The Squad Trip To Israel Cancelled

Recommended Posts

Long story short, two members of the squad, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, didn't go to Israel with 51 other Congresspersons (30 Rep and 21 Dem), instead they were going on a trip to "Palestine" (their name for Israel) funded by a group called Miftah a week later.

For instance, a 2006 Miftah report dealing with the Second Intifada – a wave of Palestinian violence in the early 2000s – discussed a 2002 Jerusalem suicide bombing under a section titled “Fighting Back.” It described the attack, where Wafa Idrees blew herself up with a bomb that killed an Israeli and injured more than 100 others, as “the beginning of a string of Palestinian women dedicated to sacrificing their lives for the cause.”

Miftah promote the BDS movement, as do Tlaib and Omar.

The two were banned from entering by the Israeli gov't, Tlaib said that she needed to go there to see her Granmdmother one last time, so the Israelis offered to give her entry on compassionate reasons, then Tlaib declined.

Side note, Palestine just made their position on LGBTQ official:

The Palestinian Authority has reportedly banned members of a Palestinian LGBTQ community from holding events in the West Bank, and further threatened to arrest members for activities authorities called “harmful” to the ideals of society.

The irony of all this is that if the Mufti & crew had accepted the 1947 UN Partition Plan, they'd own Tel Aviv right now.

But, no...the Mufti & friends were having none of that sharing with the Jews jazz. The pie was to be all theirs. They wanted Jordan too...but that's another tale.

War was the answer. It's STILL their answer.

These two terrorist supporters have no interest in sharing with the Jews, either. The "grandmother thing" pretty much proves Israel's point.

The Squad are doing such a good job of blowing the Democrats up, I salute them for their service to the right wing reactionary forces /salutes

Ilhan Omar has 9% approval rating in key swing states, and AOC has 22% approval rating in key swing states. They couldn't do a better job sabotaging the Democrats if they were Republican moles.

They understand the game, the game being to get yourself reelected in your own district, the Party is Nancy Pelosi's problem.

Even in that game, they aren't doing that well, they aren't that popular, even in their own districts. If their districts weren't so heavily Democrat, they never would have gotten elected in the first place. They could get primary'd and lose, at the pace they are pissing off Democrats, wouldn't be terribly surprising.

They gotta dance with the people that brung them, they are very niche, but that's who they are, Millennial Bernie Bros, I don't think it would help for them to try to shine people on and split the baby.

Well, they can get away with it being in D +30 districts, but they'd be wise to dial back the crazy far lefty stuff a little, if they ever want to be anything more than a congressman. As they increase their name recognition, it is driving more and more people to disapprove of them, and at this point they'd be lucky to ever win a Senate race. They already got the Bernie Bros on lock, going further left isn't going to win them anymore votes with them, they are already maxed out there.

If they just want to be a fringe voice sucking up media attention to entrench themselves in their own districts, that seems to be the plan, but they still might to avoid pissing off the Democrats enough that they try and throw them under the bus. Their calibration seems a bit off at the moment.

Those forty million or so Chinese he killed were not Commies, those were hapless victims.

Koba was a right wing nutjob at heart.

Ah, so communism was a choice?

Bear in mind that when Stalin was still just Koba, he was basically just a bank robber, it was Lenin who made Koba into Stalin, and Koba was aware.

Koba was a Georgian criminal, lowest of the low, Lenin made him into the Soviet Generalissimo, but that was literally just a character that Koba played on tv.

"Stalin" man of steel, that was just a front.  Soviet Superman was just a role to be played.

That being said, "Koba" was an heroic figure as well, because "Koba" is Georgian Robin Hood.

Is she?  I don't follow them that closely, AOC should distance herself, I mean; "AOC" is literally a brand now.

Not to mention she is not too hard on the eyes :)

She isn't distancing herself from the other members of The Squad, but she should.

Not sure why some people are under the impression that she is doing that.
