Yup, we in the leftist liberal Canadian media have to help our leftist liberal media buddies in America to try and help get Trump impeached somehow says the CBC. Trump is one of the most concerning issues facing Canada today. Our Canadian way of life is in danger and in jeopardy thanks to Trump. LOL. Canada is full of "zero imagination". Mostly Canada has become a nation of boring politically correct bull chit. My opinion of course.

Our Canadian justice system is broken down because we have allowed political correctness in many cases to run rampant in this country and our courts where people who have a different politically incorrect opinion and point of view to that of the government are being arrested and charged for their politically incorrect so called hate crimes which is plugging up the courts with stupid and useless charges that never existed decades ago. The hate laws were pretty much put in place to stifle free speech.

Pretty much all of our Canadian judges are appointed ones and I believe that they must show just how politically correct they can be to get the job and how to go about wasting court time and tax dollars with silly ass politically incorrect charges. I remember the good old days when murder, robbery and rape were terrible things for anyone to do to someone else. Now they are treated as paltry crimes. Now the more real serious crimes today are the ones that appear to be politically incorrect ones and saying politically incorrect things. The book is thrown at them.

Politicians always will go about creating a problem and then they try to pretend that they are going to fix the problem later after they suddenly realize that they made a mistake creating the problem in the first place.  This country is totally f$%&*d. But what the hey, eh?

Interesting read, thanks!

You and others here should see what the British government has done to a guy by the name of Tommy Robinson. Tommy became too politically incorrect for the government and so Tommy was arrested and thrown in the gulag for daring to speak his mind and demonstrate outside a London courthouse where a trial was going on where 29 Muslim rapists were on trial for being a part of a gang rape Muslim crew. Britain has become a very dangerous place to live for freedom loving people if one has politically incorrect views and opinions that differ from that of the now British police state government. Tommy was brought up in front of a judge that same day and was sentenced on the same day without a proper trial or lawyer present and thrown in the gulag for six months for his right to demonstrate or so Tommy thought he had that right to demonstrate. Now that is what I call a clear and obvious case of a broken down justice system. Could Canada become like Britain soon? Hey, you never know, and it does appear as though it has started here in Canada with the many arrests and charges against people who have spoken political incorrectness. It is getting very dangerous out there for freedom loving people who want to be able to express their opinions and points of view anymore in Canada without the fear of government looking over their shoulders to look and see and listen too what they have to say or do. Disgusting.

Christopher Garnier, 30, is serving a life sentence for second-degree murder in the strangling of Campbell, 36, whose body was found in September 2015 near Macdonald Bridge in Halifax.

At trial, an expert for the defence testified Garnier developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of the killing. At a sentencing hearing earlier this month, a Crown prosecutor told the court that Garnier's treatment is being paid for by Veterans Affairs because his father, Vince Garnier, is a veteran.

"In this circumstance, I find it really hard to chew on that we're spending taxpayers' money like that to help someone when we also have veterans that are having a really hard time getting treatment through VAC," said retired sergeant Colin Saunders, who organized a protest over veterans' benefits earlier this year on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

"Certainly, there's lots of veterans whose family members need help or need services and they're not getting it."

Garnier killed Campbell, a constable with the police force in Truro, N.S., in a Halifax apartment on Sept. 11, 2015, hours after the two met at a downtown bar. He put her body in a green compost bin and wheeled her to the bridge.

In December, a jury convicted him of second-degree murder and interfering with a dead body.

A Nova Scotia Supreme Court judge ruled earlier this month that Garnier must serve at least 13½ years behind bars before he can apply for parole.

The defence had argued that parole eligibility should be set at the minimum of 10 years, in part because Garnier suffered from PTSD related to killing Campbell.

The court heard his father, who had served in the Canadian Forces, also has PTSD, and that getting treatment for his son helps them both.

That is beyond disgusting. Especially after Trudeau told veterans they were asking too much for what the government could afford. The convicted murderer never served in the military. He should get nothing for PTSD treatment.

The family of a murdered Ontario girl says one of her killers is living at an Indigenous healing lodge in Saskatchewan instead of the maximum-security prison where she had been serving a life sentence.

Terri-Lynne McClintic, who was convicted of first-degree murder in the kidnapping, rape and murder of Victoria (Tori) Stafford, 8, in 2009, is now being housed at the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge near Maple Creek. She had been serving her life sentence at the maximum security Grand Valley Institution for Women in Kitchener.

