Will it be the virus that takes Trump down?

I used to blame those people too but I hear they have been feasting on bat soups for years. Why now?

Medieval Europeans and Asians had been living in squalor for centuries before the Black Death appeared. Why in 1346?

Focusing on the tone and wording, instead of how a politician actually governs is asinine, you need to get real. Actions speak louder than words, yet you ignore actions and focus on words, if it means you can grasp at straws to attack a politician you don't like.

You vastly overestimate the effect that Trumps tweets, speeches, insults and rallies have on how well he's doing his job, they are not an important factor whatsoever, and those who think they are a super important factor are Trump haters grasping at straws and clutching at pearls. Grow up.

Stop focusing on the words of politicians, they are intentionally designed to mislead. Look at the actions behind the words, not the tone, not the words, focus on the actions and their results, do not focus on the bullshit justifications that the politicians give to explain their actions because that is just telling people what they want hear.

Sort of like how Murika is the only country that can't seem to accurately track how many people have been tested? And actually get tests to the public in any measurable way.

Good ole Private Healthcare!

NBA players can get tested right away tho, I guess that's all that matters.

Lots of countries have testing issues, pretending like it's only America is silly, as is blaming the free market.

I am not condoning the behaviour. Just pointing out if there is a validity in linking eating bats or (mosquitos as rue has pointed) with Coronavirus. I cannot answer that as I have no appetite on feasting on these scavenges but those that do have apparently done it for years and I question if the argument is valid

Not socialist Canada, ;)

Considering Trump has pivoted to Xenophobic territory in blaming Asia as the origin, it's instructional to recognize how they've tackled the infection using mass testing.

Donald Trump has purposely and effectively trolled his ideological and globalist enemies, domestically and abroad.

As others here have noted, it is Trump's ability to invoke such reactions from friends or foes that remains remarkable, even though he has been doing it for years now.   I guess it just never gets old.

Trolls of a feather...

Socialist Canaduh couldn't even evacuate its own citizens from China in a timely manner.

So they bummed a ride on Trump's airlift instead, no thanks to blackface.

Canadians remain stranded in Wuhan as U.S. offers help with evacuation

With this virus, Trump's lies are easily exposed and they have real world consequences.

You juxtapose him saying that one day the virus will disappear and instead for infections to climb to some 1,000 plus. It wouldn't create a lot of confidence.

You also can't blame Trump for the economic tumbles. But he can't take credit for the economy when it does well and wash his hands of it when it doesn't go so well. He has to wear all this.

Eventually this globalists lying virus game will come to an end once it has been exposed for it's bull chit that it is if only we the people will wake up to the fraud that it may really be. It is people like yourself that allows themselves to be put in fear of a virus that just may be your regular type of virus. This may all be a scam by the globalists for some not known reason right now. Never trust a globalist. Around approx. 700, 000 people from around the world apparently die from the flu every year. So, what's with the panic all about here?

All the MSM does for twenty four hours a day is talk virus. I do not need to hear the same thing over and over again and again. It's almost like they are trying to convince and brainwash us all into believing that armageddon is here. Anything that the MSM pushes should be questioned before they are believed. All this shutting down of sports and concert events, and so many other shut downs all over North America has to make one wonder and ask is this all for real? I will, maybe, believe that they are being really serious about this virus if they start to ground all plane travel. What a better way to spread this virus then by allowing planes to keep flying or trains to keep rolling along. But I have my doubts that this will happen.

The one good thing about this scary virus is that Trudeau has finally isolated himself from we the people. Hopefully, he will isolate himself forever. Canada would be better off without this guy trying to run and ruin this once great country. Well, at least, one can only hope. ;)

I've been through toilet paper hoarding in the U.S. several times.   Stockpiling toilet paper is cheap and the stuff has an unlimited shelf life.   The U.S. (and Canada) are mostly self sufficient for production of TP, but the fear was that supply chains would break down for other reasons (oil embargo, pulp paper, transportation, labour strikes, etc.).

