Aristedes lives in a wonderful little La La Land full of rainbows and unicorns and cotton candy trees and gumdrop houses.

Don't destroy his fantasies.

This sure sounds better than the psychotic nightmarish mindscape you inhabit that's full of dark controlling forces of enslavement and death.

It's starting to sound like this convoy is just another excuse for the anti-vax anti-measures its-just-a-cold crowd to vent.

It'll be interesting to see how many vaccinated truckers waste their time with it.

Yes, Omicron is a cold for most people. Yes, it is reasonable to consider it like that. Symptom wise, it is literally a cold. Coronaviruses lead to colds generally.

Original sars cov 2 was deadlier. Delta was a bit less deadly. Omicron is much less deadly than Delta.

The Americans will require cross border truckers to be fully vaccinated starting tomorrow, all we did was start a week earlier. Truckers had to know this was coming and they have had eight months to do something about it.

Why now, up until now they have been exempt to allow the free flow of goods, to not cause more stress on the supply chain...So what has changed, well supply chain is still getting worse, already a massive shortage of drivers, why would we need further restrictions now that will only make things much worse... This is just another example of what the government can screw up on both sides of the border..

Online forums certainly (with 99.99% certainty) wouldn't help us in this conundrum.

I think Michael is a fan of yours, you guys should PM each other, maybe smoke some weed, or a good glass of whiskey.

Good. I make my living from tourists and like the vast majority of my associates and peers I prefer they can prove they've been vaccinated.

Vaccinations and masks do not work. Hello out there, lefty eyeball. ?

We are being re-engineered for the new tomorrow. Mr. Trudeau’s dystopian vision of a nation with a very low carbon footprint. How low?

Very, very low. ;)

If all the major parties and a majority of Canadians want it, isn't Trudeau also a liar for claiming it's HIS vision?

?

Please cite evidence that most Canadians want this.  I think if O’Toole had opposed carbon taxes and run as a conservative rather than a liberal light, he would’ve done better and maybe won the election.  I think the next election will be about the cost of living.  Carbon taxes and mandates that squeeze the supply chain, not to mention the disabling of natural resource development, would get a lot of air time.

Absolutely. I am looking for a new car. Most lots have just a few vehicles with several months waiting list. Thanks Trudeau!

It’s the same all over the world. Among other things, chip shortages are effecting production of cars and everything else that uses them.

All Canadians must be fully vaccinated to enter the US now, not just truckers. I suppose that is Trudeau’s fault as well. I don’t like Trudeau either but get real.

Where is this going? What is the exit plan? In the third year, can we know "out of the abundance of caution and for as long as necessary"? What kind of a sane society does not think about where it's heading?

Something has changed about us and in us, and we didn't care to notice. Can it be reversed, would you know?

Not just cars. Try to buy a piece of furniture. Went into the Superstore and they were out of milk.

Yes blame Trudeaus stupidity for this

Every vehicle manufacturer in the world has had to cut back production because of supply issues. Chips are required for just about everything in today's vehicles. Engines, transmissions, AWD, traction control, braking systems, power steering don't work without them, never mind all the gee wiz tech they are putting in them today to help drive the car or take your attention away from driving it. I doubt pissing you off is more important to them than making money. The whole world is having supply chain problems. It isn't just the delivery of finished goods, manufacturers can't get the materials they need to make stuff.  As far as drivers go, what exactly can Trudeau do other than give US drivers an exemption? That doesn't do anything to help Canadian drivers who need to cross the border.

Milk is produced locally, shortages have nothing to do with borders.

The Covid tracker dated yesterday Jan. 21 that across Canada there were 157 deaths and 10,700 more people contracted Covid.  Doesn't sound like it is a common cold type of thing.  It might not be as deadly on a per capita basis, but because it is far more contagious, far more people are being infected.  The end result is still a lot of people get extremely sick and are filling up hospitals and large numbers are still dying.  Delta was not nearly as contagious.  The bottom line is the number of people in the hospital is worse than during Delta and probably just as many are dying.  You are not admitted into the hospital unless you are in serious condition.  The hospitals are full of seriously ill patients.

What are the symptoms for Omicron and how do they not compare to a common cold for the super vast majority of people below 70?

So hospitals serve their primary function. But it doesn't change the fact Omicron is just a literal cold for almost everyone except a tiny minority of obese people and older folks with underlying issues.

We just need three times the number of hospitals is all. Problem solved. Let 'er rip.

No.

Don't do anything like that, it's logical to upgrade the capacity of our hospitals.

Let's rather imprison everyone at home and close everything every year because of old people and obese dying of the coof. That's more reasonable.

Except hospitals are swamped. If that doesn't matter then fine 'let er rip.

Does it matter or not? Isn't that a question that Parliament should be answering?

I know several double vaxxed people who have had it ranging from their 20's to 40's. Symptoms varied from quite mild to being knocked flat on their ass for a week. None have wound up in hospital.

Oh yeah we're saving so many hospitals by having the truckers vaccinated.

Let's shut down everything and vaccinate more every winter. Old people and obese are dying of the coof! Shocking!

Maybe it's simply more reasonable to let them die.

I know 10 people getting a positive in the past 2 months. None of them has any symptom except a running nose and a rash in the throat.

It is a literal cold.

No. You're right, let's shut down everything. Every winter there's the coof. Shut down everything, every year, because the same people are always going to be vulnerable.
