When American political leaders were getting raked over the coals for appearing in blackface, I imagine Trudeau was crapping his pants.

Why didn't he go public with his own blackface BEFORE it hit the news?

If he had come out and said, "Hey guys, I did this too in my younger years and feel horribly about it and have changed my views since then" I think people would have been more empathetic - everyone has made mistakes.  Instead he just closed his eyes, crossed his fingers and HOPED beyond all hope that those pictures would never see the light of day.  Stupid.

A lot of people who were charged up to vote for their knight in shining armour are no longer all that interested. They might feel like they’re going to vote but when it comes time they’ll be busier doing other things.

Liberals seem to be buying his shtick,  they don't care especially in Quebec, if he wins re-election Canada will be the laughing stock of the world.    Having said that,  I'd give anyone else another chance as it was so long ago and he has apologized of course, however, Trudeau is such a semonizing self rightious holier than thou sermonizer who is pretty quick to call people racist when they disagree with him, that he should not be given a pass on this.  Karma just ran over his Dogma.

You are damn right. It is 20 years ago. However, it was not right 20 years ago already, remember it was at the Van, not deep south. Here are the 2 "things" really troubling me:

(1) People who were at the party came out to defend him. They said that no one found it was inappropriate at that time. If they did, they would stop him. C'mon what a weak reasoning. It was be'cos only JT was "brown-faced"

(2) JT did not find it was odd that he was the "only brown-faced" in the party.

Quebec is already in JT's pocket after the SNC. The really problem for him is in BC and ONT.  Some middle-class wives in suburbia are very upset now

Mr. Trudeau has embarrassed this country. Up until now Canadians could pride themselves on Canada's reputation. For example when I was in NYC a few weeks ago, I had a conversation with a black man and when he heard I was Canadian he said "we like you guys, because your not racist!" I don't feel I can be so sure about getting that reaction any more. The Canadian brand has been tarnished.

They will extend Canada's bad reputation, though, to a number of developing countries who, like Russia, China, India and the US, will now treat Canada with less respect. We've already seen that from the likes of Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. We'll see more of it if he is elected.

I doubt that he will ever be invited to any non white countries anymore. Maybe even western ones also. What goes around comes around. Imagine being the PM of Canada once again and not ever being invited to meet with other world leaders in other countries? This should be a bonus now for Scheer or Bernier. They have this election in the bag if they play their cards right. They both have enough on the kid with all of his scandals, his lying, and now Blackface to hammer him into the wall. Hopefully in the debates coming up they will use all those things I mentioned above to make the kid look like he needs to go live in India or China. And why not go live in those countries. The kid never liked this country anyway. The rest of the world's people meant more to him than Canada or we the Canadian people. An adult that never grew up. This fool was never ready to take on the country let alone the world. He was too young and naive and full of childish foolishness.
