Trudeau is a snake why would he circumvent Canadian minimum wage law by paying WE charity workers under the minimum wage....People who are paid are not volunteers. It just shows you his character.

Then he hires Michael Sabia ex ceo of Caisse de depot for Canada's economic recovery plan guess who Caisse owns Mcap who received a sole source contract to administer 1 billion on rents......Caisse also has close ties with Bombardier and SNC......I believe the only reason Trudeau mentions Carney for consulting purposes only!!!!!!! is because he is trusted.

It's like Trudeau knows he's getting off of a sinking ship and he's taking what he can with him, by way of just giving as much gov't money as he can to his cronies in a short period of time.

Trudeau ....I believe gets a full pension and now he can make the big bucks...If he pays off the right people they will hire him. Its all legal....

I'd bet anything that he's getting some kickbacks from people in countries that receive gobs of money from our government. It fits his MO to a tee.

It seems that in June and July people kind of forgot about the coronavirus and now as the second wave is coming we have been surprised pants down.

I'm stocked on food and supplies for a while so I'm not too concerned personally.  Might be tough to get fruit and veggies for a while but I will get by regardless.

Hopefully they don't have to shut down again.

It was really funny how last March there was the panic-buying when all the dry food was emptied from the super-markets and the shelves were empty except for the vegan and organic food. There was plenty of that on the shelves but nobody wanted it, lol.

Yup.  A lot of times I went home without some of the stuff I went to get because they were out of it.  I overbought slightly for the past few months purposefully and now have an abundance.  ;)

Yeah, me too. If I were ordered to lock myself up at home for an indefinite period I'd die of boredom before starvation.

I go through the yahoo site quite a bit when I log in to one of our email accounts, they have their news items there. It's usually fluff stories about celebs and the typical disinformation that you get on CTV and CNN, like a one-stop shop for leftists.

Today they had an article on there saying that C19 is worse than the Spanih Flu in some ways. I skimmed thru it, there was something about how the death rate per 100K in NYC quadrupled with C19 in the peak months and it had only tripled with Spanish Flu, but that's a weak indicator compared to all the things that made Spanish Flu stand out.

Anyhoo, these left-leaning "news" sources all tend to get their marching orders from the Dems, so this could be a sign that the leftists are trying to get the C19 hysteria whipped back into a frenzy. I don't know if it's to heighten the perceived need to get everyone vaccinated, to help convince Americans to allow mass-scamming mail ballots, to boost the sales of Remdesivir, or to crank up the lockdowns to curtail economic growth, but whatever it is, if leftist media is behind it, it's definitely bad for North America.

A ramping up of C19 hysteria is something to lookout for imo.

The Virus is just a small part of where we are headed....The big picture is all the debt. lets talk about government debt...the people in power believe or want us to think they believe (all the while they are stealing some of the money) that they can print money, borrow money, set interest rates below inflation with no out plan. Basically this all leads to us living above our means currently which means we have to live below our means in the future.

The scary part is they have no out plan in this manipulation of economics there is no way possible that you can reward borrowers and punish savers forever. So basically we are stuck at 0% interest rates...while they borrow large amounts of money for as long as possible ....it was a big mistake to get rid of the gold standard as this kept government borrowing in check.

All the work converted into savings that anyone has done in the past is being absorbed by Government spending borrowing. What exactly will happen is impossible to predict because we don,t know what government will do......Basically what I do know is currency is being devalued paper money is worth less and less by the day. This is why asset prices are so high.... why have any cash currently.

So at some point they will have to raise interest rates but this will devalue all the assets that have risen over the last 10 years or so....

In my opinion the Virus just pushed us closer to the reckoning faster.

My theory is that peoples sub conscience is very smart.....The hoarding of toilet paper has nothing to do with the Virus it has to do with the Economic reset we will have to go through.

In the Back of our brains we can  see whats going on.....On a day to day bases over say the last 10 years.....look at all the expensive cars on the road, house prices through the roof.

A cop standing guard at a road construction site making $100/ hr while the sweaty workers make $40.

All the money made on Wall street by people  smart enough to bet against government policy while Main street has no idea how too....and whose work is just as valuable but being unknowingly depreciated.

Therefor Toilet paper hoarding..........What connects us all currency....The shits going to hit the fan!!!!....

Sounds weird to me.....people escaping the US to Canada........Probably easier to live by not working here in Canada......But as far as i know unemployment is like 20% right now in Canada.

So how they going to support themselves ?

If you recall these people were coming over in droves because they knew our immigration refugee system is so overloaded, it will be years before their case gets resolved.

If you recall there was no place to put these people other thenn hotels, and fancy waterfront resorts, too.

Penalty for unintentionally crossing the marine border in Sarnia, Ontario:

Fine of up to $750,000 dollars and 6 months imprisonment.

due to Covid-19.

Unintentionally...by mistake? Your engine quits, the wind blows you across the border and...do you get the boat back after you've paid your fine and been released? Do you have a cite for any of this?

Thanks.

Such absurdly punitive measures are an example of the future we are shaping for ourselves.

Cheers

We have close trade ties to countries willing to shoot people for even less. Even with people willing to send hit squads to Canada to do their killing.  Maybe CSIS was too busy or something.

I heard it on the radio.

But here is a link that mentions it.
https://globalnews.ca/news/7279477/float-down-sunday-officials-warn-against-participation/

The RCMP warned that the consequences for crossing the marine border into Canada for optional or discretionary purposes such as touring, sightseeing and recreational fishing may result in fines of up to $750,000 or imprisonment for up to six months.
