Rules Change on Clubs ?

So my understanding was that Clubs are unmoderated and I didn't see any rules change on that posted.

Which is why I'm asking for clarification here - I posted in a private club and my posts were removed because "I crossed a line".  That is, I was questioning a poster that I felt was another paid shill here and not a real person.

 

So can we get @Greg and @Charles Anthony to confirm that Clubs are moderated now please ?

That was my club. I was surprised too. The club feature gives me the ability to reverse the decision. I thought about that, and decided not to. Your suspicion someone was a paid shill does not excuse your harassment of them.

For the record, I disagree with your assessment. I've seen nothing to indicate the individual isn't real. They don't act like someone scripted, they just have different views than you do (something you have grown increasingly less tolerant of). They have, btw, emailed me a couple of times, not pushing a viewpoint but asking for clarification on political issues. This is not the behaviour of a paid shill.

I generally allow people to curse each other out and cast insults freely and I don't believe I've ever actually deleted anything over it, even when they're insulting me. But when you're essentially repeatedly attacking someone who has done nothing to deserve it, who has posted politely and without insults I think you're being a dick. And when it's someone new that's even worse. So argue your point and stop acting like a dick.

1. This person claimed to be 100% Canadian, with anti-foreign views and yet didn't have command of English.  That's what I remember about them.  I don't care about different views and your repeated lies about me in this regard (despite my pleas to stop) is what put you on my ignore list.  The other thing is that this poster only was around in Eastern Europe office hours.  Connect the dots.
2. You let my post stand, which I assume means that you respect my right to own my reasons.  So whether you think there's nothing there (there is) or not doesn't matter.  Calling someone a non-Canadian or a shill is only an insult if it's false.  

3. This is rich coming from you, who repeatedly and unashamedly accuse me of wanting to censor views I disagree with, despite my having wasted years engaging with you...

You're moved way over onto the far Left on almost every social issue. With that comes a vast intolerance of different views, which is why you were harassing someone. Their behaviour was not egregious nor their views out of step with others here. You simply didn't like their views, much as you don't like mine. You should go back to your protected safe space where no conservatives are allowed. You're happier there, unchallenged in your assumption virtually everyone agrees with you.

BTW, Let me allow a brief LOL about the idea that your outrage at my saying you want to censor opposing views caused you to censor my posts on your feed.

I am not sure.  What do you prefer? 

I would prefer leaving you all alone as much as possible in the Clubs section and to trust your judgement.

That was how I understood clubs were to be run, yes. If someone goes off the reservation I can just delete the posts.

That's false.  The entire point of the clubs is so members who create a club can create/enforce their our own rules free from moderation from the traditional site moderators.  As I recall, the only rules in the clubs is don't break the law, and I believe Greg also said not to post porn.

Even if they can't utter a word in English or French - like your hordes of refugees and economic migrants - if they are Canadian citizens, they are 100% Canadians!

I've spoken with Charles about this issue, and reaffirmed my original position that the clubs should be moderated by the club owners (or their designates), NOT the moderator(s) or myself.

I believe the simple rule was no porn, copyrighted material or anything illegal can take place. I also reserve the right to step in and remove anything I feel is egregious.
