ive notice that not a single anti-bush advocate has addressed the original post, no, the only thing ive seen is attacks on the charachter of bush or attacks on the original poster. Is anyone going to actually address the main point?

That's a great point. But you have to put yourself in the mind of the anit-Bush zealot. It's not about anything or anyone else. It's only about George W Bush. And it doesn't even have to be the truth. Consider the pseudo-budget "slashing", and the pseudo-racism charges. The anti-Bush zealot ignores reality. The anti-Bush zealot is trained to block out all other information much the same way a professional athlete is trained to ignore the crowd and focus on the task at hand. If George Bush is even just 0.0001% part of a specific problem, that counts as 100% to the anti-Bush zealot, 100% of the time.

i made this post earlier, it goes into detail as to where the blame trully lies for this particualr event.

I have responded to this on numerous occasions, to the effect that as this is a national forum and we know little or nothing about local politics in that part of the world we really can't say one way or the other. If local officials were at fault then they will be roasted by the local electorate. But regardless of their degree of guilt in this it does not erase the lousy job FEMA did. It does not take away from the fact that 5 of the top 8 positions in FEMA are Bush cronies with no experience with disaster relief. It does not excuse Bush slashing the budget for flood relief either.

In other words, it's irrelevent.

ive given up on seeing anything semi-logical out of this thread, i post a well thoughtout post in BOTH subjects complete with sources and nobody even addressed it, all that was said was "we dont know how local Lousinia government is run" well DUH! thats why i posted what i did it gives you a great glimpse at how its run. Everything that was in that article was sourced to credible new agencies. Yet all i see is flames on bush or on people who defend him. Consquently, i consider this a dead issue, my points are valid, they have not been contested in a manner other than "OMFG BUSH IS AN IDIOT". Bush was not at fault for the Katrina disaster. END OF STORY

What are you smoking, cracker boy? There is no "pseudo" budget cuts. There isn't even any argument, nor can there be that Bush slashed funding for the New Orleans flood protection. One of the top men at the Corps of Engineers was fired for admitting before a congressional comittee that the cuts would push back flood control efforts.

and the pseudo-racism charges.

Sure, good old boy George has a lot of Black friends. I'm sure. Somewhere. He slashed funding for flood protection because uh... why did he do that again?

The anti-Bush zealot ignores reality.

Well, you'd know all about that.

Oh please! It did nothing of the sort. It was a highly partisan rant with carefully chosen examples of alleged wrongdoings. No one but a fool would take that as evidence of anything.

Bush was not at fault for the Katrina disaster.  END OF STORY

Why did Bush cut funding for flood control in New Orleans? You never addressed that. Why did Bush appoint completely inexperiened people to run FEMA? You never addressed this either.

None of you Bush supporters has. Because even in your fanaticism you can't think up a halfway decent excuse for Bush you simply ignore the questions and then throw accusations on people who are democrats.

Correction: that's "people who they think are Democrats or who aren't sufficiently Republican."

What facts are you looking for? I have already posted cites on the cutbacks, on the firings. On the lack of experience of FEMA officials. What is it you deny?

Governor Blanco busted - and it's on video

Here is video where Democrat Governor Blanco is being set up several days ago for a TV interview, and her press secretary is helping her adjust her mic. They’re having a personal conversation and the cameraman catches it. In it, she jokes to her press secretary, “yeah, well I guess I really need to ask for troops." A bit later in the segment she gets into a semi-argument with Miles O’Brien, and he’s pointedly asking her exactly WHEN she asked the President for troops. She gets frustrated and says she didn’t even know what day it was, she was confused, but Miles presses her.

Damn that evil internet for exposing the incompetence of Democrat Governor Blanco!

How the left longs for the days of only network news; the days of Walter "the US lost the Tet Offensive" Cronkite, who signed off every night saying "and that's the way it is".

Now the leftwing media can be factchecked in a matter of minutes, and their lies are quickly exposed.

Katrina aftermath: Poll shows Republican Governor Barbour soars, Democrat Blanco plummets

A SurveyUSA poll of the state governors reveals that all of the governors whose states were directly hit by Hurricane Katrina had a major boom in job approval compared with the previous month, with the notable exception of Louisiana's Kathleen Blanco.

Haley Barbour (R, Mississippi) +26

Bob Riley (R, Alabama) +21

Mike Easley (D, North Carolina) +19

Sonny Perdue (R, Georgia) +18

Rick Perry (R, Texas) +17

Kathleen Blanco (D, Louisiana) -22

The gap between Barbour and Blanco, who lead the states most devastated by Katrina, could scarely be more stark.

That's truely some amazing video. I urge all of the Bush haters out there, especially Argus, to watch and take notes. You were all wrong.
