These are not new phenomena and there have been huge natural cataclysms in human history. We still don’t know if we’re in a natural cooling or warming part of the interglacial cycle. Making an effort to reduce greenhouse gases is good but there are many other social goods such as poverty reduction, education, gender equality of opportunity, etc. I don’t accept reducing living standards to fight climate change. Technology, adaptation, and reasonable policy changes are fine. I’ve spent a lot of money on largely ineffectual green tech. Throwing money at problems doesn’t always solve them.
