My opinion is that while Bill 62 makes a certain amount of sense, Bill 21 is a perfect example of government overreach.

Isn't it exactly the problem that you mentioned, disproportionate aiming one religion that doesn't seem to be fair? After a long and in depth discussion, honestly I can't recall any one issue being discussed in English Canada in such a length and depth, compare the election reform, the society has decided democratically that it's the best way forward.

For me personally, it would be one of the preferred options, in schools we could create another board with separate funding but what about public government offices where one has no choice but to visit sometimes? I would agree that there should be a line of common sense, and a head scarf should we fine, just like Jewish, Sikh head dressing, etc.

You mean like Catholic School Boards? We already have those.

Yes I mean secular schools just like Catholic ones that you have where a child wouldn't have to be exposed to religious propaganda, until they make up their own mind. That is called choice and freedom, not so?

I completely agree with you.

We should separate.

Go and separate. But remember if Canada is divisible and so is Quebec. A referendum will be also held in Montreal and Gatineau region and these regions will separate from separated Quebec and will join Canada. You can the the rest of whatever remains.

Montreal is Québec land and is French speaking.

And by the way you can have Gatineau. We offer it to you.

It shows solidarity. If you discriminate against one of us, you discriminate against all of us. It would be even better if everyone who opposed Bill 21, wore an hijab, a cross and a Star of David, not just teachers.

Then perhaps the fact it has not happened is also showing us something about Quebecers, shocking and repugnant though it may seem. These are their choices, derived from their sense of morality.

Freedom of Religion is the most important freedom we have. As for face coverings, well that ship has sailed since Covid came to be with us. Why is it necessary to have your face uncovered? Wearing a burka is the same as being clothed from the waist down. It is a question of modesty. Why is it the government's business what someone wears? It is almost as if the Quebec government hates religion.

Trying to balance freedom of religion with the idea of 'laicite' which implies a 'secular state' or 'neutral state' can be a tricky one. So is trying to balance freedom of religion with our idea of equality between the sexes. Trying to be respectful of all religions and beliefs especially when they conflict can be next to impossible at times. The Quebec government claims that one of the reasons for Bill 21 (not to mention incorporating it into the Quebec Charter of Rights and Freedoms) was to avoid lawsuits. In my opinion i can see the law applying to such individuals as police officers and judges.  In other words, those who are given the power of using coercion over others. I personally don't see where teachers fit into all this.

Most of North America's French population would be worrying about hurricanes rather than Ottawa.

OK so good for them, but what would it do for you? Fix any of your problems, make your life better, maybe built a high speed train from Kingston (the capital) to Kingsmount still in your lifetime (Vietnam has it)?

Remember...no matter what some Canadian prog might tell you, Canada was formed as a direct result of the Union victory in the US Civil War. Quietly egging on the Confederates like the rest of the British Empire...slavery aside. King Cotton was just that. The real King.

Well...they lost. And lost big. Now (1865 and on) there was a million strong veteran army looking to settle the rest of Manifest Destiny. But who first?

The Mexicans? Nah...did them already.

The British? Let's show those pithy fruits who owns this continent! Let's do it.

Wait...the Redskins! They're actually in the way. And they still support slavery and fought for the Rebs. Let's do them first!!!

And so it was.

ENGLISH Canada was formed by that, but Canada was essentially mostly French prior to that.  The British treated the French in PQ better than France.  In fact many if not most were fleeing persecution in France.   At the end of Revolutionary War in the USA, many loyalists moved to Canada.

This is why we have and are still seeing so many attacks on religion and churches in Canada, and America, by our Marxist Canadian political leaders. Religion is the key to keeping a country free and from becoming a communist like tyranny country. Destroy religion and the family and you destroy freedom and rights forever. Believe it or not. ?
