What about Malcolm Turnbull? Should he apologize to Trump for annoying him? Perhaps Pena Nieto should have grovelled more today?

Who cares what anyone else said. This is new ground with this president and trudeau better grow the fuck up.

If he is alienating everyone, we need to worry less. BTW Trump is the one who needs to learn some basic manners, not JT.

There was contact. He should have been more careful.

You really want to talk about assaulting women?

No, I just wanted to point out that Justin Trudeau has issues with manners and temperament as well.   He is no saint compared to Trump.

Well, what a shock. The number of people illegally crossing the border and claiming refugee status is WAY up this year, like by several hundred percent. Gee, I wonder if the word is out after Trudeau generously offered Canada as the home for all the world's refugees?

If you'd stopped half way through that sentence, I could have agreed with you.

You don't think women allowed trudeau to ''grab them by the pussy'' because of his status and of course his greatest pick up line ever.'' I am a feminist''.

Refugee crossings up tenfold in just the last month. Wait until spring, when floods of them will be coming in thanks to Trudeau's invitation. There are millions of illegals in the US, and none of them want to go home to poverty when they can go north.

“We have virtually no resources at the border,” says Christian Leuprecht, a political science professor at Royal Military College and Queen’s University. “The way (the Mounties) respond is when the Americans tip them off.” And, in any event, he says, “once someone reaches the border it’s too late (to stop them),” even if we wanted to. Anyone who can plant his feet on Canadian soil is entitled to make a claim for asylum.

...and that is because the USofA has reneged on the safe third country agreement. Through its deport everyone and their dog policy it is no longer a safe third country. Canada's policy hasn't changed at all, only the USofA's has.

The US has not reneged on anything. There is a lot of talk swirling around, but nothing substantial has happened. The number of deportations last month was lower than it was in January of the previous year under Obama. And the people being deported are not refugee applicants but simply migrants who crossed the border illegally.

well, yah. The courts put a stop to the executive order. So things are back to sortofnormal.  So you're right and I'm wrong because of that. Now the White House has been going on about coming up with a new order that will set things right America and illegals.

Some folks think that its a good idea to steal a march on the Bannon administration and get out while the gettin's sort of good.

If Trudeau wants all the refugees and illegals, the U.S. is happy to send them Canada's way.

Next time, be careful what you wish for.

The sad thing for me is that I had no choice in all these criminal illegals entering Canada. With the count up to over 400 criminals breaking Canadian law, it looks like I will be paying for another bunch of leeches. It just never ends here in la-la-land. I dread summer when the weather gets better. It may amount up to 4,000. I guess that I better sell my car so I can help pay for their free rent, food, clothing, medicare, and social services. I am just hoping that I won't have to sell anything else.

True, but always remember that a majority of Canadians can only define their identities and self worth by always doing the opposite of what those evil 'muricans are doing, and that includes refugees/immigration.   Trudeau only needs one third of the vote and these people to retain power.   The rest are all screwed !

Agreed. And they do love having their demonstrations against Trump.  As if Trump cares. With the candidates running for the Conservative Party leadership it is beginning to look like there is no one that would do anything different to what JT and the liberals are doing. They both walk the walk, and that is about it. Political correctness has them both by the you know what.

Canada got screwed when the electorate voted papa Trudeau into power in 1980. When Trudeau decided that it was time to give up on our British heritage and culture and traditions that was the writing on the wall and the beginning of the end for Canada. The Canada that I was brought up in is pretty much gone, and is now being replaced by every other race, culture, heritage, tradition, language and religion. This is going to lead to a multicultural disaster in the making for Canada in the next twenty years. Incredible indeed.

A trio of stories in the Ottawa Citizen seem interesting to me. No doubt the progressives at Postmedia don't see today's story on hospital overcrowding as in any way related to their usual heartwarming propaganda about how wonderful it is to help Syrians with their medical problems, but I do.

Heart Warming Story of Syrian farmer and his sick boys coming to Canada

Heart warming story of Syrian refugee having her son treated at hospital

Not very heartwarming story of hospital overcrowding in Ottawa

So 35K Syrians in a country of 35M people makes hospital overcrowding an issue related to Syrian refugees ?

That's not reasonable and it continues to validate my position that the conversation around immigration & refugees is broken.

I did not say they were responsible. I said they were related. We already had a system which was teetering on the edge, with long waits for ER visits and enormous waits to see specialists and for diagnostic tests. You might note I have posted about this many times already. Now you add in tens of thousands of people - 50,000 last year, another 40,000 this year, many of whom have pre-existing and untreated health issues, and it makes things that much worse.

And the Liberals have offered no new money to offset this. They continue to downplay the cost of bringing in all these people, putting out nothing but the bureaucratic processing charge and ignoring the cost of food, shelter, clothing, education and medical care.
