you all they would do this in the OP. Get used to it. There's more coming. Doesn't matter though. As long as they finally get it.

No, I've had little issue with measures notwithstanding the usual gaffes and ineptness largely around politicians miscommunicating on issues they barely understand better than their constituents.

No. You all to typically eschewed expert advice and embraced conspiracies that were embedded for large part within a bunch of tired old fears about commies and the left.

There is doubt whatsoever in my mind that these last few years will provide endless quantities of grist for the olde conservative hindsight mill.  It's almost like it's called the right wing simply because it's never ever wrong.

And you need to see this one, Eyeball. It will help you on your journey to know who's really been pulling the strings in your head:

The conspiracy theory that's a conspiracy fact.

Except it's not a secret. You people make it sound like they've put some sort of drug in our water.
