Britain had the largest economy of the world in 1913, largest population in the world too, 412 million, 23% of the worlds population at the time, with 24% of the territory.

The First World War brought the British down, it wasn't the Americans who did it to them, they did it to themselves, on the directive of Churchill, in the name of Belgian Neutrality.

Well that neutrality has served to contain Germany in the long run, as the Benelux countries were the start of the European Union that was largely created to denationalize Europe.  Britain retained her central bank and is in the process of reclaiming complete independence, so Churchill had great foresight.

Churchill was a warmongering fool who caused a Franco-Prussian war to escalate into back to back World Wars which destroyed Britain and Europe, killing 70 million people in the process and leaving the Americans as the last Hegemon standing at the end.

Don’t pin Austro-Hungarian and Prussian nationalism and Nazism on Churchill.  He read the tea leaves and took action.  Hitler literally wanted to murder all Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, cognitively low, disabled, and eventually all Slavs.  He had a twisted belief system that was a mixture of anti-Zionism, Norse mysticism, and heraldic-Teutonic-Aryan ethno-nationalism that required constant human sacrifice and war.  Churchill saw the plans, the pocket battleships and armament buildup that skirted the rules of the Treaty of Versailles.  Yes the carpet bombing of Dresden and Hamburg were atrocious, but they were retaliation for the Battle of Britain and Hitler’s Blitzkreig through Europe.

If Britain doesn't enter the first war at the behest of Churchill, there is no Second World War.   It  wouldn't have been a First World War if Britain had stayed out as the Liberal coalition government wanted to do, before Churchill insisted they enter the war or else he was crossing the floor to the Tories.

Furthermore Kaiser Bill wasn't the villain, the Kasierreich was more civilized than Britain, France or certainly Russia.

The Germans had the first welfare state for their workers, the Germans had the highest standard of living of them all, until the British destroyed them for the Russian Czar.

Even in terms of the Jews, the Kaiser was the protector of the Jews, that's why so many of them fled from Russia to Germany.

The Jews fought proudly for Germany in the First World War, the Freikorps/Nazis only scapegoated them after the crushing defeat inflicted by the British blockade.

Interesting. Stupid on her behalf. I have no time for the NDP (or any other political party), but one bigot does not provide a brush to paint the entire bunch. So your generalization isd hardly accurate.

That article contains no proof of rampant anti-Semitism in the NDP. Allegations and smears, but no proof.

In fact, anti-Semitism and racism were addressed very early in the labour union movement: 'We can't stand together to face the company if we stand divided against each other.'

Where's the headline that says PC candidates PROVE the NDP ignored anti-Semitism within the party?  Accusations are a dime a dozen.

Democrats are as far to the right of the NDP as the PC's.

In another election yesterday, the NL Liberals won half the seats and vow to form a minority government:

Not much public enthusiasm was in evidence during the campaign. The spectre of provincial debt and deficits hung over the contest.

Complete nonsense and intellectually lazy.  The Green New Deal is hardly far right of the NDP.  Either is Medicare for all.  Either is a wealth tax.  That platitude might make you feel good, but it’s just not true at all.

US Democrats are not that different from US Repugnicans. They just don't have the Repug's hatred of women. NDP are flakes like the Greens.

Canadian Liberals are no different than Conservatives ... they all work on behalf of large corporations, not for us.

NDP are clear that they work on behalf of working people.

Greens are clear that they work with business to improve environmental conditions for us, and transition to a green economy.

Clarity is good.

We don't get that from the Lib-Cons.

If you don’t work the NDP are great: more freebies paid for by taxes on workers.

This sort of ridiculous nonsensical conservative meme is apparently one of the factors that motivated people to upset right-wing electoral expectations in the EU.

Thanks for keeping up the effort.

Hey it has its virtues.  Many people weigh up whether it’s worth hauling ass to work every day.  If the benefits are good enough, why not let other suckers do the heavy lifting?

Some folks take a perverse pride in 'rowing their own boat' . . . . in other words, looking after themselves. It was this attitude that our forefathers had when Canada was being explored and settled. Canadian socialist governments have spawned a population of slack-assed, entitled, ne'er-do-well's . . .

Your attitude is showing in your distasteful post . . .

I hope my sarcasm was obvious.  Clearly the best cure for unemployment is a job and we have to be careful not to incentivize unemployment, which the NDP tend to do through excessive benefits.  The burden falls on taxpayers who already have a high burden in Canada.  If government can't meet social priorities through current spending levels, they're behaving irresponsibly imo.

What do you think the value would have been of the land grants ...

our forefathers had when Canada was being explored and settled

That was certainly a big hand-up for them, don't you think?

It seems the Left Wing Media is focused on demonising the UPC (Right Wing) party of Alberta.  Leftists can't respect the opinions of people with different points of view and values.  The values of right to life, marriage only between a man and woman as God intended, pipelines and economy for families of Western Canada, and sensible controlled immigration policies, and reverse discrimination are just but a few of these issues.  We are becoming a Godless nation.  Never, since World War 2 has this country we call Canada been in a more troubled time.  Let's hope and pray that the NDP do not get into power for a second term in Alberta and that they and the Liberals fail in their bid for a second term of government within Canada.  The country needs real leadership.

I agree, i live in bc and gas prices are going up ($1.89/L WHERE I LIVE!!!!!)  because these godless people who want to taint God's word with SSM, Transgender Rights and loose immigration polocies. if god had wanted us to marry another man, he would have put adam and steve not adam and eve. BUT HE DIDNT. we are entitled to right of life, to keep marriage sacred and to use the land god gave to us to prosper and live as good, proper, god fearing men. The liberals have been stalling us on this pipeline with stupid things like land claims, i dont see any indians anymore, the few that i ever come across were outside a liquor store, so really does it matter if a few drunk indians "lose their land" if it means the rest of us real people can have a lower cost of living? the price of a house here several millions of dollars and to rent an apartment is atleast 2200 a month, on top of all that the food is expensive and the GAS IS PRICED LIKE IT WAS GOLD. $1.89 a litre WE NEED TO END THIS CRISIS
