The U.S. can "discriminate" against any nationals it wants to, including Canadians.   This is a sovereign right.    Many presidents and U.S. federal law have done this in the past and present.   I have cited several rational reasons and policies that you choose to ignore.

Yes, they can.

To their economic peril, of course.  Not to mention the damage to their moral reputation.

But do we really believe that a truly dedicated terrorist cannot get into the country if he really wanted to... even with this ban... ?

Right...because the U.S. is really concerned about its "moral reputation" based on past government restrictions on and deportations of foreign nationals.  The U.S. economy really struggles compared to other nations in the world.....only open borders can save it. /sarcasm

Great logic....so why have any border controls ?  Previous presidents were so foolish to have travel bans...just like President Trump ?

A valid question and one that must be addressed by those obssessed about Iran and go at any length and by any means to demonise a whole population at large regardless of their background or if they are genuine immigrants leaving the mullah regime in Iran behind...

And this is all happening under the pretext of "safety and security measures" for US whilst saudi/ egyptian citizens who orchestrated 9/11 attacks and potential terrorists are welcome with open arms at the US controlled borders....The sad thing about these right wing nutjobs is they blame the liberals and Obama's admin as if Obama would have been implemented such a ban to this scale...

This ban has nothing to do with keeping terrorists out of US but a blatant policy by the orange bufoon and his advisors to aggravate tension with those said banned countries. In the process the US government has already lost credibility as POTUS around the world and this is getting worse as a matter of time...

The U.S. did not even have diplomatic relations with Iran for nearly 40 years.   America is not an escape destination for Iran's "population at large".

How many U.S. refugees/emigres are/were welcomed in Iran since 1979 ?

Obama did implement a travel ban.   As did President Carter (Iran), and others before that.   So why can't Trump do it ?

Yes....the "orange buffoon" has made things so bad that many foreign leaders have traveled to visit him, even before he was inaugurated.   More foreign leaders have visited Trump than visited Canada's idiot prime minister Trudeau in the same time frame.

Always the same damn excuse to go back 40 years to justify the ban. Why now? Hostage crisis is truely over....

The truth is if your country stopped messing around with the politics of other countries, orchastrating coups to depose their democratically elected governments against the will of their people, shoots down their passenger airplane and stopped bullying them on daily basis, and so the list carries on....perhaps and only perhaps we will see a more controlled flow of immigration and less hostility and discrimination.

Regardless of what you say America is built based on immgration and those top talented people that are just irreplacable. So you can go and knock yourself out. America owes it's existence to those darm immigrants....

Because Iran is a known state sponsor of "terrorism" in opposition to U.S. and allied interests.   Travel bans are not the same as illegal incarceration of embassy staff....in fact...they are quite different.

So if the U.S. (or Canada...see Haiti) continues its policies, it will get more emigres than it got before?    Why were there so many immigrants to the U.S. before messing around with Iran and other nations ?   The U.S. is the #1 destination for immigrants in the world for economic reasons, and that includes Canadians.

See above....the U.S. also deports millions and millions of illegal or undesired immigrants.

Nothing special about Iranians in the USA...they are emigres like all the rest.   And they are subject to U.S. policies and decisions on who will and will not legally enter the country.   It is astounding to me that so many foreign nationals want to travel to the Great Satan in such large numbers.

If Iranians are butt-hurt about Trump's travel ban, then they should go elsewhere and boycott American products (some Canadians preach this approach often)....yet they still come to the evil USA.

Iran often holds-up Anousheh Ansari as their first person in space.

She fled...pardon...left Iran to become a US citizen...legally, of course. Don't think she plans leaving...

There is no native US citizen....Try telling that yourself until you believe it...

US is made of Irish, english, french, italian, iranian, jews and many other nationalities that emigrated there (including some butt hurt german nazis still ashamed of their attrocities during world war II. A post  Schadenfreude syndrome....Now if some yankees wanna enlighten us that America belongs to red necks only ofcourse they are free to live in their fantasy cuckooland...

Btw....the contribution is not confined just to Nasa but the whole god damn Cilicon Valley and prominent CEO's. Can't be bothered to educate the ignorants. Facts are there for those who are interested.

Don't forget the Kingdom of Bavaria which was part of the Deutsches Kaiserreich (German Empire) when Fredrich Drumpf emigrated to America to start his barbershop and later whorehouse to accumulate the Trump family fortune. In those days they did strip you of your citizenship as old Freddy found out when he returned to Bavaria but they wouldn't allow him to stay because he was a draft dodger (just like his grandson).

Really ?   I will let all the American Indian tribes know this....it will come as a surprise.   My ancestors were not "immigrants"....they were slaves forced to believe it.    So you still haven't explained why so many immigrants still want to go to Trump's evil America.

Do you mean Silicon Valley ?    Illegals are deported from there too.

Trump's revised ban has nothing to do with making America safe again...

I won't really care if anyone here really thinks he is doing A "great job" as a POTUS but if anyone really cared and decent enough with a bit of morality they would realise that this is not doing anything to help make US safe again but instead unnecessarily increases animosity towards the US.

What do you think? Please argue rationally instead of resorting to name callings and blankets statements.....

Not a single American has been killed from a terrorist act in the United States committed by nationals from the countries targeted in the so-called revised travel ban. In the case of Iranian Americans, most of whom have fled to America as the result of persecution or oppression at home, are a model immigrant community in the United States. Despite decades of acrimonious relationship between their ancestral home and their adopted country, Iranian Americans are among the most successful immigrant community in the United States. A large number of them are businessmen, doctors, lawyers and engineers. They have senior executive positions with some of the largest corporations, including Twitter, eBay, Expedia, and Google. Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi who has won two academy awards and boycotted the 2017 Oscars in protest at the Trump travel ban was represented by prominent Iranian American scientist Firouz Naderi and an Iranian-American businesswoman, Anousheh Ansari, the first Iranian to go to space.

Under the travel ban, are Muslims still allowed to enter the US? Simple question.

You can't be discriminating against certain groups of people if you don't discriminate against all of them at the same time.

I think that's the logic.

That's the dirty politic to indiscriminate against a nationality! Iranian is a nationality before playing the religion card...This ban has nothing against religion and very much to do with politics...

Heck, makes me laugh when some ignorant bunch also think this is a ban on arabs when they don't have a clue about the most basic facts...

The question is and remains if that is a ban to make america safer why Saudi Arabia the mastermind of 9/11, Osama Bin Ladin and the creator of ISIS not on that list??

The reasoning behind the ban for these specific countries has been discussed here the forum numerous times already. If you don't get that, or refuse to accept facts there's no point discussing further with you. This is a waste of time.

There are no reasons but to punish the ordinary citizens of those countries for no known reasons....And btw spare me the rhetoric that is regurgitated by the same people here that Iranian government is 'world number one terrorist' cause from where I am standing there are other countries with far worse records yet not on that list....

If you don't get this simple fact then there's no point to discuss this with further with you. Better still if you want to stick to your one liner slandering better not waste my time...
