Covid Is Turning Us Into a Socialist/Fascist Country

Recommended Posts

This crisis has really caused a rift at least here in Finland among nationalists. On one hand there are people who decry that the government isn't doing enough to combat the virus and there should be much stricter regulations, even curfews.

On the other hand there are people who say that this crisis is the biggest bullshit ever invented and only created to justify more power to the government.

This disagreement goes among people who otherwise agree on issues such as immigration that there is too much of it happening.

Probably not invented for that purpose, but some governments have certainly taken advantage of the opportunity.

"Never waste a good crisis."

Objectively, the death rate and harm from COVID does not come close to many other existing and annually recurring morbidities in populations, none requiring such restrictions and shutdowns.

Socialism/Fascism was well underway long before Covid came along.  Comments that do not fall within the current 'woke' ideology are forbidden.  Words and phrases are being expunged due to their purported racism/sexism.  Weekly there are marches, protests and sit-ins all across our country in direct contravention of pandemic guidelines but ignored by our federal government leaving provincial premiers to clean up the mess.

The 'center' has all but disappeared as sides are taken and the divide gets wider.

We headed down this slippery slope when the current liberal government took power and it has been all downhill since then.  Covid only exacerbated the problem by giving the government under the guise of pandemic relief, the ability to prop up all their woke causes with millions of dollars.

What is long Covid?

There is no medical definition or list of symptoms shared by all patients - two people with long Covid can have very different experiences.

However, the most common feature is crippling fatigue.

Others symptoms include: breathlessness, a cough that won't go away, joint pain, muscle aches, hearing and eyesight problems, headaches, loss of smell and taste as well as damage to the heart, lungs, kidneys and gut.

Mental health problems have been reported including depression, anxiety and struggling to think clearly.

It can utterly destroy people's quality of life. "My fatigue was like nothing I've experienced before," said one sufferer Jade Gray-Christie,

Long Covid is not just people taking time to recover from a stay in intensive care. Even people with relatively mild infections can be left with lasting and severe health problems.

"We've got no doubt long Covid exists," Prof David Strain, from the University of Exeter, who is already seeing long-Covid patients at his Chronic Fatigue Syndrome clinic, told the BBC.

How many people are getting it?

A study of 143 people in Rome's biggest hospital, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, followed hospital patients after they were discharged.

It showed 87% had at least one symptom nearly two months later and more than half still had fatigue.

The issue with COVID (at least in terms of quality of life) is not "how many people are going to die," but rather how many people are going to have long-term health conditions that will prevent many from returning to the workplace?

C19 (sounds like a US military cargo plane doesn't it?) is widely regarded as a respiratory infection, but in fact can have severe cardio, vascular, neurological and even renal consequences,  The virus expresses itself by attaching to the ACE2 protein, and this presents the path for these other infections to establish anywhere ACE2 plays a significant role in the body.

We just got a call from one of our largest/best customers to come down to our Chicago office for November and do some work.  This year is the first time in my life I have ever turned down a contract, but this last call will add yet another to the list.  I am glad to get on a stump and pound my chest here in the relative safety of SK, but I am not willing to risk the odds of working in a hotspot area.   We can isolate on the job, no problem at all.  It is food and accommodations that become the problem.  That and my travel medical insurance that covers pretty much anything anywhere is no longer valid out of country for SARS Cov-2 events.

No, they sound completely fabricated.  There are posters on here who echo falsehoods, especially anti-immigrant propaganda.  If they have cites they're from dubious sources.

Don't engage with them, it leads nowhere.

This would have been a perfect example of how the left treats opinions that differ from theirs, anything not on their page of thinking are deemed not worthy of conversation... Michael claims to be a conservative, I'm not so sure with comments like these.

I thought, it was through debate one could change minds for the better, atleast thats what I thought. Maybe debating is no longer a means of educating, or learning new ideas. Maybe it is just a platform to yell and shout your opinions and tune out the others...

All of those countries where the situation has got out of control again have had mandatory mask-wearing policies for several months. One can't help wondering whether the masks are completely useless or would the situation be even worse had there not been a compulsory mask-policy.