Fancy two-ply toilet paper that is very soft on one's bum is relatively new.   We had many different methods to get the job done when TP was not available, including cut up clothing or linens.

When my sister was in Rwanda right before the massacres started (1993) for the World Bank Group, we would send he care packages and the most desired item was...you guessed it...toilet paper !    The African version was very rough like sandpaper and only one ply, even when it was available.

As we speak our PM is bunkered down in his home, wiping his arse with the Constitution. As usual.

well, as i've originally proposed, Trump may come out of this alive and still a political power... he's changed his tune significantly but it may be too little too late. he's getting a severe trashing in the media due to the utter failure of the response to the crisis (how many americans have it? who knows!)

so only time will tell whether the baby boomers in his base or just those who voted R out of habbit, those who are looking at their retirement investments disappear and the prospect of 10-20% fatalities (so many boomers) are going to be a little pissed. of course, dead people don't vote!

But it was the origin.  Facts don’t care about your feelings.  It started in Wuhan.  Deal with it.  Just like when people refer to the Spanish flu, or West Nile virus.  Didn’t hear any complaints then.

Obama waited 6 months after H1N1 to call it an emergency and after over a thousand American deaths.

When has President Trump not received a "severe trashing" for even far more trivial matters ?

Nobody knows how many Americans (or Canadians) are/have been infected with COVID-19.

Trump's base includes far more than just Boomers or Republicans.    Just ask Hillary Clinton.

The media would have trashed his response no matter how well he responded, them attacking him is not a sign he's doing a bad job, it's a sign of the media's ever diminishing credibility and blatant partisanship.

Words and tone matter in a pandemic. Trump is getting it all wrong. The leader has to  demonstrate credibility and optimism simultaneously.

Words and tone are trivial, what is actually being done is what matters. Elevating words and tone above what is actually being done is what rubes do to reach for straws to attack politicians they don't like. The media and Trump haters would attack his words and tone regardless of what he says or how he says it, they move the goalposts and cherry pick petty trivial things to judge him on because judging him on actual meaningful criteria reveals that he's doing a better job than they think he is and the last thing they want to do is admit that to themselves or others.

The underlying action is vastly more important than the words, phrasing or tone describing that action, pro tip. If you are going to attack Trump in ways that aren't grasping at straws, you need to focus on criticizing what he does, not what he says, or the way he says it.

If instead you focus on words and tone, then you simply don't have good ammo to actually attack him with, otherwise there would be no need to resort to such weak sauce attacks in the first place, because you'd have much better criticisms at your disposal and wouldn't need to use an avalanche of bad critiques to attempt to cover up the weakness of your case. You would just lead with the good material and have an infinitely stronger case than you would by watering it down with cherry picked petty trivial sh*t.

Trump has made false statements on testing repeatedly, even yesterday in his meeting with Varadkar. His surly, error-laden speech last night produced another stock market collapse. The worst thing you can do in a crisis is tell people things are better than people can see they are. There is a world of difference between optimism and denial. Try telling the Donald.

The stock market would have "collapsed" no matter what he said, his speech did not cause it. You simply give his words too much weight and think they are far more important than they actually are.

If you are going to attack Trump on Coronavirus, you could at least attack the way his administration is handling the situation, instead of criticizing the tone and phrasing of a f*cking speech. If the best anti-Trump coronavirus material you have is the tone and phrasing of speeches and tweets during the pandemic, you don't have a good case against him, you are just grasping at straws because the way he talks triggers you and the stuff he does that triggers you has little if anything to do with actual job performance.

His remarks on COVID-19 have been terribly ill-informed. If you knew anything about the subject you would agree with me.

Even if that were true, it isn't relevant, come up with a better line of attack, if that's the best you have, that's straight pitiful. Attacking his "remarks" is weak sauce, attack something that is actually relevant.

Attack an executive order he signed, or legislation he signed into law, or attack his foreign policy decisions, etc.

Enough of the attacking him based solely on his personality rubbing you the wrong way, that shit is weak, and if it's all you got, then you have no valid criticisms of Trump whatsoever.
