Then don't listen to them? Cut them off. Sever ties with them.

You do realize that the American president has no say on European matters right?

You're not going to answer back are you?

Are you in favor of socialism by any chance?

The American president has plenty of say on European matters.

A good example is the recent pressure put on the UK government to change their policy on Chinese involvement in 5G infrastructure. The UK and other EU countries were threatened with trade restrictions if they didn't come into line with US policy.

Nope. Me asking this has nothing to do with Socialism, Capitalism, Communism, Democrat, Republican, Left, Right, Conservatism, Liberalism.... what else?

I just want to make the world happy.

Say but don't have to do.

I had nothing to do with the decision but yes, my government changed its policy.

This is why it is important to follow the politics and leadership in countries other than your own.

Oh, and excercising your right to object to policies in foreign countries is also OK. Criticising China for their recent treatment of Hong Kong for example.

And people of Europe didn't protest?

Nah. To boring. I'm too obsessed with the question "If America is evil, why hasn't the world united and destroyed them?", and I know what you are going to say: "murica is already destroying themselves" and the answer is no. See, if they were destroying themselves, then their cities would be rubble by now and their would be millions of Americans dead left and right. Just like in Germany and Japan.

This a question that Europeans and Canadians rarely ask maybe because they don't think of it this way or maybe because they are scared to ask it. All they want to do is complain, I want to find solutions.

I know but objecting and criticizing and protesting does not do anything. When European people protest, do your governments listen?

The OP is based on a lie. Most Europeans and Canadians like the USA. The author is projecting his/her own bigotry against Americans on others. Canadians enjoy a friendly rivalry with our neighbour, but it is nothing more than that. If the United States is an imperial power, God bless the United State. As empires go, they are unique in their generosity and humanity. If you really want to see American imperialism in action, study the Marshall Plan.

The US spent over 50,000 American lives and an incredible amount of treasure to try to give Viet Nam a democratic system. There was nothing in it for the Americans other than to fulfill President Kennedy's promise to bare any burden to preserve democracy in the world. It was a fight against communism, which, along with fascism, is one of the most destructive political movements in history. The United States failed in the endeavour, but they at least tried.

In 6 months the US will inaugurate a President. Who ever that may be, it is soley up to the voters of the United States. Canadians "feared Trump big time." The reason for this is, of course, the impact the policies of the United States on Canada. We live next to a giant. President Trump was an untried, unknown quantity.

The OP refers to hate. There is no, absolutely NO excuse for hate. I cannot think of a better neighbour Canada could wish for than the United States of America.

No no no! Europeans and Canadians online and even on live videos have made it clear that America is the worst country on Earth and Americans are the worst people on Earth! They are fat, stupid, ignorant, arrogant, condescending, murica numbah one, feeling superior, exceptionalism and blah blah blah.

No. I just got tired of the constant anti-Americanism online. I have nothing against Americans, I don't even know a single one of them. And I don't care what their government does, I have more pressing matters to address at home. But I am so sick and tired anti-American comments online. On every comment section on YouTube, you will see it. Reddit, you will see it. Quora, you will see it, here you will definitely see it. British, American, Canadian forums, you will see it. And I just realized what a terrible existence these people must be living. So, I thought to myself "hey, if Americans are bad people, why hasn't the world united to kill them all?", just like what the Allies did to the Germans and the Japanese. Wouldn't that solve their problems? So there's the story of that.

And I feel bad for Americans too. I here stories about when they travel outside and they get abused at because they are American? And that includes in Canada too. So again, what a miserable existence. Why doesn't the world put them out of their misery?

Canadians keep reminding of American imperialism and arrogance so whatever friendly rivalry you talk about has been soured long ago.

Europeans don't care about that, ask Iceni warrior.

You're right. There is no excuse for hate but it doesn't look like Canadians and Europeans are going to back down.

I was originally born in Australia but lived in Asia for a long time. I'm back in Australia now. Lost the accent and the ability to speak and talk English.

My mother you see was from Asia and my dad is from Australia.

Don't care about what?

The Marshall plan or American imperialism?

I assure you we care about both.

I've already expressed my displeasure about Trump putting pressure on the UK govt' to change policy.

Most Europeans are obsessed with the US.

They watch American films and TV. They listen to American music and eat American fast food.

Doesn't strike me as hate, completely the opposite in fact.

Far from multiculturalism or the EU taking over our culture as many opine it is in fact US culture which is the biggest threat to regional differences.
