Please read my posts more carefully.  I said not conclusive.

I am aware of what you said, Michael. You are a card-carrying progressive, and I respect that.

If I am in Southern Ontario this winter, maybe we can hit a Chick-Fil-A. My treat.

If you were aware of it, why did you say I did something that I didn't do ?  You don't know anything about me.  Maybe you know that I like to discuss things more precisely than you, but I'm not sure.

This is precisely why I want to treat you to a delicious meal at Chick-Fil-A When I come to Toronto next spring.

Michael, you are my friend. I would love to discuss political issues with you, while enjoying some delicious, mouth-watering chicken.

I’ve always wondered why progressives seem to hate Chick-Fil-A with such a vengeance.  Does anybody know the reasons behind the hate?  Because I just don’t get it.

Maybe there's just nothing to get. The sense you people have that this vast swath of humanity known as progressives spend all their time worrying about stupid shit like this is just another example of the nonsensical groupthink sloshing around the echo-chamber you all wallow in.

Whoooohooooo - it's coming!

U.S. fast food brand Chick-fil-A announces plans for Canadian expansion

https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/chick-fil-a-canadian-expansion-1.4761183

I do hope so!   It'll be a great roll-model for what a perfect employment would be like!   Most important of all -

BUSINESS CLOSED ON  SUNDAYS!

Let's hope that the progressive SJW's do not try to stop Chick from opening up in Canada. Chick can be seen as being a Trump supporting outlet and that is a no-no in America and in Canada today. Why some Canadians go bonkers over what Trump says and does is beyond me but yet comrade Trudeau gets a pass with them? Canadians??????

Trudeau will probably try to ban it, seeing that it's quite anti his beloved LGBTQ.  He might try to do what San Antonio did, banning it from opening at the airport............... after all  Trudeau had shown he's not above persecuting Christians, or anyone who don't agree with his abortion rights.

I think you misconstrued my post.  I personally don't care about what religious inclinations a restaurant has.  I'm more concerned with value and the quality of food.

And so many people agree with you, thus the company's growth.  Unless of course so many people are also making a statement and applauding Chick Fil A's right to expression and religion, thus calls for boycott by the fascist progressives are not only ignored, but actually pointedly, countered!

I don't usually follow threads nor read all posts, so yes I misunderstood where you're coming from.   Sorry.

I remember a few years back where there was some ANTIFA like commie thugs that were trying to shut down a Chick-Fil -A over gay rights issues and it backfired. That restaurant picked up more business. I always say that when the leftists liberal media go after anybody then one should always go with the ones that they go after and attack. The alt-left liberal media can never be trusted anymore in what they say and they are pretty much a danger to freedom of expression and they know it but they could care less. Those comrade Trudeau bought off media paychecks is all that those people in the media care about those rotten creeps. Give them some so called racist looking incident and they will go bonkers over it. Yet some Islamic Imam can say kill all Jews and the alt-left liberal media could care less and will avoid reporting on it. Why Muslims seem to be getting a pass for their hatred towards Jews or the rest of us infidels and wanting to kill us all is beyond me. But hey, what more can be said, eh? :)

I guess that if comrade Trudeau has his way Chick-Fil-A would probably never make it to Canada. I am pretty sure that here in BC the socialist NDP government party would not want to have a Chick-Fil-A come to BC. Too much Christian for them to handle. The NDP are very pro LGBTQXYZAND and very anti-conservative/anti-straight/anti-business as far as I am concerned. There are many Red Lobster locations in Canada but for some reason there are none in BC. I wonder why? Are the owners Christian also by chance? Is there just too much red tape and too many special minority interest groups to have to deal with to try and get a business like the Red lobster up and running here in wonderful, beautiful socialist BC? I can only hope that one day we will have a Chick-Fil-A and a Red Lobster restaurant open up here in BC. But as long as there is an NDP socialist party governing BC, I doubt that we will ever see any of those two restaurants open up here in BC in the near future. Aw well.

I think the owner has also spent a lot of money fighting against recognition of human rights for gay people. Businesses that engage in extreme politics will often find they alienate a good number of potential customers.

The homosexuals in Canada have again demonstrated against the opening up of a Chick Fil A restaurant in Toronto and they are showing just how much they believe in freedom of expression and belief. What is with these anti freedom of conscious sick people anyway? Is no one allowed to have a politically incorrect opinion anymore in this country without being attacked for their politically incorrect views and opinions? If some business is against something than it should be left at that. it's their own business.

Walmart is now against gun owners and have decided to not sell gun ammunition anymore in their stores. We won't see pro heterosexual gun owners demonstrating in front of anti gun owner Walmart stores anytime soon who are mostly made up of Republican conservatives. Maybe they should. The only thing Walmart has done here is to give more small gun business owners more business now, and they have not stopped anything. Gun violence will continue on in America as long as there are idiots out there who feel that they have been wrong done by and have to go out and shoot a bunch of people. Don't blame the gun. Blame the idiot who uses that gun to kill people with. What happened to the old days when one could say that they were liberal or conservative and no one gave a dam?

I hope that Chick Fil A does well in Toronto despite those LGPTFGQJAT gangs of SJW thugs who seem to feel that we all should just love them and their gay lifestyle. Go away, leave this heterosexual person alone. I hope that one day soon Chick opens up a restaurant here in Vancouver. I will bet that the gays here in Vancouver will be out there in full force trying to shut down Chick if they could. I will personally go to Chick on that opening day and walk past those thugs and buy myself some chicken. These gay communists need to be stopped in their tracks. There is no room for their bigotry and hatred being showed by these gay thugs who do not believe that everyone has a right to their opinion and free expression here in Canada.

if you don't like Chick Fil A then don't go there. STAY AWAY. :P

That's not what's happening. First, the owner is not the company. The company itself treats everyone pretty well. Second, people are not just boycotting, they're demanding other people not eat there, and harassing those who ignore them. They're also trying to prevent the company from opening new restaurants.

That is not freedom of speech, that is the seething hatred of the Left towards anyone who expresses speech with which they disagree.

If that's true, there are laws against harrassment. There are even laws against expressing seething hatred in this country. The rest is just free expression, which I'm still in favour of.

Today's unions are only interested in the middle class.

Well, I admit they're certainly not interested in the poor. But I would submit they don't really care about the middle class, either. The union leaders I've met and worked with were ideological far left zealots whose only real interest was advancing their own political agendas, usually related to anti-capitalism, support for third world dictatorships, and a general anti-white, anti-Christian sentiment on behalf of all other identity groups.

Yes.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oshawa_(electoral_district)  Big union town... went from NDP to Liberal to Conservative it looks like

Sure, unions have been successful so they create a middle class with means that becomes more conservative because they have more money. That doesn't mean unions aren't interested in expanding into underrepresented sectors though. They have just been increasingly blocked from doing so.

By 'they' I mean union members.
