Green Party Crash and Burn

It is telling that there has been no discussion regarding the leadership problems in the Green Party. It illustrates the problems the Greens have that nobody seems to care. While some point to disagreement over Israel, I wonder if there is a deeper issue.

There are only two parties in this country, red bureaucracy and blue bureaucracy, the rest is cheap political entertainment, in addition to hockey and stand-up comedy.

Whoa, politics has always been for entertainment. It is our national sport. The Russians and Americans may be able to rival us at hockey, but nobody is better at politics than we are.

I’ve found the party irrelevant. I mean, who doesn’t want a cleaner, more efficient world? We’ve been very sloppy over time but we’re getting better. Slowly yes, but it’s coming along.

Edmonton is going to three bins now, the third for food waste as in composting material, which I assume will ultimately be used for fertilizer.

Yes, we have a ways to go about education, behaviour and respect for the planet but a so minded political party is unnecessary and far too single focused.

Green Party policy is not sustainable . . . . most everyone knows this.  Irrelevant party, irrelevant  policies.

In the first by the post electoral system there's a place for three parties maximum: government, opposition and underdog-protest vote. Only the math.

There seems to be a growing amount of antisemitism among the Left. It derives from several sources. The first is that Muslims have become one of the top 'victim' groups in the Left's hierarchy of victims. Anyone who attacks or even doesn't seem to be fans of Muslims is the enemy. Since most Jews are sympathetic to Israel, and Israel is, to the Left, the worst country in the world given its treatment of Palestinians (who are Muslims) Jews are bad people. This makes little sense, of course. The Left has no similar hatred of Chinese people because of their worse mistreatment of Muslims. But then again, many Muslim countries are friendly with China despite what they're doing, so hypocrisy is universal on this issue.

But Western universities are filled with Muslims who are activists against Israel and link arms with progressives over the same 'victim' issues. Political Islam hates Israel AND Jews. It makes little distinction. Most of the Muslim activists who campaign for BDS and against Israel are anti-Semites, even if they won't admit it.

The third source of antisemitism is of course the historical trope of Jews having lots of money and thus exploiting the working man. This is the same thing which excites the Right, interestingly, but the Left has now bought into it given their growing anger about income inequality and growing belief that the 'rich' are putting the boots to everyone else. No amount of sucking up for liberal causes by the likes of George Soros does anything to placate this unreasonable bigotry.

So to many on the Left Jews are rich exploiters of the poor, islamophobes, and supporters of an evil country they detest.

And the Greens, being an environmental movement, have attracted a large number of progressives because progressives are obsessed with climate change. So naturally they want to include a raft of other policies and views they hold dear, including hatred of Israel. It's worth noting the leaders of the Green did NOT choose this woman as leader. She was chosen by the membership. And it's the leaders who are acting against her, not the grass roots.

This didn't even cost E May the leadership of the Green Party, that's how much of a dumpster fire they are.

Khadr as a Muslim is almost at the top of the victim hierarchy chart for the Left. Only the transgenders are higher, I believe, at least in Canada. Add in the liberal bigotry of low expectations often exhibited towards racialized people and they can't hold him responsible for his actions.

Him and his whole family betrayed this country and got paid very well for doing it. And we as Canadians let them do it, with a few grunts and groans. And yet the vets that fought on behalf of this country are asking for more than we can give right now and are still fighting our government in courts today... well at least we have our priorities right

I wish we in Europe had this view as well but sadly we dont.
