Trump-Trudeau Fall-Out

No its not unpatriotic to criticize Trudeau; the lack of patriotism arises when they also expect JT to bend over and let Trump screw Canada over.

But it's OK when Obama did the same thing (e.g. Keystone XL, DRIC, NATO, "Buy American", etc.) ???

So I guess it just depends on who is doing the "screwing", eh ?

One day you will realize you are simply being trolled by our resident American who loves trolling everything Canada.

All you have to do is get in between his two guiding principles - patriotism and morality - and make him choose one and he gets quite bent out of shape.  It can be amusing, or annoying depending on what kind of mood you're in.

It's not unpatriotic to criticize your country's leaders but to insult your country generally, especially after admonishing others for their lack of loyalty, is tantamount to hypocrisy.  Even lying.  Don't pretend to care and weep tears about "where this country is going" on one post, then wish it into the ground on the other.

It's all good....I'm even famous over at that "other forum" for top honours while they are banned !

Morality is your play...not mine.

So show me where I ever wished Canada into the ground, go on, I'll wait.

As for your typical snide response to my prior comment. I question your patriotism. All I know of you and Diahlama indicates that both of you like to sit and pass judgement on others, question their underlying beliefs, yet you yourself have never made any sacrifice for your country. And no, spouting off on line does not count as any kind of personal sacrifice. So go ahead, prove me wrong, you or Diahlama, tell all of us what great personal sacrifice you've made for Canada. As I said, I'll wait. Failing that I'll just regard your opinion on patriotism as what it is, just a bunch of self serving hot air and shit.

The original comment to which you objected had nothing to do with you, but was about our resident White "Nationalist".  You asked for clarification from Michael, he provided it without any reference to you and you proceeded to take offense.

1) You didn't.  I'm not even sure why I'm talking to you about this, actually.  You are the one who challenged me.

2) Where did I claim to be a patriot ?  If you want to know how I feel about my country PM me please.

3) I have no position on patriotism, just on hypocrisy.

We the people must try and work together to try and get government off we the people's backs. If tariffs were eliminated altogether and trade deals were left up to the private sector and the ordinary free market business people themselves and allow them to take control of the wheeling and dealing in the market place there would be no problems at all. It is our politicians big corporations and banksters who create just about all of the problems for we the people. We need to be free from those people who are making and creating our problems. Wake up.

What silly and foolish talk. It was not Trump that has caused this tariff fiasco. These tariffs have been around for decades long before Trump ever became President. It was our Canadian politicians that have locked Canada into these tariffs just like Clinton and Obama kept America locked up in these tariffs also. It had nothing to do with Trump being the President now, child. But that is all people like you want to do these days is blame everything that is happening in the world today on Trump. It's like Trump started all this tariff nonsense decades ago. Businesses will close down alright if we keep allowing our stunned and stupid puppet on a string political leaders to keep running and ruining the show. Why doesn't anyone ever see and acknowledge this?

Hillary is well known for her foul mouth and many of those so-called American liberal comedians who have all shown us just how much indecency and foul talk that they like to spew from their sick pathetic liberal mouths. Trump shows common sense and logic unlike liberals like yourself who appears to only know as to how to do and say the opposite of Trump.

Hopefully the American people will vote Trump back in power in the next election because what Americans do not need anymore is to have for a President a lying and crooked pathetic liberal loser like Hillary running America. We all have seen what liberal/democrat Obama has done to America since he was president for eight years? Absolutely nothing at all except to have allowed as many MS 13 gang members and millions of illegals into America as possible. It is the liberal/democrats that still need the baby sitting. All they have done since Trump became President was whine and cry just like the bunch of crybabies that they are. Maybe what Trump should do is go out and buy a few hundred thousand soothers and start handing them out to the crybaby liberal/democrat losers. Works for me. LOL.

oh my god I feel so sorry for you right now its not even funny.

So, just where is it oh so terrible for someone to call themselves a "white nationalist"?  I am pretty sure that you would probably love to see Canada become a more non-white multicultural country and less white but there are some of us who do not want to see this happen. We consider ourselves to be the patriots of Canada and not the enemy of Canada.

If there was anyone or any group of people who are traitors to Canada it is the liberal/socialists ones who have been trying for decades to try and destroy a once great WASP nationalist country and I must say that they have done a pretty good job of doing that already. The Canada that you want to see change is a Canada that I do not want to see change.

And what may I ask of you is what have you done and sacrificed for this country? Over.

It is wonderful to see President Trump bringing Canada's latent and repressed patriotism boiling to the surface after so many years of forced cultural purging.

This is the very same patriotism that some Canadians smugly looked down on Americans for...now that's "hypocrisy".

It is long overdue for this patriotism to start to boil over. Enough already. We have had decades and decades of liberalism/socialism forced on the true Canadian patriots for so long now that it has been pretty much been eliminated. Hopefully very soon this will change. I call out on what is going on in Canada and the changes that has been and still are being done to destroy this once great nation and all I ever get from some here is that I am a white racist nationalist and against new immigrants for my efforts. Liberal/socialist multiculturalism is indeed purging Canadian culture. So dam sad.

