Older women are not attractive to men?

Let's be realistic -

Men at 50 are usually going through mid-life crisis!     They don't want to be reminded of age-ing!

Men around 50 or 60 are just trying to get their last licks in before we have to hang up our you know what forever and then can only dream about those good old days. Men are just men, don't you know. LOL.

The argument that older men are "just following their instincts" by pursuing young women and girls because they are "fertile" never made sense to me. If you're talking about evolution, there's nothing biologically sound about an old man producing offspring with a 19 year old. He's past his reproductive prime. He's more likely to produce defective offspring and to be infertile. It makes more sense for young men to mate with young women, which would reduce the chance of defective offspring. So  the mere fact that they are attracted to young women does not argue for them to act on it. Also, they are delusional if they believe that they actually are " at their "sexual peak" in their 50's and that women in their 20's are attracted to them. The vast majority of young women want men their own age.

This is a trope anyway.  I know few men who waste their time pursuing much younger women.  the middle-aged men and women I know date people about their own age or up to 10 years younger.  So a 55-year old with a 45-year old isn't much of a gap.

It depends. If a woman feels sexy, she looks this way. And a lot of men find older women to be attractive. My aunt is 58 and she is a widow. Recently, she has decided to try her luck in online dating and joined the iamnaughty site. As far as I know, this place is both for hookups and romantic relationships. I was surprised by the number of young men who want to meet her ☺️

For a hookup, why wouldn't they?  Such things are about hedonistic pursuits

HappBo said the dating site was for "hookups and romantic relationships", so why do you assume that the men who want to meet her are only looking for hookups? If the gender roles were reversed, you wouldn't say that.

That's precisely my point. You automatically assume that a younger man would never be interested in a romantic relationship with an older woman (but you presume with this last statement that the reverse would be fine, concluding that older women, but not men, are devoid of value). I realize that relationships in which the man is older are more common but believe it or not, there are also relationships in which the woman is older. My mother is older than my father and they have been happily married for many years.

I assume that for young people pursuing older people, I guess.  Not just young men.  I think it's all "fine" but I don't think that people generally look for long term relationships with those much older, as often as they are curious and interested in something short term.

I dated older and younger women and it didn't matter to me.

Exactly. Men convince themselves they are in their prime even when they are elderly, bald, obese, and have erectile dysfunction. But they tell women they are "over the hill" after age 25. Yet, oddly, they persist in the delusion that young girls and women are attracted to them.

Personally I am attracted to women 20 to 30 max and my preference hasn't changed in years since i was that age range myself. Women over 50 or over little or no attraction. Not sure why but I can see big trouble ahead.

I feel the same way about the men I am attracted to. I am not attracted to men over about 35, even as I get older. I just like young, physically fit, muscular men with chiseled faces, no wrinkles, grey hair or receding hairline, and I have yet to see a man past his mid-30's who looks like this.

Having re-entered the dating scene about a year and half ago, I concur.

I'm mid-50's but people tell me I look at least 10 years younger.  I'm finding that most men in their mid-fifties look at least 10 years OLDER than they really are.

I don't know if it's just the dating sites, but it seems that men in my age group do not look after themselves these days.  They look haggard, tired, don't appear to care about what they dress like, and have a lot of very unhealthy habits.

Haven't dated in a while now because I love being on my own and don't want to slow down my life to be a nursemaid to a man who hasn't looked after himself.

I think it's because men keep reading online articles about how they all morph into gorgeous hunks when then turn 50, while women "hit the wall". So they think they don't need to take good care of themselves and dress nicely. So they end up, like you said, looking 10 years older than they are, haggard, tired...

That's why I refuse to buy into the societal trope that older women are all ugly and undatable while men hit their "sexual prime" at age 50. It's not evolution. It's not biology. It's just our patriarchal society that keeps women in their place. (And I totally agree with you about not wanting to slow down my life to be a nursemaid to a man who hasn't taken care of himself.)

Agreed. But his instincts are simply to procreate. There's no time limit on that. Instinct does not have nuance. Women generally don't find much older men physically/sexually attractive. However,  there are a number of reasons why they would be attracted to men who have power and resources.

The assumption that an older man automatically has power and resources is faulty, too. I have been in two relationships with significantly older men and in each case, for a good part of the time we were together they were unemployed. Neither had assets, college degrees, successful careers, or any of the things I had, though I was much younger. Women are told that we are supposed to be attracted to an older man's "resources", yet these days more women than men are going to college, and going on to graduate school. In my relationships, I was always younger but I was the one with the Master's Degree, the successful career, and the resources of my own.

I find young asian women like old guys. Oh yeah

Me. Im one of those older males in his fifties who looks like he doeasnt take care of himself. Actually I do but I just look that way.

Alright, so maybe I don’t use “Just for Men” to color my hair.

Maybe I don’t “touch up my highlights” in the morning.

Maybe I dont “eat right”, or get a “decent nights sleep”, like ever, or “wash my clothes” alot.

Maybe I never “buy a new pair of shoes”. What does that make me, the bad guy?

....

You people think you are all good and so special. Just because you could go out and get some anytime you want.

Me, I like older women. I like young ones too, dont get me wrong. Young, old, I like em all. Skinny, fat too, doesnt matter.

For the most part I have no interest at all in women over 30 with very few exceptions. I consider 18-22 to be the prime window and to be honest, the 16 year olds resemble the 21 year olds when I was in University.

All of this is of course why I’m single at 61 and have been for 20 years. I highly doubt ANY sane woman has ANY interest in me so it all balances out nicely. It’s just better this way for all concerned.

I can buy any motorcycle stuff I want and drink orange juice straight out of the jug.

On internet there are pornographic video where we can watch mature women so even if they are less successful than the beautiful young women etc. there are men who are attracted to this type of women.

They remain in danger from sexual predators and this also means that they are not "obsolete".  40 to 50 years old, I think is ok after that it depends on how the body has aged.

Women of varying ages who are self assured and successful may be found all throughout the world. They have the ability to engage or befriend guys their own age or older at any moment. Younger males are drawn to this heterogeneous group’s older women, which is rarely understood but frequently observed it’s also worth noting that many older women are reciprocating men’s interest. Men prefer older women because they are not interested in starting a family with them. Women want only adventures and novels, and to have fun with someone younger. Women like these can be found on https://www.escorts2.com/, and spending time with them can be enjoyble.
