Dictators abound, democracy retreats

Only in that it pours all kinds of stuff into the US because it makes it so much more cheaply than you do. Canada buys twice as much of US exports than China does. So does Mexico, for that matter.

The U.S. export economy is far more diversified....only 16% of U.S. exports go to Canada, but Canada depends on 75% of exports going to the U.S.

American interests own 50% of Canada's manufacturing base.

Virtue signaling dictator Justin Trudeau is constantly in the U.S. (15 visits so far) begging for something....China doesn't have to do that.

They are indeed. They'll ship you everything they make and refuse to take much back unless you pay bribes, and give them all the blueprints so they can start building their own and promise to spend the profits there in China rather than bringing them back to your country.

Yep...China is a much bigger market than Canada can even dream of.    Canada government prefers carbon taxes and feminist signaling.

And yet you can't sell them nearly as much stuff as you sell to tiny  Canada? What's up with that?

And yet you still less than half as much stuff to China as you do to Canada!

I don't think you understand...GM is already in China...selling to the Chinese market.

Please let me know when Canada builds an auto/truck final assembly plant in the U.S. or Mexico.

The U.S. already owns 50% of Canada's manufacturing base....domestic sales.

In another dozen years Boeing will be out of business as China sells their own knockoff version of Boeing jets abroad at half the price.

Doubt that will happen. Even if Chinese companies make a knock off of a popular jet like the 737 and duplicate Boeing's international supply chain domestically (not an easy task even for China), it will take decades of flight heritage to build customer confidence in a new aircraft company. Furthermore air travel is tightly regulated and aircraft for sale in most markets have to meet a wide variety of certifications, and ones from China that blatantly infringe on patents and international trade laws would likely be hard to sell outside China itself.

Good for them! They're in Canada selling to the Canadian market too.

That's worked out well for decades.

In ten years, China's version of GM will be in North America selling the exact same cars at lower costs and GM will be a much smaller company.;

Has to be a 'final assembly plant' so that the tens of thousands of Americans working for companies like Magna, Linamar and Martineau don't count.

And China owns over a trillion in US debt. Soon they'll probably own two or three, and eventually foreclose and take the place over. They need more room for their people to live anyway.

Money talks, and China has been gaining increasing prestige and influence around the world as the Americans focus on their clown president. They might have trouble with it in the US but I bet they can start selling to third world countries, particularly in Asia and the middle east, where a plane that costs half as much will cause a lot of eager hands to go into wallets. Other countries might not buy them but they won't stop them from landing there if they're safe. And the US can sue the Chinese company in China. That oughto work!

China is not even close to being a majority owner of U.S. national debt.

The U.S. dollar remains the world's strongest reserve currency....the Canadian dollar has never been.

The U.S. took over Canadian manufacturing a long time ago....because Canada lacks sufficient domestic capital to invest and compete.

Enough to foreclose and take over! You'll have to go find somewhere else to live!

Trump can decide not to pay back social security or the federal reserve. He can't choose to not pay China!
 They'll kick his ass!

Sure they will....perhaps you already know what it's like to be dominated by an economic superpower.

Canada is dominated by American culture....but all Americans don't speak Chinese yet.

Canada's market is smaller than California's.

More like GM buys more cars from China. However it's more of the parts are made there and then assembled in the US.. possibly. Or Mexico!

No, we are dominated by Canadian culture. And the east coast of the US and Canada have a high oriental population, including Chinese. I mean ever been to Vancouver? No?

There was a catastrophic fire in a Russian mall the other day. This man lost his wife, kids and sister. Now he can speak the truth without fear of reprisal:
