There is no such thing as the "Palestinian people." (link)

Quote

“The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity,” he said. “In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism for tactical reasons.”

Earlier on, the New York Times, in an article dated August 15, 1948 quoted Jamal el-Husseini, a then-important Arab leader, and Faris el-Khouri, the Syrian delegate to the United Nations (link):

Quote

Mr. el-Husseini said he expected 'that Palestine warfare would "re-commence," and that "it would be fought until our objectives are achieved." . . Ruling out the possibility of compromise, he said that "no matter what concessions we receive, we could not compromise on the question of a Jewish state." "Nor could we compromise." he went on, "our attitude on immigration." Mr. el-Husseini.

***********************************************

Emphasizing the Arabs' determination to wage war against Israel, Mr. el-Husseini observed: "A thousand years ago our forefathers fought for 100 years at the time of the Crusades to drive out the foreigners, and we can do it again." Asked whether he agreed with Mr. el-Husseini's prediction that warfare would begin again, Mr. el-Khouri said he "believed the same thing." "The adamant position of the Jews cannot be settled within the framework of the truce," the Syrian representative declared.

Doesn't it look to you as if the Palestinian "cause" was invented to create a problem that could only be solved by Israel's liquidation as a Jewish state?

Jamal al-Husseini...the Grand Mufti's cousin...from BOTH his father and mother's side.

Thank you very much. I couldn't find information as to whether he was related to the Mufti. How is he a cousin from the father and mother's side?

Is this the same type of semantics where people content that Anti-Semitism doesn't actually mean Anti Jewish?

It's related. They figured that they had to tone it down a notch after the Holocaust.

And yet, there was a population of people who called the region home that were dispossessed of their homes to make room for another people who had been dispossessed of their homes.  There is still a dispossessed population of human beings in the region, its growing, and its not going away.

The solution is in the future not the past.

Zionists bought their land from the Sultan. No kicking anybody off of any land.

Plus, unless you think of Sam Clemens as some sort of Islamophobe, when he toured the Holy Land in the 1860s, it was pretty much deserted and Al-Aqsa was in ruins.

It was guess who? That's right! It was the Mufti who rebuilt Al-Aqsa from donations from the Muslim world (pocketed the change)...gold covering, etc. It was the Mufti that pushed al-Aqsa as 'the Third Most Holy Place In Islam...the Jew's capital city.

The fact that Arafat invented the term Palestinian in 1967 to be specific after the failed Black Sabbath uprising does not mean today there are not Palestinians. I would be the first to point out how the term Palestinian was reinvented in 1967 to be a retroactive definition different then it was ever used for. However, so what?

So phacking what? If the people on the West Bank call themselves Palestinians..if the people in Gaza call themselves that.... that is what the phack they are. Its called common sense.

Arguing over the name to use to describe them is bull crap. We have enough idiots on this forum telling Jews they can't call themselves Israelis. Don't ask me to engage in the same bigotry against Palestinians.

Revisiting old issues like this do what? They empower Jew and Israeli haters to make their comments and then what? Should I piss on Palestinians for calling themselves that? No thanks. I will let the  Hacked and Eye and Hudson Jones, Marcus, Kactus et al tell people who they can be and where. I find them full of sheeyat for doing that. So I aint doing the same thing to Palestinians. They have a right to call themselves what they want. That's not the issue. It never was. The issue is far deeper then that.

What sad, sad people.

European settlers come into the region to steal a land, inhabited by people who have been living there for centuries and these settlers have the chutzpah to announce that the people whose land they are stealing do not exist.

jbg, unfortunately, people like you cannot be counted to accept the truth. Your zealotry is making you go out of your way to try to create an alternate universe. You are going to be pushed aside in order for justice to happen. The BDS movement will be the end of your blatant lies.

What about this (link):

For example, PLO member Zahir Muhsein told the Dutch newspaper Trouw in 1977 that the Palestinian people does not exist.

“The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity,” he said. “In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. A real Nazi, too. Not just calling the dude "Nazi". Movements such as the Palestinian Cause do not get their own Jew-free terror state. In fact, they should be the problems of Jordan and Egypt...those responsible for the war. Syria, too...but hey...it's already gone.

Projecting again...

Again...the Palestinians as a people were created at 1967's Khartoum Conference of the Arab League. Before this "magic event", they were called Egyptians and Jordanians respectfully.

I thought the Sultan was dethroned because he wouldn't sell.

Zionists didn't care WHICH Sultan was selling the land. Ownership of land in the Ottoman Empire was possible after the 1858 Land Code. Anybody could buy land...literally...as the Ottomans were broke from too many wars of Imperialism. As was the style of the time...

The Zionists paid through the nose for that land...so to speak....being Jews. Also paid the Jizya and followed Ottoman Laws. Citizens of the Empire.

Let's pretend that's true.

SO WHAT?

Were there people living there in that area? In the area called Palestine? The answer is YES.

What's the difference between someone calling themselves Israeli, who did not exist in name, until the country was formed in 1948 and someone who wants to call themself Palestinian because they have lived on the land known as Palestine?

There is one difference. Majority of the people calling themselves Palestinian, actually lived on the land. People who call themselves Israeli came mostly from Europe and have less of a genetic connection with the Israelites, than the Palestinians.

You push so hard to erase the Palestinians. This is a form of genocide.
