Any thoughts why Trump increased his share of the Hispanic vote in 2020?

Texas and Florida, not the whole country.

Her'e why

In Florida the biggest Cuba basher will always get most of the Hispanic vote. The Democrats have been trying to normalize relations with Cuba.

It's not really Cuba bashing so much as it is communist bashing. There are so many ex Cubans there that had to live under communism and hated it.

Your link mentions some latinos like Trump's message like being pro-growth, entrepreneurial. Nothing wrong with that message.

Cuba has had the same government for 65 years. The Americans have never forgiven them for throwing out Batista who was put in power by an American backed coup and basically let the Mafia run the country. After 65 years of sanctions and intimidation the US still hasn't been able to get rid of them. Maybe it's time Americans recognized that Cubans don't want Americans dictating their affairs or deciding their leaders.

The American hawks said the Castro govt would be toast after they lost Soviet Union backing in 1989. Guess what, 33 years later they are still there.

Yes Cuba had a corrupt government before Castro but the fact is communist governments can't be voted out. I have mixed feelings on normalizing relations with Cuba.

Maybe Cubans should decide that. America efforts at regime change have a pretty poor track record, particularly for the poor schmucks who live there. Who knows where Cubans and their economy would be if the US had just left them alone.

They were better-off under Batista and the Cosa Nostra.

Bullshit, that's why they threw Batista out. He took his billions and went to live with other dictators like Trujillo and Salazar. What the hell do you think their life would be like with the US threatening every country and business who wanted to deal with them. If Cubans are poor, the US is probably the single biggest reason why.

They didn't throw him out. The Communists took over via a violent revolution. Batista had been around since the coup in the 1930s.

None the less...better off under him and the mob. The money don't lie.

It was a popular revolution. At the last battle of the revolution (Battle of Santa Clara) government forces outnumbered the rebels 10 to 1, (3900 to 340) had 10 tanks an armoured train and several bombers. The government forces just walked away, they wouldn't fight for Batista. That's when he fled to the Dominican republic and  met up with his stollen millions.

So what was the point of the US sanctions and threats if it wasn't to cripple Cuba's economy? Enlighten us.

He was prime minister in the 40's  but the coup that made him president in 1952 was American backed. He also established a secret police,  the Bureau for the Repression of Communist Activities to carry out wide-scale violence, torture and public executions.

Based on what? The childish accusations from your post-debate rants? Sorry, not gonna happen.

FYI Sotomayor was exposed as a dunce (possibly a liar, but I'm not going there) when she made her completely ludicrous comments TO THE ENTIRE NATION.

If she was speaking off the cuff to one of her own family members that would be one thing, but she has to know that she needs to be on her A game when she addresses the topic of covid to the public. She should have brushed up on her knowledge but she ended up Bidening it.

She needs to follow the president's example: no teleprompter, no wordies.

Did  you notice they voted 6 to 3 against the mandate. All Republican judges toed the line. Definately fine upstanding independent lackeys devout with stopping Biden saving lives.

Sorry, but the biggest single reason Cubans are poor is because of communism.

The Cubans can deal with any other dictatorship they want. They were a small communist dictatorship that was heavily dependent on the much larger communist USSR and when they collapsed life became that much more difficult in Cuba.

Didn't the Democratic appointed judges toe the line as well? Biden is likely to start the process of stacking the supreme court though. What prevents the Republicans from doing the same thing next time they win the White House?

The covid death toll under Biden has surpassed that of Trump.

Of course they will but say it is not already stacked with lackeys.

Who cares about those dying. If they are antivaxxers, it was their choice. If they weren't, were masks and stop bellowing about your freedom. Die how you choose.

If Biden does stack the supreme court, will all those judges simply be Democratic lackeys?

If they vote along party lines because they were intimidated by the president, yes.

The theory is Republican appointed judges should decide cases according to the Constitution while Democratic appointed judges will decide cases with a progressive slant and reinterpreting the Constitution to fit the progressive narrative.

No.   Just a fact.

Your immature attempts at humour are not sticking.

The facts stuck regardless of whether or not you appreciate being made fun of, and that's what counts Colin.

The simple fact remains that Sotomayor proved herself to be wildly stupid on a kitchen table issue. Not at quantum chemistry or hieroglyphics, but an everyday, important, top of mind issue.

You can insult me all you want but you're not building up your case or your reputation, the facts remain on my side.

Humour, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I find WestCanMan's post very funny?.

You might want to tone it down a bit in here with regards to your nasty insults and not make yourself look so childish.
