2,200 cases today.

Hospitalization nearing 1,000. Total deaths approaching 4,000.

Not sure what can be done at this point, short of a March style Lockdown. If you only lockdown certain places, people just go to other places.

This Holiday Season is going to be tough.

With people like you around this China virus will be lasting forever. Why don't you first go and check out a couple of hospitals to see for yourself if you can see ambulances rushing and driving in and out of the hospital emergency entrance unloading covid victims? Count all the ambulances coming and going will you. With the numbers that you quoted above hospitals should be hopping with covid victims.

The only thing that can be done about all of this convid sillyness is stop listening to your politicians and the media and those so called health experts. They are the ones that are fabricating all the numbers. All you are doing is going by what they tell you is happening. But how do you personally know if what they are telling you is all for real? In today's world do you still believe what the politicians and the media keep telling you? If you do then you are a sucker and our politicians love suckers who will believe everything they say. You need to show me more proof of what is going on with this China virus rather than repeating what they tell you.

This year is going to be even tougher than 2020. You ain't seen nuttin' yet, pardner. Your politicians have plenty more up their sleeves to get you all and keep you all into a constant state of fear and panic. It will never end until the millions of suckers out there say enough already and let's all end this hoax now. The world will not come to an end if we the people Say to their politicians that they can take their China virus and shove it up you know where. I do that every day with pleasure. :D

Maybe we should all just stay at home until it is once again safe to come out. I bet that you would be all for that, right. Lock everybody down. Save humanity. Chuckle-chuckle.

While there is no clear and obvious benefit to lock downs, the death and destruction they do is clear and obvious.

There's no way of knowing how many would have died had there been no lock downs, either.   There's no way of knowing what those deaths would have meant to the economy.  There's no way of knowing what effect the increased number of infections would have had on the health care system.  There's no way of knowing what effect such inaction would have done to the confidence people had in the government and subsequently what social unrest might have resulted.

I have to admit I survived the lock downs unscathed, so far, so I have no idea what anyone else is going through.

If you don't know, you should not destroy. You should actually know, and have a reason before you sacrifice all that our parents have left for us. There should be some valid reason for impoverishing your children, and killing poor people all over the world.

I had no idea!

It amazes me that some people think we are in control. The virus is in control until we have widespread immunization. You can open everything up but all you will end up with is a swamped health care system. It won't make people go out if they think they will get sick. Los Angeles County is telling EMT's to conserve oxygen because it is in short supply. They are telling them not to transport patients they don't think will survive because their ICU beds are full, so if someone close to you has a heart attack or serious accident, they might not even get to a hospital because EMT's are doing triage on site without even a doctor looking at them. Is that where you want to go?

Idiots going to ERs thinking that's where the overcrowding is happening.

ERs are actually empty because people AREN'T wasting their time going to Hospitals for run-of-the-mill sickness because of COVID-19.

People are brought in through the ER, no? Especially if on a stretcher. That is the entrance.

We are in control of our money and what we do with it. We are in control of decisions we make. We can choose to do the right or the wrong things.

Furthermore,

Who calls the shots in Ontario's COVID-19 response?

Quote

Consultant developed pandemic response led by political staff, not public health experts: AG

Following an auditor general's report that found Ontario's pandemic response is being driven by political staff atop a command structure developed by a U.S. consulting agency, Premier Doug Ford is insisting that medical experts and Ontario's top doctor are calling the shots.

A tough-talking Ford fired back at Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk Wednesday after her report raised questions about how the government is making crucial decisions on lockdowns, school closures and other measures that are affecting the lives and livelihoods of millions of Ontarians.

Are we listening yet? Naaa

Our parents, and their parents through their hard work built, this nation, and left us a prosperous healthy Canada. We should do the same for our children, but lately we are not.

The healthcare system is swamped because the lockdowns made long hospital waiting lists longer, worsened the opioid crisis,  caused an increase in domestic abuse, and made the population more sedentary. It also caused a general deterioration of mental health, and peoples ability to cope.

The danger of policies that radically reduce viral spread is that they radically reduce many other things that we need and value as humans.  Without an accounting of how those restrictions are raising non-Covid death rates and hurting people, there can be no true accounting of the value of having so many restrictions versus not having them.   We are trusting data that tells us only one part of the equation, deaths due to Covid-19.  We also don't seem to be able to direct enough government resources towards acquiring the powerful treatments that would prevent death for many with the virus, do enough testing, or get enough vaccines into arms.  Instead we use the blunt instrument of lockdowns, which destroy businesses and mental health, raise non-Covid deaths, and require costly government welfare for businesses and individuals.  It's unsustainable.   However, opinions and questions that run counter to official policy cause people to be kicked out of political parties or publicly shamed.

I have to say I disagree.  It's not as though they spent a while figuring out just how they could best deprive our children.

The virus took authorities by surprise and they reacted in the best and quickest way they could.  A lot of experts said that was the way to go.  A lot of experts might have differed.  You pick your experts.

And it's also not as though we haven't been destroying everything our children have to look forward to for quite a while now anyway.  The virus and the response to it is but a blip.

This is true, we have let the fear of death rob us of the love of life. We now no longer believe that we are stronger together, but see our fellow humans as viral threats. The really sad part is that lockdowns don't reduce viral threats, they just redistribute them over a longer time.

No they didn't take a lot of time to figure out how to deprive our children. They did it almost immediately. Maybe they should have taken a little time to figure things out, before recklessly  destroying everything within their reach.

No, I don't think so.  They had to react quickly.  Imagine if they had done nothing.

If they had done nothing, it would have saved many thousands of lives, and our economy would be much healthier. If they had focused their resources on testing, contact tracing and isolating those who are likely to spread the virus, we would have been free of this mess a long time ago.
