If Canadians hate Americans, why doesn't Canada just sever ties with America?

Recommended Posts

Also bear in mind, I'm half American, my grandparents were American, my father was raised in America, I was not raised to be Anti-American, I love America, Americans are my kin.

Moreover, I am an Old Stock British North American, my family has been here since 1757, so I am only loyal to the British Crown in North America.

Canadians now,  are both Anti-American, and disloyal to the British Crown,  Liberal Party of Canada Canada wants to be a Peoples Republic.

So Canadians are not only the enemies of American freedom, they are the enemies of my Commander-in-Chief.

Communist Canada delenda est, God save the Queen, God bless America.

Donald Trump does not bother me,  Americans are my brothers in arms, the only people trying to come between us, are the Democrats and the Liberals, may their children go blind.

No need to  play the blame game.............let alone wishing someone going blind.   Are there not enough troubles on  this planet without  asking for more???

If i had my druthers, Liberals and Democrats would hang from the lampposts as the scumbag communist traitors that they are.

Unfortunately they enjoy the protection of the American Constitution and the British Crown, thus I am precluded from chucking them out of a helicopter Pinochet style.

Chaos isn't a pit, Chaos is a ladder.

Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again, the fall breaks them, and some are given the chance to climb, but they refuse, they cling to the realm, or the gods, or love, illusions.

Only the ladder is real, The climb is all there is.

Littlefinger Knows. Canadians are insecure, because they know their beloved Confederation cannot climb, and the fall will break them, while the Declaration of Independence climbs to the stars, so they lash out at America, cling to their Confederation and refuse to climb.

Manifest Destiny is destiny, it climbs the ladder better than all, and a fall won't break it.

Democracy simply mandates a peaceful transfer of power in lieu of civil war, there is no mandate to  love your political enemies.

None the less, it is the bourgeois urbane Liberals and Democrats who are undermining democracy, God have mercy on them in the event of civil disorder.

America should just fight a little war against Canada, not prolonged to the point of damaging American economic interests, but just to give Canadians a taste of their own medicine, to let them know where they really stand.

I'm not talking military action, just shut the border for a few months,  a shot upside the heads of Canadians, punch them in the economic mouth, you don't have to beat them to a pulp, just enough to ring their bell.

:D

In a way, we just did with the repeal of NAFTA.  It was the velvet fist treatment.  Canada lost big on stuff like soft wood exports to the US.

It's not repealed, if Congress doesn't ratify USMCA, then NAFTA remains in place.

In the end, USMCA let Canada off the hook, Trump talked a big game, but when push came to shove, he pretty much let Canada have the things Canada wanted.

But that's the thing, Trump is not really my adversary, Trump is not out to harm me, the things Trump wants, I want those too.

Trump is out to force the Canadian socialists to open Canada up to more American products and services and I want that too.

I join Trump in fighting against Canadian socialist supply management, socialist supply management delenda est.

My wife is actually angry that Trump didn't drive a harder bargain.

She wanted the $800  duty free de minimis that Trump proposed, but Canada managed to knock it down to $150.

He could have driven a harder bargain, but probably not in time for 2020, and he wanted that win on his resume, so he settled. All he needed was a new deal, that is better than the old deal, then he can pimp his "dealmaker" schtick extra hard.

My wife doesn't care, Trump got her hopes up, but then those hopes were dashed.

I try to tell her that it is the scumbag Canadian unionized leftists who are the enemy, but she's not political, all she says is "Trump said $800! I want my $800 duty free!"

Didn't you tell her it was just an outrageous opening offer that he never had any intention of delivering on, and would be quite ready to settle for less than $800?

I mean, that's what Trump does, getting your hopes up that this time he's telling the truth with his outrageous opening offer, that is like Charlie Brown thinking this time he's going to kick that football, and Lucy won't pull it away at the last second.

It's probably my fault, she doesn't like Trump, so I said "but Trump is trying to get you $800 duty free", so then she was like "WTF I love Trump naow!"

Then it didn't happen, so now she's pissed off.

Yeah, that was a bad move dude, you set her up to be Charlie Brown, and didn't tell her Trump was Lucy with the football, no wonder she's pissed, especially when she didn't like Trump in the first place. Should have braced her for the fact that he'd be very willing to negotiate on the number and settle for a lot less than $800.

My bad.  Whatevs tho, it's not like she can vote in the American election, so no damage done.

In the end, she voted for Dougie Ford, and she's happy with Dougie Ford so far, that's the main thing, Ontario First.

We’re well aware of the bullying and might is right attitudes coming out of a large segment of the US right and the mistreatment under USMCA. What doesn’t seem to be understood is that such attitudes and power plays stoke anti-Americanism worldwide.  Most Canadians like Americans, but we’ve seen how reckless the US can be, what’s happening to auto makers on both sides of the border due to steel and aluminum tariffs, what’s happening to canola and soy farmers.  We see the strong arm tactics.  The tariffs have been one big unnecessary shitstorm.  What’s more, the cost of the tax cuts has outweighed the rise in taxation by unit volume, such that US government debt is growing fast even as the economy grows fast.

Last I checked Democrats were also Americans, just as Liberals are Canadians.  Both countries are liberal democracies.

The Democrats were traitors in the Civil War and they are traitors now.

The Liberals are traitors too, trying to sell you out to the Chinese Communists, wise up, chump.

I didn’t vote Liberal; you did.  Liberals can be naive.  Trudeau would’ve thrived were it not for the rise of alt-right populism, which has made the world worse.  I say that even though I’m not a Trudeau Jr. fan.

I vote Liberal to incite chaos to undermine the Confederation.   Mission accomplished.

But it is not just the US right...American foreign policy has always been thus...and it is not going to change anytime soon.

Not so much.  Trudeau is still popular in and out of Canada among liberals.  He could still win the election.  What you call undermining might look like freedom of expression to others and no threat at all to Canada.
