The road to 2020

A two party-system combined with identity politics isn't a very good combination. In many Democrat-controlled areas where government is absolutely dismal they still won't vote for the other party because you just don't do that in identity politics.

Having said that, haven't almost all the short-lived third party-projects been about parties being ones thinking the Republicans are too soft and not enough right wing?

Surely you’re not trying to normalize post-election violence already???!

Post election violence was "normalized" in the U.S. a very long time ago.   A Canadian national tried to poison Trump with ricin just a while back.

Oh ok so just for the record your position is: any shootings, bombings, massacres, acts of terrorism that occur are “situation normal, nothing to see here’”

Is that right?

Shootings ?     ...check

Bombings ?     ...check

Massacres ?    ...check

Terrorism ?      ...check

Hell, these things even happen in Canada, not just the United States and other nations.

Do you deny that a Canadian recently tried to kill President Trump and law enforcement officials by mailing ricin to them.   Accordingly....

Ricin terror attack ?   ...check

Ok so USA = Somalia

...Or Lebanon

Hilarious.   Well  I guess you have to lay the ground work to normalize the right wing violence that’s to come  “Nothing to see here this is totally normal!”

American cities, in particular, have been grossly mismanaged by largely Democratic administrations which are both corrupt and incompetent. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Fransisco, and Seattle being prime examples. new York city spends massive amounts per student yet somehow still winds up with a horrible public education system.

I don't see that happening this time around. You can't get much further to the right than this bunch and have a chance to get elected. Maybe the Qanon party will form and Trump will lead it. That ought to be good for a laugh.

The New York Post has been a full throated Trump organ for the last five years. Today, in a fawning editorial, it praises Trump for his 'legacy', then tells him to shut up about a 'stolen election'.

The math is looking near-impossible for President Trump to win re-election. But he should take pride in what he’s done for the nation and the world these last four years. It’s a legacy he could easily run on in 2024 — if he quits the conspiracy-addled talk of a “stolen” election.

...

But the president’s aides have shown no evidence that the election was “stolen.” Where Trump won several key states by razor-thin margins to take the White House in 2016, Biden seems to have done the same this year. It undermines faith in democracy, and faith in the nation, to push baseless conspiracies. Get Rudy Giuliani off TV. Ask for the recounts you are entitled to, wish Biden well, and look to the future.

If Trump persists in wild talk to the contrary, he’ll lead his people into irrelevance and marginalize his own voice. His years in the White House have transformed the nation, but refusing to let go now will make it easier for his enemies to undo it all.

Has nothing to do with being "right wing"...the U.S. was founded by getting very violent with your previous empire and violently kicking the king's ass.

Protesters, rioters, cop killing, and arson are a favourite with the "left wing" too....long before Trump.

So I don't have to normalize anything...history has already done so.

..and that's one reason why Canada watches so intently.

So if some states declared civil war tomorrow and started marching troops on DC you’d be like “we’ve had civil war before, this is totally normal”?

You’re pointing to a handful of extreme events from two and half centuries of history that are remembered  precisely because they were NOT normal.

Wrong again...you obviously know little about U.S. history and consistent "violence" throughout.    We still held an election despite the Civil War, and many other wars, insurrections, assassinations, riots, mass murders, natural disasters, and Canadian terror attacks.

States don't declare civil war.   Did Quebec declare civil war ?   Is a "nation within a nation" totally normal ?     Yes...in Canada.

See how that works ?

We don't have a civil war in Canada.  We never have.  Quebec is not a nation on its own, it still is govenered by the Canadian constitution.

Yes there is a sovereignty movement still alive in Quebec but it has never had sufficient momentum to take effect.

Thank you for proving my point....Quebec's status has been "normalized" in Canada.

Accordingly, any post election violence has been "normalized" in the United States.

The U.S. is a violent nation...always has been...no reason to expect that to change.

Yup.  Only thing that changes is what you call things, like the presidents house for example.

Exactly I stated...civil war was not declared.   But the permanent state of discontent with Quebec has been "normalized".    Same goes for circumstances in the USA.

Im talking about when right wing militia groups start killing people and committing acts of terrorism because Trump didn’t win. You’re going to say “this is totally normal, everything’s fine!”  Right?

Arkansas police chief resigns after calling for violence against Democrats

An Arkansas police chief who posted calls for violence against Democrats on social media resigned from his job on Saturday.

Lang Holland, who was police chief of the roughly 1,300-person city of Marshall, Arkansas, drew outrage from both local residents and people around the country after making ominous comments online in recent days. In addition to repeatedly saying Democrats should be killed, he shared memes from conspiracy theory QAnon and claimed that the election was being stolen.

"Death to all Marxist Democrats," Holland posted on Parler, a new social media site popular with conservatives and used as an alternative to Twitter. "Take no prisoners leave no survivors!!"

One image he shared depicted a group of Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, wearing prison jumpsuits. Under the image he wrote: "I pray all those in that picture hang on the gallows and are drawn and quartered!!!! Anything less is not acceptable."

CNN could not reach Holland for comment. His Parler account was made private on Saturday.

Marshall Mayor Kevin Elliott issued a statement Saturday stating Holland had resigned from his position, effective immediately.

Trump is just buying time between now to January to cover his ass and FBI enquiries into his dodgy dealings. The court proceedings takes time to keep him immune against these allegations. This whole “election fraud” thing is just a disguise for the sheeps who are still thinking that he won the the election.

Sounds like the Republican Red states to me

Poorest states have Republican legislatures, and richest have Democratic ones