Canada has become a nation of hypocrites. I watch every day the news on Canadian TV and I am being forced to listen to it every hour to this constant Immigration problem going on in America on the border of Mexico and constantly having to listen to the liberal/socialist lying Canadian media party tell lies to me about what is really going on with all these illegals and their children and their so called kept in dog cages nonsense and being separated from their parents. Parents who broke the law by entering America illegally. What did they expect. A free meal at McDonald's for all their efforts?

But yet right here in Canada today the liberal/socialist lying media refuses to report anymore on the tens of thousands of criminal illegals entering Canada illegally every day. I heard the figure for last year was over 20,000 criminal illegals entered Canada and that close to many hundreds a day are still entering Canada illegally every day. But again for some unknown reason the American immigration problem is more of a concern and interest to our Canadian liberal media than our own illegal immigration problems. I guess that they are more concerned with reporting on the illegal immigration problem in America rather than having to discuss our own illegal immigration problem into Canada, and it no doubt gives them another opportunity to attack and mock Trump once again. The hatred that the Canadian liberal/socialist media and many Canadians themselves have for Trump is blatantly so obvious it's truly pathetic. It never ends with these haters of Trump. Most of them hate Trump because of the lies that are being promoted by the Canadian left wing liberal lying media. I wish that they would just mind their own dam business and start showing more concern and interest about what is going on in Canada and not so much in America. But hey. :)

Pfft.  Once Great Leader Trump says Canada is shit then you all fall into lockstep.  Don't be such a snowflake I am only asking questions.  People are free to criticize, but I find it odd when a "loyal" Canadian (who prides himself on his patriotism too) just blanket insults Canadians.  I guess we know where the loyalty goes now...

When Trump says something it usually turns out to be right. Trump probably knows that Canada is fast becoming a chit hole but Trump won't actually say anything on that fact because he is just trying to be nice and polite and tries not to give a comment on that but true patriots like me have no problem pointing out the chit hole that Canada is fast becoming.

Loyalty to Canada is pretty much dead in Canada. The only loyalty I see coming from the majority of Canadians today is loyalty to themselves. It's all about me-me-me and money. Just saying.

It's good to see Sheer and DoFo back JT. I'm not JT fan, but this is not a time to take partisan sides on ideology. Trump is being completely irrational right now.

Once Trudeau's spat with Trump is over, Trudeau can get back to the irrational policies he has for Canada's economy instead.

The joke about JT is beyond Carbon Pricing and Pot, he hasn't done a whole heck of a lot.

The problem with the spat with the US is that Trump may have a point with Supply Management and Milk, but then ignores how much food in the US is Subsidised. He doesn't really look at the big picture of anything. Raising the price of Aluminum from Canada hurts the US more. Most of their Aluminum comes from Canada. They can't meet Steel demands domestically anyway, so they'd just raising prices.

Better add oil pipelines east and Trudeau's own tariffs on American products to the list (e.g. gypsum board tariffs hurt home construction in Canada).   Plus TPP and NAFTA fails.

Nope....Canada is just the leading source for imported aluminum, not all aluminum:

Quote

Below are the 15 countries from which the United States purchases the highest dollar value worth of aluminum. These suppliers accounted for 86.3% of all US aluminum imports during 2017.

  1. Canada: US$8.5 billion (36.3% of total aluminum exports)
  2. China: $3.5 billion (15.1%)
  3. Russia: $1.6 billion (7%)
  4. United Arab Emirates: $1.5 billion (6.5%)
  5. Mexico: $1 billion (4.3%)
  6. Bahrain: $621.1 million (2.7%)
  7. Argentina: $570.8 million (2.4%)
  8. Germany: $561.7 million (2.4%)
  9. India: $484.1 million (2.1%)
  10. South Africa: $354.1 million (1.5%)
  11. Qatar: $307.4 million (1.3%)
  12. Japan: $295.6 million (1.3%)
  13. France: $294.1 million (1.3%)
  14. Thailand: $265.3 million (1.1%)
  15. Italy: $241.2 million (1%)

Prices for resulting consumer goods will still be less than in Canada.

Frankly, margins must be very slim if it only takes a 10% tariff to set Trudeau's hair on fire.

So in front of congress today, Wilber Ross admitted that not only does the US have a trade surplus of steel with Canada, but that the tariffs wasn't for national security reasons at all but to get Canada to crack down on the Chinese using Canada as a transshipment point for steel to the US. Except Canada had already announced a crackdown before the tariffs were imposed....

Wonder why Trump is not talkin about that? :D I guess it was cheaper for the companies he ran to import from China via Canada. Maybe he's an insider and has already exploited those for his own gains. But it would take 20 more years before the USA can get back on track.  Trump thinks he can go after China, but he's quite delusional. China laughs at those tariffs, because China just needs to ask the USA to pay back the debt, and you can watch a nation implode like a collapsed sun. Creating a black hole bringing others in with it.

Trump is still my favourite train wreck.

Based on all the whining from Trudeau and Canadian media, Trump must be a national security threat to Canada.

Shouldn't be so dependent on exports to a single nation (75%).

Not a threat to security, but a threat to sane people everywhere.
