In what way have they moved towards the center?

Less social conservatism, more fiscally liberal, less economic globalism. Trump is a New York Liberal who hijacked the Republican Party, he is to the left of Romney and McCain, not to their right.

The whole reason the religious right is supporting Trump is abortion and gays, because they feel the judges he appoints will overturn Roe v Wade and protect them from the homosexual scourge. The Republicans still hate black people and still gerrymander every congressional district in states they control to lower their votes, while implementing voter ID laws to lower the number of poor people, esp blacks, who can vote. I really don't see how you get less social conservatism except that they ignore in Trump what they condemn in others - kind of like Liberals ignoring Trudeau's blackface. As for fiscally liberal, uhm, no, I just don't see it. They voted in a huge tax cut, which is par for the course for Republicans, as a boon to the donors, but that's just typical hypocrisy. They've been doing that for decades. They're still all about guns, god and 'murika, love it or leave it'.

It's true they've become more 'me, me. me' on trade terms, but that's just a reflection of the incredible narcissism, greed and economic illiteracy of Trump. And so far it has yet to accomplish anything good.

When you spend like a drunken sailor, tax cuts don't make you a fiscal conservative. Trump is more pro-Gay rights than Romney and McCain. Trump's position on abortion is also to the left of Romney and McCain's position. Like I said, Trump moved the Republicans to the left, especially on social issues. Trying to pretend Trump is some big social conservative just because social conservatives support him strongly, that is just factually incorrect.

His position on abortion is that he wants to appoint arch-conservative judges to the supreme court so they can undo Roe V Wade. And the only pro-gay position he has is liking lesbian porn.

He is appointing conservatives who will actually defend the bill of rights, including the tenth amendment. Originalists for the win. Like I say, Romney and McCain were more against gay rights, and abortion than Trump. Every Republican POTUS before Trump was more against gay rights and abortion than Trump, Trump is the most pro-gay rights, pro-Abortion POTUS the GOP has ever had.

Randy Andy is making quite a name for himself these days with some amazing explanations of his relationship with Epstein.

The problem with royals y’see is that they’re just too darn honourable:

"But at the time I felt it was the honourable and right thing to do and I admit fully that my judgement was probably coloured by my tendency to be too honourable but that's just the way it is."

His pizza alibi has already sparked many replies:

He liked Epstein. What's wrong with that? From all accounts he was an awfully personable guy. If there were a lot of young, available women around him that isn't something that generally deters men. Oh, were some of them 17 instead of 18 like at the Playboy mansion? Big deal. Anyway, the age of consent in most countries is 16. In Canada it was 14 at the time.

No excuse for a Royal Navy senior officer of that age to be having sex with a 17 year old girl, she was just a kid, he's the man who has to take responsibility and walk away.

Doesn't matter if it was legal or not, that's not the standard for an HRH.

Edward VIII was forced to abdicate for Wallis Simpson, and she was a grown woman twice divorced.

HM should strip him of his title and exile him, she should be ruthless on behalf of the Firm, as her grandfather would have been.

Most sociopaths are personable. Andrew failed to stop seeing Epstein even after his conviction. Epstein had a team scouting to recruit vulnerable girls at schools under false pretences. I think anybody with teenage female relatives should be able to understand the serious problem here. Andrew made a massive mistake doing this interview. His reputation is ruined at home and abroad, and he may face questioning by the FBI.

If the UK ever decided to become a republic, and therefore obviously needing to change the name of the country, could Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a number of other countries where the British Monarch is the head of state of those countries too keep the British Monarch even if the institution ceased to exist? Would all those countries be forced to become republics as their head of state would exist no longer?

Theoretically we could keep the monarch and bring them over here, but I doubt there's sufficient enthusiasm to force governments to do so.

Begs the questions:  Why would any thinking population want to house/support an in-bred family of aliens?  What would the benefit be to the diverse resident home population?  Leave them in England. The English deserve them, adore them, get pissed on by them . . . . . while the rest of the world guffaws.  There's probably only a handful of residents in Canada who think that the British monarch is something special . . . .
