I'm not sure how it will pan-out with woke science. The scientific method removes personal biases in experiment results. That's what it is SUPPOSED to do, anyways. Rejigging scientific results to better match a social justice warrior's agenda is pure insanity...but how many purely insane things are done in the name of equity? I suppose we'll all find out.

2+2=5

yeah, can't have social justice can we. horrible. lets hear it for social injustice! viva la social injustice! haahha!

Russia had long proposed prolonging the pact without any conditions or changes, but the Trump administration waited until last year to start talks and made the extension contingent on a set of demands. The talks stalled, and months of bargaining failed to narrow differences.

So let's get this straight. Who's Putin's complacent puppet again?

Isn't there a theory that Reagan's refusal to compromise on advanced weaponry - the Star Wars program and such - was one of the main things that brought down the Soviet Union?

Trump, the big deal maker! not. guess he waited too long? he wanted China and fire breathing dragons included. so everyone was left scratching their heads i guess. typical of Trump because he always figured that if the other side wasn't going to give him everything then theres no deal. no clue of international diplomacy.

Biden gets it done.

well, its better than "this is the best president ever, trust me. you don't need to know anything else".

Donald J. Trump lives in your head. Has a nice office. When he pushes a red button, a Diet Coke appears.

Not sure where you got that China misinformation from or why you think Trump would ask Russia to sign an agreement for China.

I do remember when Trump withdrew from a previous nuclear agreement there was this though:

Quote

President Donald Trump, announcing the U.S. intent to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, said Russia had been violating the agreement "with impunity."

There was some talk of China regarding that but it was more like:

Quote

For the U.S., the proliferation of intermediate-range missiles has become a growing concern because of China, which is not party to the treaty and not banned from deploying them. Senior U.S. officials said that China now has more than 1,000 of the missiles.

The demise of the deal could free the U.S. military to try to match China's capabilities in a bid to prevent the Asian power from gaining a significant military advantage. Still, U.S. officials describing the rationale behind Trump's decision insisted it was singularly about the threat from Russia, not China.

But now Progressive Socialists celebrate because:

Russia says U.S. agreed to renew nuclear weapons pact "on our terms"

Trump wanted China in START. it was communicated by his administration.

Trump Wants China on Board With New Arms Control Pact

yeah, i don't know... maybe he thought he was having a second term or maybe after all of the China bashing because of the virus he thought somehow China would just throw in the towel in a matter of six months and sign on or something. 100% sarcasm there.

either way, didn't work out.

Biden just signed on to whats there before time ran out next month. if you're implying that its better to let it run out than sign on and continue to negotiate then i suspect thats not a call anyone on this board is able to make. and of course Putin would say that he won that battle. and maybe he did because Trump dragged his heals when they knew this was coming from the beginning.

No. That opinion is not what I was challenging.

I quoted this from an article about START:

But you claimed Trump wouldn't sign this current deal with Russia because he "wanted China and fire breathing dragons included". There's no evidence of that other than opinion derived from the opinion of an anonymous source and it doesn't sound reasonable to expect Russia to sign something for China.

What's more likely is the other claim that came out in the negotiations concerning START that  Russia had been violating the agreement "with impunity."

LMAO.

Obama said it would take 5 years to get rid of islamic state. Trump crushed in 1/10 of that.

Administrations spun their wheels on Arab Israeli relations for years. Trump made more headway in 4 years than the rest of them did since 1949.

Biden just gave Russia everything that they wanted. There's no trick to that. It's just the Paris deal and the Iran deal all over again. "Here ya go guys. Everything you want. Just let me know when you need my pen again."

Off to China to get some real work done now. Baby needs a new pair of diamond-soled shoes! :D

in what way was Russia violating with impunity? its actually impossible to know any of this. if Trump officials don't say directly what and why. i'm not party to the details any more than others on this board.

only time will tell.

and if the Trump administration made progress in the middle east then thats great. my understanding was that was Kushners file. maybe he should run for president next.

i never said that Trump didn't have some successes. its too bad that his failings will completely obliterate those successes in history. a one term president. twice impeached. a failed tyrant. and from he and his supporters perspective... always the victim of some grand conspiracy by faceless individuals that no one can identify.

It WAS the main thing. That and surprisingly, the Israelis. They had a wee brawl in the air with Syria's air force and their SAM system...all top of the line Soviet gear fresh out of the box...

Arab loses: 86-90 MiGs shot down...all SAMs destroyed.

Israeli loses: two F-15s damaged.

The Soviet military budget was taking-up a HUGE chunk of the pot-o-gold. Over in the good ol' USA, even with Star Warz research going-on willy-nilly, the military amounted to a MUCH smaller fraction of the total budget. The Rooshins couldn't keep-up.

As for Mole Cricket 19, it sent reverberations through the entire Soviet military complex that they simply didn't recover from until AFTER Communism's demise.

Turned out all the machines the West was supposed to fear were total JUNK next to the likes of the F-15 Eagle.

i wouldn't begin to argue that military spending by the soviets didn't helped with the demise of the USSR. just that it was a small part because... all spending by the USSR led to their demise and does to all countries that aren't able to actually make money in the first place.

Superpowers love to play technological leap-frog, and the ever-present threat of war is the driving force behind our modern high-tech world.

That's just the way it is. Apparently there is no solution to this problem, short of blowing up buidinggs and stuff.

Extending START just means more of the same. America still using ancient ICBMs and nukes (et al) while Russia explores new nuclear horizons. NASA will suffer as well. Obama & crew thought it useless. Same crew is back...

Most American voters couldn't point on a map the countries they are at war with let alone explain the reasons why they are at war with those countries.
