mowich
The Pittsburgh Penguins hoisted the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row tonight and they did it in Bridgestone arena in Game 6. I am over the moon with joy for my Pens. I believed that there was nothing Sid would like better than to bookend this fantastic season he's had with yet another Stanley Cup and that's just what he and his teammates did tonight. And they did it without Chris Letang and Nik Bonino. The Predators were formidable foes through-out the series and I give them full credit for playing their hearts out. Boges
I can't be happy for them because that's the second cup for that Asshat Kessel.
mowich
So because you hate Kessel you are willing to throw the entire team off the bus, eh. This morning I've been reading a lot about how that disallowed goal - that in my opinion was a good goal save for a whistle that was way too quick - and how the Preds were robbed, and how they could have won had it been a good goal. Well the fact is that the Preds had 4 PP chances, two of them back to back and with just under a minute of 5 on 3 but they still couldn't get the job done. In Pekka's barn, the rookie goal-tender Matt Murray stood on his head and gave my team the chance to win. Preds and their fans can cry and whine all they want but they had their chances and they didn't take them. The Preds are a great team and without a doubt I expect to see them even better next year especially if they can solve the problem of how to score on a PP. I was hoping that Nashville would win the Stanley Cup seeing that the Penguins won it last year. That disallowd goal really did do them in. It seemed to affect their game. And yes, those power play chances was their chance to maybe win that game and go on to the seventh. But it did not happen, and it is on to next year. I only hope that next season we can get a Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup, and bring the cup back home to Canada. It is long overdue to come back home. Ottawa played great. overthere
This final was pretty much a ratings and PR disaster for the league. The games were pretty meh. Kessel has absolutely thrived in the right situation, used the right way. Same for Justin Schultz, who was relied on for far too much in Edmonton. Benz
The Pens are my second favorite team ever since Mario Lemieux joined the club when I was still a little boy. So it was a pleasure to Watch them win again. Lemieux has the touch as a owner and knows how to get surrounded by winners. I cannot say the same with my habs. We need the Leafs to make us look like winners. I admit the refused goal could have make a difference but, I do not feel the Pens stole the serie. They had their way to come back stronger and if they would have lost game 6, they would have still be 100% ready to get their best for game 7. It's true that it would have been nice to see an underdog like Nashville to win the cup. In the future, I hope the Canucks or why not the Jets go for the cup. They deserve at least one in their history. Well, the Jets needs a miracle but, it feasible for the Canucks. They have been close few times. -TSS-
Doesn't anyone think it should end a bit sooner than mid-June? It is an indoor sport these days but the roots of the game go back to a time when it was not possible to play in June.