Correctional Services Canada would not confirm the transfer, citing privacy legislation, but Rodney Stafford, Tori’s father, told CTV London he found out about the transfer after a corrections officer contacted him regarding McClintic’s request for day passes.

-----

During an interview with CTV’s Power Play on Tuesday, Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale said officials consider public safety and the best rehabilitation methods before deciding to transfer an inmate to a lower-security facility.

“The prison management officials have determined this is the best way to both rectify her bad practices in the past, but also to keep the public safe,” he said. “The officials that have the professional capacity to make that decision are making it in what they judge to be the best public interest.”

https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/tori-stafford-s-family-to-protest-transfer-of-one-of-her-killers-to-indigenous-healing-lodge-1.4109053

With this news, the family's wounds are open wide again. Living through the heartbreak of losing a child to kidnappers, rapists and murderers.

And how about Goodale's reaction? The convicted murderer was sent to an indigenous healing lodge  "to rectify her bad practices in the past". So now, our public safety minister equates first degree murder to "bad practices" of the convicted murderer. Of course, for this Liberal government, this is just another way down the road to reconciliation with first nations. And of course, it's seen as a step to a more just society. I feel sick.

A lot of people are shaking their heads at the logic of this situation. Apparently, the Trudeau government announced yesterday that going forward this kind of thing won't be permitted but it was silent (due due confidentiality?) on whether the change would impact Garnier's case. It's another black eye for the federal government (both under Harper's and Trudeau's leadership) where the matter of veterans benefits is concerned.

She beat to death a 9 year old with a hammer....here is a case for life in prison...I mean life never to get out....not some healing lodge with no fences, plus she has access to children while there....WTF are we thinking....And now the family has got to deal with this because our government does not have the balls to make sure this type of thing does not happen again....It sad really, a 9 year old robed of everything and some one is worried about the killers welfare....some times I think we should bring back the death penalty...

A child murderer, Terri-Lynne McClintic, is now back into a facility for killers.

Quote

Last month, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Conservative MPs who questioned the transfer of McClintic were “ambulance-chasing politicians.”

He later doubled down on that attack after his remarks drew criticism, saying “If they’re upset, it’s probably because it stings a bit.”

Deputy Conservative House Leader Lisa Raitt responded by saying the prime minister was showing “self-righteous indignation that we would actually question him on an issue that’s as important as making sure that convicted killers of children are in appropriate institutions.”

In response to the news of McClintic’s transfer back to prison, Raitt – who is also now the Conservative justice critic, tweeted that “justice has been done.”

I bet the Prime Minister wishes now he could take back those words.

So happy that POS is back where she belongs. The best news for the Stafford family and concerned Canadians.

I doubt that he cares at all. He and his ministers seemed mystified as to why many Canadians were upset about the situation just as they were adamant about the legitimacy of their notion of justice in the Khadr case. The federal Libs seem to be directed by a moral compass that's out of sync with mainstream Canada's. But, then again, Trudeau believes there is no mainstream in Canada. Let's hope that in 2019 voters remind him there is.

If your example was a blonde Swedish guy then it would be equally ridiculous.

The way you handle problems is: you assess that there is indeed a problem, you collect information, you propose and try solutions.

Swedes and Somali have nothing to do with our justice problem... You implied that they were with your example.

It's not my fault that you muddy your arguments by bringing your despised foreign menace into it.  Improve your communication and don't shoot the messenger.

Always and forever looking for those white racist bogeymen out there. Is that a full time job for you? I sure would like to know as to what group you are working with? Anyone who says anything about a non western looking person has to be a racist. There can be no doubt about that. Why don't you just say it out loud that you are not a great fan of western looking people and be done with it? It is so obvious with you because you show that here all the time that you are not all delighted all that much with having western looking faces walking around in your neighborhood. Just saying.

I think our legal eagles have taken the Charter of Rights and made a complete mess of our system. Anyone who follows the news, knows that this is not an isolated incident and it is getting more and more common.

An example would be charges of assault and property damage arising from riots. In the UK, many of these are routinely dealt with by the courts in a matter of weeks. The charges laid during the 2011 Stanley Cup riot in Vancouver took years to make their way through the courts. I very much doubt our system is any more "just" as a result. Probably less.

