In fact, most chess moves are silent - strategy moves. 3. The movie misrepresents how chess players think: Chess is a game of violence. ===== Nevertheless well made video, in Ontario, Canada I think. It's based on a novel that Netflix didn't write. There are no similarities between the fictional main character's story and Bobby Fischer's life, other than they are both Americans who are good at chess in the 1960s. I don't think you can really criticize Netflix for not telling the story of a real-life antisemitic paranoid asshole instead. I think the only social agenda in the film is to appease people who like to look at pretty young girls. The Netflix version is a sappy politically correct, RomCom on fake CGI in "Moscow". Bobby Fischer's End Game is much better. Check it out on wikipedia. It speaks to a time where people were way more intellectual than they appear to be now. You would actually care about international Chess players? The idea that making a show about a woman in a man's world is somehow too woke is ridiculous. What's refreshing is the people she encounters don't care she's a woman.