What exactly are “the many socialist and communist programs” you’re referring to and what evidence do you have that these programs are being used primarily by “third world immigrants” or that these programs cost “hundreds of billions of dollars”?

These claims sound suspicious.

Do your own homework. The internet is full of websites explaining all the problems associated with massive third world immigration. I have been trying to point this out for years here as to what massive immigration is doing to Canada but no one here really cares. The damage being done to our medical and social services, the environment, infrastructures, and our Canadian culture has been tremendous. The more new immigrants/refugees means more problems. That is a fact and not fiction.

A website called Immigration Watch Canada can explain it all to you in detail. Try it and get back to me and let me know what you think of that website. When you only read and get one side of the story the then told about the other side of the story it always sounds and looks suspicious. To know one side of the story is to know nothing at all. ;)

Sure, oh non-wise one. So we should all just listen to what your dear comrade lying leader politicians and the lying leftist liberal media have to say without question, eh? Obey our orders and commands and shut up. I think that I am pretty much safe to put you in the camp of followers and far from ever becoming a real and true leader.

True, there are posters everywhere and you are one of them who always tries to make anyone look bad who has a different opinion and point of view to your own opinions and points of view. If I were to listen to people like you I would learn nothing and be just as stunned as most others out there. Not mentioning any names.

So, what proof do you have that what I post here is all fabricated and echos falsehoods? Where or show me as to where I am making up fake and phony stories here? I can say honestly that you appear to me to be pretty good at making false claims about things and others here yourself.

I am anti-massive third world immigration by the hundreds of thousands every year and I will never back down from that belief. That is my right to do so. Don't like it, well too bad for you, follower. ;)

So you have no proof.   The internet is also full of websites that claim the world is flat.  Just because some crackpot posts wild claims online doesn’t mean they’re true.  The guy at immigration watch is exactly that, just some random kook.

So what are the facts ?, what makes mass immigration a good thing for Canada, And do we just dismiss all the lessons learned for Europe's mass immigration for fear of being call a racist or called scared white men.

I'm not going to waste my time. I can tell the majority of posters here are on the extreme right Trump supporters. I can't be bothered.

You've already wasted your time with taxme, you call him out on his theories on mass immigration, and now I'd like to hear about your theories, Yes I am a conservative, and could not give a shit about trump or his politics....  I'm Canadian not American.

I thought this whole idea of this forum was to exchange ideas and debate topics without pigeonholing everyone based on a few sentences...I understand if your not up to it.

North America is not Europe and on this side of the ocean we’ve had “mass immigration” ever since the first explorers arrived centuries ago, with Nativists in Canada and the US shrieking their failed predictions  an immigrant apocalypse the whole time.  We have nothing to learn from Europe.

By the way, Germany turned out fine after all:

How Angela Merkel’s great migrant gamble paid off

Five years ago, as more and more refugees crossed into Europe, Germany’s chancellor proclaimed, ‘We’ll manage this.’ Critics said it was her great mistake – but she has been proved right

Are you saying that the Nazis weren't fascists, or that they weren't socialists?

I'm just trying to get a clearer sense of how wrong you are.

A lot has changed in Canada since we first landed, and started settlements way back in the 1700's, Like Taxes, more social programs, world politics and globalization to compare them is like apples and oranges. Nobody is saying we need to cut off immigration off totally..it needs to be scaled back to allow infra structure to grow along with it.

Initial immigration into Germany was a nightmare, even Merkel will say so, they were over whelmed,  finding shelter for everyone was a problem, make shift camps were set up, over crowding was an issue, along with many cultural differences like diet, religion, bored young men with no work...  to say everything went fine, is a lie, crime rates went up, cultural clashes made head lines every where. Same issues were had in Sweden, Denmark, France, Britain. So to say we have nothing to learn from Europe is not true.

Most of these immigrants will not stay in small urban centers, first chance they get they will move to the large cities, some of which are already struggling with not enough or aging infra structure to handle large numbers.