The COR has been a disaster for Canada. Thanks to that piece of rag illegals can be given all the rights that a born in Canada Canadian has. If you are not Canadian than you should have no rights in Canada, period. But thanks to old man Trudeau and liberalism he has made it legal for any foreigner who enters Canada illegally to get to enjoy all the rights and privileges that Canadians have. Such bull chit. The only right that should be given to an illegal is the right to get the hell out of Canada now. The tax dollars that are being blown on illegals is astronomical and all for nothing. There is no message being sent to any illegal foreigner that will in anyway deter anyone from trying to enter Canada illegally. Matter of fact we have a prime mistake that appears to want to encourage it. That PM has been one big mistake for Canada.

Our justice system is broken down because we have too many leftist liberal politicians who create the laws and then put in leftist liberal judges to administer the law and mostly appear to be put there to protect the criminals and not the victims. They are the ones to be blamed for this justice system breakdown. It's hard to imagine that it can take this bloody long to bring a murderer to justice and to throw him in the slammer. Why it should take longer than a week to find a murderer guilty who they already know committed the murder and then sentenced right away is beyond me. This is just another case of our taxpayer's tax dollars being blown once again. It never ends with our politicians. And they have no desire to try to stop it either.

Sadly, Taxme has it right.

The problem with out legal system is that is designed by, for and with lawyers.  The more time they can waste, the more they can bill.

Maybe lawyers should not be allowed to become politicians. A conflict of interest is very real here when a lawyer can become a politician. They will make new laws, new rules and regulations for themselves that will serve their needs and purposes and make more money for themselves when they leave politics. The game is rigged folks in favor for people who will benefit from it after they leave politics. The crooked politician wolves run the we the people's chicken house. Aw well.

Yeah, you guys had a lawyer for the previous two terms - and it cost you over $10 Trillion - more than a Hollywood divorce settlement!  We can send your Democrats a drama teacher for the next election if you like.

You mean that guy that can't stop calling himself a feminist and is always looking for an excuse to apologize to someone or some group for something done by others over a century ago? That open borders guy?   A feminist like Trudeau would never make it in American politics. Trudeau would be lucky if he got a job as an intern in American politics. Chuckle-chuckle.

It's hard to read this and not wonder what the hell is wrong with the judges and parole system in this country. If they can't keep such obvious monsters off the street, what good are they at anything else?

In 2011, Randall Hopley snatched three-year-old Kienan Hebert from his second floor bedroom in Sparwood, B.C. Only an all-out response by B.C. police convinced Hopley to surrender the child unharmed four days later.

Hopley had been hurting young children since early adolescence and had prior convictions for both the abduction and sexual assault of minors. Prior to Hebert’s abduction, Hopley was found to have built a “child lair” in the woods of the Crowsnest Pass. The room could be locked from the outside and contained sex toys, lotion and a pair of children’s pyjama pants altered to resemble a thong.

Last week, Hopley was freed from prison into the Vancouver area, his precise whereabouts concealed for “privacy reasons.” A parole board decision precipitating the release noted Hopley still had little appreciation of the harm he had caused and was unable to “manage” his risk to others.

This is like the third case I've seen in the last few weeks of judges giving light sentences to violent immigrant or refugee offenders so they won't run astray of immigration Canada and risk being deported.

So we now have further confirmation that the liberal elites of Canada do not really consider this a nation, or even a country. It's just, like, a place, that's all. Nothing special. And no, we have no unique cultures or central visions. Hey, anyone should be able to come here and stay here. And why not vote here, even if they don't live here? I mean, they USED to live here! No reason to impose standards on voting!

The Supreme Court just ruled that limits on voting rights of expatriates, even those who haven't lived in Canada in decades, can't be removed. Why? Because it might offend their dignity and sense of self worth! Oh my God! The humanity! Thank God 'dignity and a sense of self-worth' are in the Charter! Or at least, if not the judges have decided they are. And the judges make the laws. This on behalf of a Canadian who left Canada 18 years ago but still feels he should be able to vote.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and the Supreme Court is absolutely corrupt and no longer paying the slightest attention to the Charter, the constitution or the government. They are simply a collection of activist lawyers who decide cases based on their own ideological beliefs.
