America's gun problem or is it?

Recommended Posts

The predomimemt consensus amongst gun owners is that we should be allowed to have guns. Though with reasonable limits. The majority of which are used for recreational activity as illustrated below.

For those not familiar with firearms this may look "military grade" but it is no different in functionality to many semi auto deer hunting rifle.

The issue of mass shooting should be addressed then from a psychological perspective.

Those intending to do harm does so because they feel alienated or isolated from society. Obviously everyone is different in how they react to this isolation, most commit suicide while a minority take it out on innocent victims.

This is an attempt to rationalize the societal problem while also addressing the physical manifestation of those symptoms.

Place thoughts below.

Thoughts ?

Americans will not give up their constitutional right to own and bear arms (confirmed by the Supreme Court) because of the illegal and/or deranged actions by criminals and the mentally ill.

Taking away guns a la Australia would cause wide scale civil unrest and violence....a "cure" far worse than the "disease".

U.S. gun homicides are at a 30 year low, despite far more guns being in circulation.

Thoughts;  the DSA SA-58 FN FAL Para is a tight whip.

Right Arm of the Free World.

You can get them surplus for around a grand.

Be strong.  Be of good courage.  God bless America.  Long live the Republic.

Don’t encourage that shit.  That firearm has no purpose except to kill people easily.

Indeed.  While I am proficient as a unarmed combatant, I do indeed prefer the firearm as my primarry mechanism to close with and destroy with maximum speed violence and aggression by day or night in all climate season and terrain.

That’s fine within and under control of the military, but such killing machines shouldn’t be available on the open market.

Not to worry, I am a professional.

Semi automatic firearms are restricted in Canada, tho not prohibited per se.

IIRC, FN FAL is prohibited for some reason or another made up arbitrarily by the Mounties, but no matter, plenty of perfectly devastating firepower available on the open market, even in Canaderp.

And as you say, it's all about the shooter, the killing machine is the Homo Sapiens Sapiens Apex Predator, North German Protestant Division.

Why did we not have these mass shootings going on 50 or 60 years ago is the question to be asked. What is the difference between then and now? Any idea?

Maybe this is why homicides are low in America. More law abiding Americans are carrying more concealed guns around on them. A criminal has to think twice these days as to whether or not a person they want to rob or kill has a gun. Guns are obviously saving lives. Just saying.

That is entirely your prerogative in Canada as well.

Bill of Rights 1689 + Section 1 Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

There is gun control in Canada, but guns are not banned, nor can your right to the security of the person be, Section 1 is not subject to Section 33

Bear in mind, under the British Crown in Canada, you do have the right to keep and bear arms, the caveat is simply "in allowance of the law"

There is a right to bear arms, there is nothing in the constitution which mandates the disarming of the population, there is simply gun control laws passed by Parliament.

Those laws cannot abridge your right to self defence, they cannot ban you from owning a firearm, you do have to follow the draconian regulations, but those can be changed.

It's just a matter of sweeping the Cuckservatives aside and electing a civic nationalist right wing government.

As a Canadian gun owner I am amazed that Americans can sit by and do nothing while they lead the world in killing their kids in schools.

They never understood gun control. To them, because they are uneducated,it means banning all guns. That shows you how uninformed they are.

There should be one focus like we do in Canada,

one main focus.

”what can we do to keep guns away from the wrong people”

if they simply followed that focus they would reduce gun violence immensely.

Nonsense, the Americans invented gun control, and the Americans have plenty of it, Americans do not oppose gun control, only federal gun control, gun control is a states right, same as it ever was.

All you have to do is compare the requirements  to get a firearm license in Canada to America.. For you to suggest they have “gun control “  means you don’t know the difference.

Basil Borutsky shot all three of his ex-girlfriends on the same day, right after he got out of jail.   Not in America.  Renfrew County Ontario.

Seems to be a bit of a flaw in your Pre-Crime program, Jim.
